How are you guys turning Twitch streams into Shorts/TikToks without spending hours editing?

One thing I’ve been struggling with is turning longer Twitch streams into YouTube Shorts/TikTok/Instagram content without spending forever scrubbing through VODs afterward.

So I started building a local desktop tool for myself that automates most of the clipping workflow.

Right now the workflow is basically:

  • while streaming I say “clip that”
  • the app detects the moment automatically
  • cuts the surrounding gameplay
  • removes the “clip that” audio from the final clip
  • exports it already formatted vertically for Shorts/TikTok/Reels

I also added:

  • loud/hype moment detection
  • OBS audio track support
  • custom trigger phrases
  • automatic exporting
  • duplicate prevention so it doesn’t create 20 clips from one reaction

I’m not selling anything and I plan on making it free — I’m mostly trying to figure out if this actually solves a real problem for other streamers or if people already have workflows they like better.

How are you guys currently handling short-form content from streams?

  • manually editing VODs?
  • Twitch clips?
  • replay buffer?
  • hiring editors?
  • AI clipping tools?

And realistically:
what would make something like this useful enough that you’d actually use it consistently?

Want to return to streaming

I used to stream and it’s been a couple years since then and right now I’ve gained a lot of motivation to come back to streaming because it was so fun.

I’m planning to come back but I want to be really prepared, I want to refresh my account and branding a bit so if anyone has an idea of what I can do to stand out more or just make more professional please let me know.

I don’t just want to prepare the aesthetics of my account but I would also like to make sure I’m doing things better from the start. Like should I make socials dedicated to streaming separate from my main account, how to maybe stand out more and keep viewers. I used to average about 10 viewers but it’s been a long time and I want to gather a new active audience. Should I also have a timetable? I’ve seen here some people do and don’t as not everyone schedules their times around twitch streamers which is fair. And maybe the games I play, I don’t want to be attached to a singular game, I’d love to be a variety streamer and I know personality is important. If there’s anything you think I should know before getting back into it please let me know and ask anything! Love yall

what are your thoughts on these virtual avatars like burn peanut?

i admittedly think its weird and cringy but i admit im a very old soul and well to be frank lots of the things current day seem weird and off putting to me lol. anyways im redoing my obs scenes and am considering making my own non anime version to test to see if that helps with viewership or retention. it makes physiological sense that it is effective but what do i know lol.

Chanel stats for reference and advice.

73 followers - average a new follower every couple weeks or so. this has really slowed down last couple months.

average 2 to 3 viewers - only 1 person really chats. sometimes i get a random chatter but mostly lurkers.

15-20 unique viewers average

Why your followers are ignoring your Go-Live alerts

I used to get so discouraged after hitting the "start stream" button. I’d look at my follower count - maybe 150 or 200 people - and then I’d look at my live viewer count. Zerooo. For the first forty minutes, it was just me and my own dashboard.

I kept thinking, "did I do something wrong? Do my followers just not care?" It felt like my notifications were being sent straight into a black hole.

The brutal reality of Twitch sorting

I finally realized what was happening after I checked Twitch from a viewer's perspective on my phone. If you follow 20 or 30 people, and five of them are live at the same time, Twitch doesn't just show them in a random order. It sorts them by concurrent viewers.

When you start at 0 viewers, you are at the very bottom of the "Live" list for your own followers. You aren't just invisible to strangers; you’re practically invisible to your own fans. I call this the ghost notification trap**.** You’re live, the alert went out, but your followers have to scroll past everyone else to even find you.

The "pulse" that changes everything

The game changed for me when I stopped starting from a dead stop. I realized that if I could just get 4 or 14 people in the room during the first five minutes, I would suddenly jump to the top of the sidebar and the notification tray for all my followers.

Twitch sees that "pulse" and thinks, "oh, this stream is actually happening," and it pushes you in front of people.

How I fixed the launch vibe:

-the prepush: I started hanging out in my Discord 15 minutes before going live, just chatting. When I hit the button, I already had 3-4 people ready to jump in.
-momentum over grinding: I realized that having 10 viewers for the first hour is way more important than having 0 viewers for five hours. That initial momentum is what actually triggers the notification to be "seen."
-socialproof is a filter: people follow the crowd. If a follower sees a notification for a stream with 12 viewers, they think, "Let me see what's going on." If it shows 0, they just keep scrolling through TikTok.

Stop treating golive alert like a miracle. If you start at zero, you're choosing to be invisible. You need to manufacture a bit of life on the channel the second you hit that button. Once you have that initial "technical pulse", your actual followers will start showing up much faster because you're finally at the top of their screen.

have you guys noticed this too? do you get a delay where your regulars only start showing up an hours after you've been live?

How do I find small streamers to promote my website?

I’ve sent some messages to small streamers on their twitch accounts asking them if they’d like to be a sponsor for my website and I have had no luck. 😞 I've tried to stick to the niche of my site revolving around sports but so far its been a dud. I tried short, quick business model, not a bot whispers so far.

Any advice or ideas to connect with small streamers?

Growing on Twitch : Tips and Tricks (PART ONE)

(I am splitting this into different parts because I can't fit all of my tips into one post TwT (it would be way too long))

-OVERVIEW-

Twitch is a great way to form a community quickly and keep your current community engaged! However, just like YouTube, in order to connect with others, form an active community, etc.

Before I continue, Yes, I am well aware that becoming a Twitch streamer tends to be very time-consuming and it also requires a lot of dedication and commitment to pursue this path. However if you are able to actually pull off streaming on Twitch, then I would highly recommend doing that!

Personally, I have been streaming on Twitch for about 3 years now and I became a Twitch affiliate (aka monetized) in roughly about 5 months into streaming (it takes years for some), so here are some tips that I have gathered not only by streaming myself, but also by watching other streamers!

-CONSISTANCY-

I can't stress enough about how IMPORTANT this first point is ESPECIALLY when you are first starting out! Consistency is KEY and by consistency, I don't just mean streaming once or twice a week, but also consistency regarding:

When you stream What you stream How long you stream

I would highly recommend creating a stream schedule to help remain consistent! Not only that, but it's important to stream at a similar time each time you stream! This is because on Twitch, not only do most people prefer to see streams when they are LIVE, but Twitch will recognize that your channel is active and thus, your stream has a better chance of getting pushed a bit more into the algorithm, ULTIMATELY leading to higher discoverability!

It is also important to remain consistent regarding WHAT you stream! People are less likely to watch you if you are doing something completely different every stream or if you are just doing the same thing every stream! Therefore it is very important that you find a balance in the type of content you create!

My last point for this section is regarding how long you stream! On twitch, longer streams DO BETTER! This is because not everyone is available at the same time, so it takes a bit for your stream to get discovered! When you stream for longer, you are also engaging your viewers for longer, meaning they are more likely to come back^^

Youtube shorts account

Hey guys,
I started making YouTube Shorts a couple of weeks ago as a hobby, mostly editing clips for fun. I’ve been posting daily Jynxzi clips and trying to improve my editing bit by bit.

If anyone is into that kind of content, feel free to check it out and drop a follow. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Webcam upgrade

Hi!

I've been streaming for a month and a half now, and it's gone surprisingly well, the last 30 days I have an average of 8 viewers (which I'm really happy about).

I'm thinking about upgrading my webcam since I have gotten 100 gifted subs already and have some money to spend. I already have a great microphone but I'm using a generic webcam that I got second hand for 15 bucks.

Is a good webcam a smart investment? I would prob spend around 60 bucks on it but I've heard people don't really care about webcam quality, hence why I'm asking.

TIA!
