looking for tutor (elementary real analysis)

Hello,

I'm looking for a tutor in elementary real analysis.

I can't pay much, maybe $25-$35 per hour.

Once a week, evenings. My classes start mid june and I want to get ahead. I've already taken this class twice and failed before. Any help is appreciated. If you're also taking the same class this summer and would like to study together that would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

How do you manage students data while tutoring them

I was talking to a tuition teacher recently and realized managing students seems much harder than people think.

Teaching is one part, but then there’s:

• Tracking fees and who paid/not paid

• Attendance records

• Homework and test marks

• Parent communication

• Different batches and timings

• Following up with students

Curious to hear from tuition teachers here:

How do you currently manage everything? Do you use a notebook, Excel, WhatsApp, apps, or some other system?

What’s the most frustrating part of managing tuition students apart from actually teaching?

Would love to hear real experiences.

The worst thing about tuition is...

Over the past 2 years, I’ve been building an ecosystem for tutoring in Singapore. We are still deep in development but a bulk of the features we are planning comes from conversations with people.

I think some of the things that suprised me were:

  • We had more than a few tutors tell us they were lucky they had an understanding spouse. I was a little shocked, because these were tutors who have been teaching for many years. Still, they didnt seem to see it as a career?
  • Some parents engage and change tutors for up to 3 months just looking for the right one... it's basically trial and error. For. 3. months.
  • There's suprisingly little safeguards against tutors who lie about their achievements and CV.
  • When asked about LMS, suprisingly a lot more tutors are against the idea of using it due to it being more complex to use instead of making things simpler and quicker for them

Curious what other things really annoy you when it comes to tutoring or finding a tutor... let's see if we can design something around it.

Math Tutor Oakland (3rd Grade)

I’m looking for a summer math tutor for my incoming third grader. Specifically someone who has experience with this age group and the current curriculum. He’s transferring to a new school next year and has struggled in second grade so I want to make sure he feels prepared going into next year.

Ideally, I’d love to work with a local college student studying early childhood education and is familiar with current learning concepts, etc.

Open to Oakland and surrounding areas (Berkeley, Alameda, etc.)

Please read description below! In need of UK (Manchester)tutor for maths science and English.

Hi I'm a year 10 in droylsden Manchester and I'm looking for a good online (like face call) tutor or a physical face to face one if possible I don't want a tutor that only texts and gives videos it needs to be a face to face but mainly online my parents budget is something that isn't ridiculously expensive but is quite decent for a tutor. The subjects are maths science and English so core subjects is what I need tutoring on. The main reason why I need this is to prepare myself for my June mocks which predict my grades for college and to prepare myself for my actual GCSEs because right now I'm kinda struggling with my subjects especially maths so I need to look for a tutor fast. The type of tutor I'm looking for is someone who is patient and who teaches slowly because I'm very slow at processing questions and the work in general. I think my school is doing AQA for those subjects because that's what they only talk about but if you have any helpful recommendations that would be great. Please tell me more about your tutoring in the comments please.

San Antonio tutor

My son is 7 yrs old (2nd grade) I’m having real trouble getting him to reading level. For example tonight’s home work was a short story with 7 words used about 15 times within the story. Examples: Flin, want, by, they, Blip, and. Each times he encounters the words he sounding them out like he’s never seen them before.

I know how my sons works, if I get irritated he shuts down. So I’m always encouraging and helping. But my inners are screaming.

Any advice on how to help him. What can I do to help him understand. Or any one looking to take on a new student to help him learn how to read?
