I really wanted to make a better post about Danielle_Dresses because the last one became so blurry and weird! Also, I wanted to add more pictures to show how amazing and varied her style is. She shows how versatile twee can be and her wardrobe is so fun! She mixes a lot of thrifted and vintage pieces with newer brands like Damsen Madder.
I feel like people always reference Zooey from the 2010s when they think of twee outfit inspo, but she's still rocking her signature colorful mod inspired style to this day!!
The first 4 pictures are from her working with a brand called Patou 2023-2025. The others are from her Instagram.
Back in the mid-80s to early-90s I was very into c86/anorak/cutie/shambling/whatever music. Stuff like The Field Mice, Talulah Gosh, The Pastels etc. etc. At this time the word 'twee' was used almost exclusively as an insult for our scene. This subreddit got me thinking, is the word seen positively now? I know the band Heavenly that grew out of Talulah Gosh have embraced it since reforming with "Riot Twee" slogan tee shirts.
