I tried leaply with a child here’s what the first day was like

I recently tried Leaply because I was curious about the cognitive development plan they have for kids aged 3-9+.

The first day was actually pretty simple. It started with a short breathing activity and then a game called “Blow the Paper.” The idea is to blow a small piece of paper across the table as slowly as possible. It sounds really simple, but the point is to keep the paper moving and pay attention to what you’re doing.

There was also another short activity called “Find your pace.”

What I liked is that the activities don’t feel like schoolwork. They’re short and more like little games that a child can do at home without needing much preparation.

One funny thing happened, though. After finishing the first day, my child immediately wanted to click around and see what else was there. 😄 But the next day wasn’t available yet it said there were still 18 hours to go.

I guess that’s actually intentional, since the idea is to do a little each day rather than go through everything at once. Still, try explaining that to a curious kid who wants to see what’s next 😂

I only tried the first day so far, but there are different activities on the following days, so I’m curious to see how the plan develops and whether the activities become more challenging for different ages.

Has anyone else tried Leaply with their kids?

Any experience with math tutors online for a kid who’s starting to fall behind?

My daughter is 10 and math has been getting harder for her this year. She can usually do the homework, but only if I sit with her and explain half of it. If she has to do it alone, she gets stuck pretty quickly. Her teacher says she’s not seriously behind, but I’d rather help now than wait until she is.

I’ve started looking at math tutors online, mostly because driving somewhere several times a week isn’t realistic for us. I’m just not sure what actually works at this age. For parents who’ve tried online tutoring, did it help? And what did you look for when choosing a tutor?
