Found in my old storage unit, a forgotten gift from my uncle for my birthday 20 years ago!

I was a Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh kid so I really didn’t have much interest in baseball cards, but I certainly would have torn all of these open regardless to check them out. Turns out, my uncle gave this to my dad to give to me for my birthday and my dad forgot. Hard to believe 2006 was 20 years ago.

Captain Cupcake cards

In my free time I have created collectable trading cards called Captain Cupcake Cards. They centre around the rivalry between the cupcakes and the donuts with a vast number of food related characters with unique special powers completing the universe. I want to get my collectable trading cards- Captain Cupcake Cards, professionally published and distributed. However, I need some contributions via my kickstarter so I can get my cards up and running and use some of the money to pay for a table to pitch to various toy/card companies. If this could go viral or gain some traction with people sharing it that would be cool and immensely appreciated. I will post the link to my kickstarter here once there is enough interest!

I'm illustrating the Ars Goetia demons and making them into trading cards. I've only done a third of them so far, but there's 72 total. Please let me know what you think!

There are many more on my ig if you're interested. Thanks for any feedback!

Pulled a Luka Frozenfractor out of a Target box

Fairly new to the hobby… been at this less than a year and mostly buying singles, so I’ve never ripped much.

Grabbed four Chrome Update Value boxes on a whim from Target.

First three were fine, a few numbered guys, nothing crazy. Last box, last few packs, this falls out.

Had to look at the corner twice before it registered. Also got an Alijah Martin RC Black /10 out of the same box, which felt like the hit until this showed up.

Still not totally sure I understand the negative numbering thing entirely.

Chicago Bears Rookie Signatures

I started collecting in April. I’m trying to collect the rookie cards of all the Bears players who start in the inevitable Super Bowl victory we’re going to win in the next 3 years. I call it OPERATION BEAR DOWN

Signatures are a bonus. These are the most recent cards I’ve gotten signed.

We’ve won the offseason 4 years in a row, we HAVE to do something in the post season soon

Liebigbilder Cards?

Hey all,

Cleaning out my in laws garage, and she found these. Was hoping that maybe we had something here, but i cant really tell if these are valuable or even worth selling. Looked at ebay at the sold tab and most cards are from the 1920 or eariler. Havent found anything quite like what we have here. I think most of these sets are from the 1890s to about the 1910s and the album looks like it was signed by some guy Hans in Hungry. I got around 50 sets, most of them complete.

Are these worth selling on ebay?

I think these are stapler marks, is the card still gradable or will it be rejected. What grade would you expect it would get?

I checked the famous 1952 Topps ocean-dump story, and some of the details don't line up

I went back through the famous story about Sy Berger and the unwanted 1952 Topps high numbers, expecting it to be either clearly documented or basically hobby folklore.

It's neither.

Berger gave a pretty detailed first-person account: roughly 300-500 cases, three garbage trucks, a friend's garbage scow, and a disposal several miles off New Jersey.

But some of the details get strange.

An older PSA article stated that the cards were dumped into the Atlantic in 1960. A newer PSA history uses much more cautious language and calls it “hobby lore,” saying the cards were allegedly dumped.

The famous two-million-card number can apparently be traced back to Berger himself, but I couldn't find surviving Topps inventory records independently establishing that exact quantity.

There's also a funny numerical detail: #311-407 is 97 cards, while one early Berger account reportedly referred to 96 late cards.

And Willie Mays #261 sometimes gets folded into retellings even though he isn't part of the final #311-407 high-number run.

The Rosen Find creates another rabbit hole because major sources don't even agree cleanly on the year/location.

I put the sources and contradictions together here if anyone wants the full rabbit hole: Did Topps Really Dump Millions of 1952 Baseball Cards Into the Ocean?

I'd be especially interested if anyone here knows of contemporary Topps paperwork, newspaper coverage or other primary evidence that isn't usually cited in versions of this story.
