What’s causing this noise ?
Is it rotors?? Seems to be coming from left rear side I think it’s something about the wheel ??
The last part are the brakes for sure
Mechanic said brakes are good but they make a noise as well

2014 here. When that sun hits at just the right angle…blinds me every single time.
Is this oil just as good as the name brand motor oil?
She's not perfect. But she's mine.
Post pics and rendered images of your wheel ideas here! Looking for any and all ideas.
After selling my original 19” Touring wheels to switch to 18” Camry SE wheels to deal with all the local pot holes, I’m getting bored with the look. First pic is real and my current state, following pics are AI generated with ideas. Second pic is AI rendered IS350 18” wheels. Third pic is AI rendered 19” current Camry XSE wheels, next is AI rendered 19” TRD wheels in bronze.
My Toyota avalon xls has the 4 speed A541E transmission and I'm looking for a digram or I fo on where the check balls go inside the valve body. Any help would be appreciated
I need advice, I am really interested in a long term daily that’s within my 18k budget. I am pretty meticulous about proper maintenance and taking care of my cars. I really want this fifth gen Avalon and is within my budget. It’s listed for ~$16.5k before dealer fees and taxes, is it worth it or no?
If not, what other cars would you recommend within this budget. I’m interested in cars with high mpg, great looks, and comfortability.
Amazing drive. Its an amazing car to do this drive with.
2016 Limited with ~53K miles. owned it a couple months now.
my commute is 14miles, mostly highway. I've noticed in the afternoons - hot outside, engine is fully warmed up after driving 20min on teh highway - when i get stopped at a light near my house, standing on the brake (not shifted into neutral or park) - the engine starts kinda "chugging" and hte car vibrates a little. Not bad, but certainly rougher than the usual "I can't even tell the car is running" smoothness. My AC is on, working great, usually on Recirculate. Not high fan speed, tho.
i've tried turning off the AC/fan, and that seems to help a little, but not sure if it's the problem. usually by the time i start to notice it, the light turns green.
Oh, and i tend to be using Eco Mode. not sure if that matters.
so
Okay, my Avalon squad - here’s my dilemma - and could use your help/advice.
10 year old car - fine electrically and sound for the most part mechanically, but the East Dallas roads have done a number on my suspension and physical parts are just wearing down after years on the road. Sway bars, control arm, bushings, struts all need to be replaced - according to the dealership - for around $6K. The car is worth $8,000 on KBB, maybe less with these issues.
They said they can knock the suspension work down to $4,900 and change after taxes. Dealer pricing and certified with a warrantee on the work.
141,000 miles, and drives beautifully. Maybe I can feel bumps a bit more these days but the rear isn’t hitting the ground at all, no knocking or clunking or anything of the sort. Floats just a bit, but it’s a cushiony ride anyway.
If I invest, it will probably extend the life out to 250-300K, maybe it would without it - who knows. I love this car so much, but that’s a hard hit to take at once.
I currently have no car payment. And while I can afford one, now’s not a great time to buy and I’d prefer not to have one. It would stretch me just a bit, but I wouldn’t have to worry about these types of repairs either. I was hoping to hold on for a bit longer at least until we can get the Runner paid off - inside the next 12 months - and then go from there.
Tough spot to be in. Pops says get the two tires I need replaced, replaced; and the alignment done. Drive it for two weeks and see where we land. Taking that advice and have an appointment set. He’s a grease monkey, one I trust, and wants to get a look at it. Says it may not need all that they’ve reported and feels the “stealership” in Dallas are clowns trying to upsell (he’s hilarious). The work and parts are what they are, but he isn’t sold. He’s checking out the video they sent during my maintenance as well. I’m sure he’ll have thoughts.
What would you do? Sink the money now? Or cut losses, bite the bullet and look at something newer? Maybe a ‘19-‘22 with under 60K miles?
UPDATE: Look at this, gang. Parts aren’t even $450.
On my MID it says ECO OFF but the green cluster light shows it on. What is this?
Anyone have any advice on how to fix this piece of rubber dangling from my sunroof? It doesn’t leak or anything it’s just annoying because I have to push it up every time I close the sunroof cover.
Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2013 toyota avalon limited and I’m looking to switch the rims.
I found a good offer on some beautiful 2015 lexus gs350 rims, and chatgpt says they will fit but I want to make sure.
My wheels are 18inch. That’s about all I know. The dimensions of the lexus rims are 8Jx18 ET45.
I’d like to know if they’re an exact fit, and also if my current toyota centercaps (the oem ones) will fit.
First photo is the rims I’m interested in, second photo is my current rims
Thanks guys!
I have a 2015 Avalon and was wondering what my options are for getting CarPlay on the OEM screen. If anyone has any advice/options please let me know. Videos of it working would be good to see if anyone has it on their system. Thank you so much in advance.
Hi, I've been wanting to put a roof rack/rails on my 2015 Toyota Avalon and was wondering if anyone has done this and if they have recommendations of specific products since this car does have a "naked roof"? Would appreciate any insight.
