That’s how taking off from Kerala looks like
Between solid land and infinite blue heaven
Between solid land and infinite blue heaven
My daughters have a school function tomorrow, and she had been asking for mullappoo (jasmine string) since yesterday.
Stop 1 (Kumarapuram nearby shop): Out of stock. People were already crowding around asking for flowers
Stops 2 & 3 (Around Kochulloor): Visited two different spots. Both empty.
Stop 4 (Pazhavangadi, near the temple): Shopkeeper said the last batch literally just got sold out, but directed me towards SP Fort Hospital.
Stop 5 (Opposite SP Fort): Finally spotted flowers! There was a small queue. When the lady ahead asked the price, the seller quoted ₹150 per muzham (മുഴം).
At that point, after driving all over the city and running out of options for tomorrow's school event, I just handed over ₹500 and took whatever he gave. In the rush, I didn't even stop to measure if it was actually 3+ muzham.
On the ride back, my daughter casually drops: "Wait, didn't we buy this for ₹50 before?"
Now sitting at home wondering: Is ₹150/muzham normal during evening peak demand / school event seasons in TVM? Or did I just pay the ultimate "desperate dad at 9 PM" tax?
What’s the going rate for mullappoo in your area right now?
I have an exam at Venjaramoodu next week, and I'll be travelling from TVL (Tiruvalla).
What would be the easiest way to reach there? Should I take a train from Tiruvalla and then a bus/auto, or would it be better to travel by bus directly?
Also, which is the nearest railway station to Venjaramoodu?
Any advice from people familiar with this route would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
I got a placement for biochemistry and industrial microbiology course, idkk I'm so unsure about this. Is the college good? Are there good placements?
Once I went for the service to the Big Wing at Kaimanam and I got an utter sht experience from there.
Especially the staff there who's attitude is like we are servicing under his expense.
And the worst part is that they contacted me stating the service have been done and when I came there saw my bike completely unwashed and still dirty.
And I asked him whether the washing was done and he confirmed it was done.
I was like I called him out and pointed out the dust.
Then he confessed that it has not been washed and he told me to wait.
I waited for 2.5 hrs for this sht experience and the fact is that I was also not able to attend my work and all....
They were not at all ready for any compensation for this.
Cuz I also dk whether they have completed the service on the mechanical side🙂.
TL;DR: Terrible experience at Big Wing Kaimanam — staff had a rude attitude, falsely claimed my bike was washed, and only admitted it wasn’t after I pointed out the dirt. I ended up waiting 2.5 hours, missed work, and received no compensation. I’m also unsure whether the actual mechanical servicing was properly completed.
Looking for recommendations for a really good Onam Sadya parcel/takeaway in and around Kazhakkoottam. Preferably authentic Kerala-style Sadya with good variety and tasty payasam. Any personal recommendations? 🙏
Went for a breakfast at this restaurant at vazhuthacaud today with wife. Wife had masala dosa and coffee. Since i wasn't hungry enough just ordered a coffee and vada.
When the bill came to my surprise 2 coffee and 2 vada amount equals one masala dosa. I mean what on earth!!! That too not even a standard restaurant. There is a limit too.
Idk if this is reasonable for others but for me its pure pizhiyal frm customers.

Guys njan ivde oru collegeil engineering pursue cheyannu. I wanna make some money by tutoring. Any tips on where to start? I have a reasonable grasp on the highschool syllabus and have good scores. Where do i start?
This has to be peak stupidity when it comes to road safety.
You have a large hoarding placed right next to the road, completely blocking the right-side visibility for vehicles trying to exit. A driver basically has to creep into the road before they can see whether traffic is approaching.
And then, as if that wasn't enough, someone has decided to park the red car exactly where it makes the visibility and access even worse.
A blind spot created by the hoarding, a narrow road, and a car parked right in the worst possible spot. What could possibly go wrong?
Other than the commoners like Kodai, ooty, munnar, rameshwaram anything less crowded and serene.
Open to temple trails(except Tanjore, been there many times), mountains, deserts whatever !
It’s really clean and well maintained
Perfect for after office 😌
