അറുക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു പരിധി ഉണ്ട്

Went for a breakfast at this restaurant at vazhuthacaud today with wife. Wife had masala dosa and coffee. Since i wasn't hungry enough just ordered a coffee and vada.

When the bill came to my surprise 2 coffee and 2 vada amount equals one masala dosa. I mean what on earth!!! That too not even a standard restaurant. There is a limit too.

Idk if this is reasonable for others but for me its pure pizhiyal frm customers.

Have you guys noticed that the traffic in the city has been much worse, especially the last 2-3 months? Is there any specific reason for this?

Looking for recommendations for a good, cozy dinner buffet spot in Trivandrum featuring live counters. Is the buffet at Hyatt Regency (Malabar Café) worth it, or are there better options?

Any suggestions for a 5-6 day road trip from Trivandrum other than the usual suspects?

Other than the commoners like Kodai, ooty, munnar, rameshwaram anything less crowded and serene.
Open to temple trails(except Tanjore, been there many times), mountains, deserts whatever !

Peak Stupidity - Roadside hoarding blocking visibility

This has to be peak stupidity when it comes to road safety.

You have a large hoarding placed right next to the road, completely blocking the right-side visibility for vehicles trying to exit. A driver basically has to creep into the road before they can see whether traffic is approaching.

And then, as if that wasn't enough, someone has decided to park the red car exactly where it makes the visibility and access even worse.

A blind spot created by the hoarding, a narrow road, and a car parked right in the worst possible spot. What could possibly go wrong?

Beginner's guide to experiencing Onam in Trivandrum this weekend?

Hi everyone! I'm relatively new to experiencing Onam in Trivandrum and would love some local advice on how to make the most of the next few days.

Since Onam celebrations are happening over the 10-day period, what are some things a beginner absolutely shouldn't miss? I'm especially interested in:

- Pookkalam / Athapookkalam spots

- Cultural programmes, music, dance or other Onam events

- Places that are nice to visit during the weekend

- Any traditional Onam activities that I can experience without spending too much

- Good places for a proper Sadya

For Sadya, my budget is ideally below ₹500 per person. If you've had a genuinely good Sadya recently in Trivandrum within that budget, please mention the place and, if possible, the current 2026 price. I'm aware Onam prices can be different from normal rates, so recent experiences would be especially helpful.

I've heard names like Mother's Veg Plaza, Ruchi and Pazhayidom Ruchi, but I'm open to anything — restaurants, smaller local places or even good takeaway options.

Also, if there are any beginner mistakes to avoid during Onam (crowds, timings, places that get extremely busy, etc.), please let me know.

Would really appreciate a simple "if you only have one weekend, do these things" kind of guide. 😄

Thanks in advance, and Happy Onam!

**Has anyone had experience with iCareFon Pattom for iPhone battery replacement?**

Hi, I have an iPhone 13 and recently visited iCareFon Pattom because of battery drain. They checked it and said the battery is bulging and the Battery Health isn’t showing the correct condition. They said replacing the battery is the only solution. They told me around ₹5.3k for the replacement. Has anyone here replaced their iPhone battery from iCareFon Pattom? How’s the battery after replacement? Is it stable, or are you still having draining issues? How long does it usually last?

Looking for some genuine experiences. Thanks!

Low flying helicopter, for over an hour - over the city?

There is a low flying helicopter over the city which seems to be tracing a similar path over and over again. It seems to look unusually low and ofcourse loud. As though searching for something.

Training? Or something wrong?

I hope I am not breaking any law by posting the photo.

Cafe suggestions for remote work

Hello folks! I’m visiting your lovely city for a few weeks. Do you have suggestions for good cafes where I can work remotely? I’m leaning towards Starbucks Lulu. Here is a list of my preferences:

  1. Not too much noise. Ideally no music etc. I may have to attend a call or two. I can carry noise cancelling equipment.

  2. Work hours will be typically be 2-6 pm on weekdays. So hopefully not too crowded at those times.

  3. Not ridiculously pricey. I guess that’s a subjective definition, but ideally it’ll be nice if I don’t have to spend more than 500-600 bucks per session

I’m leaning Starbucks simply because I’ve seen people work there. I’ve also heard of Eve’s Cafe and Baker’s Arch Garden Cafe, but I don’t know how they fare in these respects. Your suggestions, and wherever appropriate, your personal experiences, are most welcome.

KSRTC wasted 5 fucking hours of my life today

Had a really bad experience at thampanoor ksrtc stand

I Had to send a food parcel from TVM to Kannur for my dad. Went to KSRTC and asked about the buses. First they said the 6:30 had already gone and there were no more buses.

Then suddenly they're like “there's one at 8:45”

I came back around 7:45 and waited. Bus comes, I ask the driver about the parcel and he tells me to go to the courier section.

I go there and they fucking make me wait until the bus leaves.

Then they hit me with “you should've come earlier”

BRO I WAS FUCKING THERE.

Then another guy says “Kannur counter isn't available today, come tomorrow.”

THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU LET ME WAIT FOR THE BUS???

Almost 5 hours wasted because these mfs couldn't give me one straight answer.

I was genuinely so pissed I wanted to beat the shit out of someone, but obviously I'm not ruining my life over KSRTC

Absolute fucking circus.

What should I do guys should i file a complaint against them?
