VidGrab v1.0.0 is finally out

You just paste a link and pick the quality. Or use the browser inside the app, play a video and a download button pops up on it

stuff it does:

- youtube + a bunch of other sites, up to 4k if the video has it

- has an ad blocker in the browser

- can do 10 downloads at the same time

- saves as mp4 so it goes straight to photos

- mp3 if you just want the audio

- youtube videos keep the original audio

- nothing extra to install, everything's already inside

works on iOS 15 and up. install it with trollstore or whatever sideloading app you use

free, no ads, open source. shoutout to the yt-dlp devs, their stuff does all the heavy lifting. If a site stops working you can update it from settings

it's the initial release so there's probably some bugs. if something breaks let me know which site and I'll try to fix it.

Which iPhone is best for Trollstore?
I want an iPhone for my car that can run CarPlay with Spotify or YouTube Music.

Edit: I am not promoting this, nor am I seeking traffic—I couldn't care less about such things. I simply wanted to offer a friendly reminder to those who might be rushing to use this based on just one or two recommendations, without realizing the potential security risks involved. I sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings that may have arisen from this💀

My view is that while the enhancements offered by TrollStore ReMod are certainly appealing, it is not FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). This means that, barring reverse engineering, you can never know for certain what operations it is performing in the background. Given that both the applications installed via TrollStore and the tool itself can obtain root privileges, this factor alone makes it impossible to place full trust in it; even if it is actually safe, relying on it requires placing blind trust in the developer—a trust that offers no guarantee of absolute security. After all, you certainly wouldn't want to grant root privileges to a closed-source tool, would you?

I am not saying that closed-source software is bad—FOSS carries its own risks, too—but in most cases, closed-source software is indeed not as trustworthy as FOSS (due to issues regarding code transparency).
