hello po! curious lang ako kung kumukuha rin ba ng players ang mga uaap schools through tryouts or purely scouting from palarong pambansa, players ng hs team nila, etc?

if may mga tryouts, saan po nakikita 'yung mga infos about it? thanks po! :)

Ranking the 7 uaap schools, what do you think ranks first when it comes to giving their athletes a free pass on their grades because they’re doing their best in their sport?

Realistically, Kiefer, Romeo, and Parks in the 2010s would've been signed but who else would be your picks?

Assuming she plays her final year and they go Back to Back next year.

Medyo naiinis lang ako whenever someone calls for someone’s jersey to be retire. Di pa medyo maaga pa? 😅

Some do deserve it eg Bella Belen, Arwind Santos. Some are 50/50 eg Detdet Pepito (let’s wait pa siguro). May iba naman napaisip ako “buti na lang di nagretire” eg Paul Desiderio, allegations of physical abuse to his partner.

So what should be the criteria? For me:

1. Sports achievement and/or academic excellence since student/athletes sila

2. Lapse of time for public to scrutinize his/her character or legacy. Yung Ateneo, may waiting period before ka manominate sa sports hall of fame nila.

P.S. I also like Ateneo’s system na wala jersey retirement pero may sports hall of fame. Mas ok yun for me. Though they also honor athletes by naming them to a facility or field (Moro Lorenzo, Ed Ocampo field).

3. May nomination process pa and deliberations.

I suggest each school establish their own sports hall of fame for its athletes.

Yung jersey retirement, maybe reserve to deserve individuals.
