UAAP TICKET INQUIRY

hi! i'm an incoming freshman at one of the uaap member schools. as much as i don't want to sound cheap 😭, i just wanted to ask if students from uaap schools can get free tickets to any of the uaap games/events. if yes, is it a one-time thing only, or can students claim tickets multiple times throughout the season?

personally, i'm mostly interested in watching the uaap cheerdance competition. do students from uaap schools usually get free tickets for that, or do they still have to buy them?

also, follow-up question: i'm planning to go with my friend who's enrolled at the university of the philippines manila. i know up manila isn't the uaap member campus (it's up diliman), but since they're both under the up system, would a up manila student also be eligible for any student ticket privileges?

sorry if this is a dumb question. 😅 i genuinely have no idea how ticketing works and just wanted to ask before the season starts. thanks in advance!

Ethan Kaw to UP

I remember watching him play during season88 highschool division while he was still with the blue eagles. I’m excited to see him play for the collegiate level.

We need to protect the surviving players

Amid all the loud online noise, legal debates, and finger-pointing over the Aurora tragedy, we are completely forgetting about the surviving teammates.

It is heartbreaking to see comment sections treating these kids like suspects or accomplices, blasting them with toxic cyberbullying and reckless accusations over manufactured internet scripts and rumors.

For sure may kasamang pagnanasa pa yan. Tatanda niyo na, sahol pa rin.

Grief shouldn't come with online harassment.

The tragedy in Aurora has left two young lives lost and many others forever changed. It's understandable that people want answers and accountability, especially for Rene and Divine and the families who are now grieving.

But there's an important distinction that shouldn't be overlooked: seeking justice is not the same as turning surviving teammates into targets.

These are students who experienced the same traumatic event and are grieving the loss of their friends. Facing that kind of pain is already overwhelming without having to endure online accusations, rumors, and harassment from people who don't know what actually happened.
The investigation should focus on the decisions made by those responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring everyone's safety. If negligence is found, the appropriate individuals should be held accountable through the proper legal process.

Until then, let's not add more suffering to people who are already carrying an unimaginable burden. The surviving players deserve the space to grieve, heal, and cooperate with the investigation—not to become the next victims of internet outrage.

Excluding Ateneo, what are your thoughts so far on the preseason performances of your UAAP teams?

With Season 89 looming, let's discuss how the UAAP teams have performed in the preseason and any observations? I'll list some personal observations of the teams.

UP: Overseas training camp, scrimmages, upcoming AUBL games, new recruits in Coquia for S90. Excited to see how they play against DLSU in Filoil and how consistent their new players are with the system.

UST: Won Asiabasket, and beat DLSU and NU. Peaking in the right time but actual UAAP performance to be determined and the composure of players getting heavier minutes is something to look at.

DLSU: Had a great Asiabasket performance and won a pocket tournament against CM Farm. Still the championship favorites along with UP but the frontcourt questions are still there without a solid FSA and having to rely on Gagate and Pablo and Amos frontline.

FEU: Pretty disappointing right now especially with Pasaol having a bigger target at his back. They need to figure out how to win close games and matching up with the usual title contenders since there has been a lot of hype

NU: Jumamoy has stepped up and the team is still playing well as a unit and curious to see how they perform without the veteran core of Manansala, Enriquez, and Figueroa.

Adamson: Probably will fight with UE in the bottom tier of the standings. This is a rebuilding year, and I want to see how Coach Nash might prove us doubters wrong again.

Andy Gemao shoes

This may be an unusual question but why does Andy Gemao wear Nike shoes in some games even though he is signed with Adidas, specially when he was playing in Canada. I also saw a video of him that his father posted, they were unboxing packages that Adidas sent them but when he played he wore Kobes. The only times I saw him wearing in Adidas was when played in leagues in the Philippines and those Adidas invitational leagues he attended and now that he is in the US. I also just saw a vid of him, I think its new and he is wearing Kobes and also saw I think a story where he uploaded pictures of his Kobes. I just curious because he sponsored by Adidas and he isn’t really loyal, no hate to Andy tho.

Influencers are using the issue of Rene and Divine as content to gain engagements even spreading fake news!

PLEASE DONT FORGET TO BE A HUMAN! STOP SPREADING HATE WITHOUT HAVING ANY EVIDENCE!

See? Let the authorities handle the case and investigate it thoroughly tama na ang pag papakalat ng fake news!

ATENEO COVER-UP?! (Name-dropping the higher-ups inside) 👀🍵

Kailangan pag-usapan kung ano ba talaga ang nangyayari behind the scenes regarding the tragic deaths of Divine Adili at Rene Baterbonia sa Aurora. Nakakasuka na yung mga students pa yung nagiging scapegoats ng mga tao na nandun lang naman for the power trip.

Instead of the adults taking accountability, hinahayaan ng admin na yung mga student managers at mga assistants ang sumalo ng lahat - mga students at staff na wala naman talagang kapangyarihan to approve or dictate major decisions for the team.

Eto yuung mga taong may hawak talaga ng power tapos tanungin natin bakit sila naghuhugas-kamay ngayon:

Si Fr. N. Q. S.J. (Spiritual Director): Always with the boys. (Can't be bothered to be the spiritual director ng women's team?) Make it make sense.

Si Madam D. T.: Sa kanya dumadaan ang funds. Coach Tab Baldwin answers to her.

Are they doing this to protect the institution, o to protect their own power? Divine and Rene deserve justice, and that means holding the actual decision-makers accountable, hindi yung gagawing scape goat yung mga students at staff... anong pinag kaiba nila sa tinatawag nilang kurap kung sila gawain din nila?
