I’m looking at a Touring 2019 with almost 100k miles for $21k, is this a good bet? I’m mostly worried about the high mileage…would love your input!
Hey I have a 2001 Toyota Avalon and I need to replace the wheel, I was wondering if there’s any wheels from any newer gen Toyota that would be interchangeable. Any helps appreciated thanks!
Hi, I’m looking into a 2015 Avalon XLE. It’s been a one owner car and it’s a clean title. Looking into it for my 17 year old son. He loves my 2017 Avalon Touring and his car just completely kicked the bucket.
The one I’m looking at was bought brand new and all the maintenance has been done at the Toyota dealership in town. I got the NMVTIS and it shows a clean one owner history. What else should I be asking? Should I be worried about the mileage? Please and thank you!
Hey, I’ve got a 2005 Avalon XLS with the Navigation screen and I’m trying to figure out where I can find a CarPlay system to install or just the best way to play music through my phone. I’m currently using one of those Bluetooth transmitters and it has a lot of static so looking to get an actual system. Any recommendations? Also I’ve previously looked and it seems a lot of the CarPlay systems don’t fit with my spec with the Navigation system. So I need one that will work with my specific car. Thanks
Is it rotors?? Seems to be coming from left rear side I think it’s something about the wheel ??
The last part are the brakes for sure
Mechanic said brakes are good but they make a noise as well
Just test drove it and checked it out. Leather in good condition. Mechanically sound, inspected engine bay no apparent leaks (some power steering residue) or abnormal sounds while driving. Some small dings on the exterior, paint is in overall good condition for a 20 year old car. Plenty of service records. 3 owners. Dealer doesn’t seem to budge on price.
What do you think? I don’t think it’s a terrible deal and if it is still there next week I will probably purchase as I need a new daily for work/school
I just got his little whip two weeks ago. I've been enjoying it so much, got a little power to it to play. The car was probably left sitting somewhere for along time the clear coat paint started peeling no the hood, roof, and trunk surfaces. I peeled it off with a razor blade. The lining on the roof is coming off, so I will fix that next! I will get down to fixing the paint, and potentially tinting the windows bc we don't like po-po, they are dirty!
All the major components to the car have been upgraded, radiator, hoses, alternator. Needs suspension work as well. The car came with the highest trim level, it even has a little controller t control the screen, it is amazing that it works better than most modern maps. Switched the radio for a pioneer avh 2500 car play, can even watch movies in it. Such a great car, I get reminded everything the car's door clunks shut, quality. Love it! I will for sure look for an Avalon Limited 2001 if I get a chance! Any thoughts how I can make it better?
- Don't worry abut the home, It is being painted lmao.
I know it’s a great car to keep stock, but I couldn’t be happier with the look and ride now. (Japanese VIP inspired) Performance suspension and custom 3 piece wheels for the 95
I've been hesitant to post here for fear of judgement but i told a few people in the comments that I would so here she is.
Hey all, I was just curious what do you think my Avalon may be worth around. I'm not really looking to sell it but I've always just wondered since I was given it. Like I said its a 2011, base with the JBL synthesis system, Zephyr Blue, 17 inch wheel options, new alternator, the body just has run of the mill bumps and scratches, still has a good amount of the dealer undercoating left. If there are any other questions I'd be happy to answer. Thank you!
Edit: And it was maintained well and driven a little bit per week before I was given it 2 years back now? at 11k miles, heck it still had the original battery until last year then it finally went.
Hey guys, my first post here and im desperate for some knowledgeable eyes. i was just about to leave town on the 13th for a road trip when my car threw codes for the first time since i got it. just FYI, i do have a blue driver scan tool, however i dont know how to interpret the mass of data available to me so I'll be attaching that in the imgur link below, if there are other metrics that would be helpful to track lmk and i can test for them on the spot i call "the hill of death" a steep incline on the freeway which is the only spot that seems to trigger the codes. besides that spot the car seems to run fine

Since the issue started, i have done a couple things:
- changed the air filter for the first time in a while on the 11th, pre road trip/CEL. Oil also changed recently and levels good.
- changed the spark plugs (they were original) with denso plugs and coils with TRQ coil plugs. even after the switch the specific cylinders (when specifically thrown by ECU) are still 1 and 6. Quick note too, i repair electronics for a living so I actually did not have much issue replacing the coils and plugs WITHOUT removing the air intake manifold, im used to working in small delicate spaces. condition of original plugs in reference image attached, i think i kept them in the correct order, ie rear left is cyl1, front right cyl6
- added lucas fuel injector cleaner to the full fuel tank, so far have consumed 1/4 of the treated fuel
- patched up a cable on some sensor attached to the intake snorkel that had gotten sheared off somehow. i know ive driven fine for at least 2 hour drives with it like that, unknown how long it was that way. cables were purple and green, green was snipped and now soldered with a patch as of last night (reference image attached)
- held a discharging propane tank around all vaccuum lines, airbox, etc that i can see from the top of the bay under the hood, have not noticed any reactions
- Oreily's tested battery and alternator and both tested adequately
Anyway, if anyone can offer me so advice, assistance, or knowledgable insight id appreciate it so much, I have a very disappointed birthday boy who was hoping to planning to see the Grand Canyon and now is doomscrolling while i play in the garage 🙏 thanks in advance!
Have a 2018 toyota avalon, no carplay/android auto, would like to keep the stock screen and use a decoder module to increase entertainment system capability
Has anybody had success with one of these or should I just spend the bucks for a 700 dollar radio, want to make sure steering wheel buttons still work
Some say carriage top, some say it’s the “presidential/golf/masters” package, some say it’s fucking hideous!!! This will be my retirement vehicle!!!!really want it to be a 2011-2012 limited trim.
Finished ALL the suspension on my 2003

Currently thinking about looking at a 2011 Avalon with 215000 miles. It’s listed for $2700, thoughts?
Especially with the BBS wheels
I have a 2020 Toyota Avalon hybrid limited, that i noticed something wasn’t working, didn’t have enough time to get it to a closer Toyota dealership so i went out to a Lexus dealership that diagnosed it and said it was a bad buzzer and the diagnostic was $250ish , but wanted to replace it for $600
I had the Toyota dealer do it for $200 , but that didn’t fix the issue , I went back to Lexus and they said they’ll re-diagnose it for free … well come to find out it’s a bad multiplex body ecu ( basically a bcm) they want $2k to fix it … called the Toyota dealer that’s different than the one I go to but it’s the one that provides Lexus with Toyota parts and said they won’t take the diagnostic from Lexus and it’s better for them to look at , and I didn’t get a quote yet but the diagnostic would be $200 and the repair would be 2k based off what he said.
I got this car 6 months ago and it’s already costing me a lot over the 27k i purchased it for.
Do I pay Lexus ( I know they’re Toyota lux brand ) , do I got to Toyota ( or at what price does it make or not make sense)
Orrr do I look for a independent shop ( I’m iffy bc it’s a more complicated job and car and requires vin matching and keys reprogrammed
Please can I get some thoughts and tips
