Feeding the pigeons outside of 72nd Street Q Train

Has anyone else encountered/been disgusted by the people feeding the pigeons and the end result outside of the 72nd Street & 2nd Avenue Q subway stop?

On top of this being illegal I'm pretty sure, it leaves a huge mess on the sidewalk for everyone entering/leaving the station, it attracts rats, roaches, and other vermin, and adds to the trash and chaos that that intersection already sees.

I feel like 311 calls have been useless. Can we do something else? Something that actually dissuades (or prohibits) people from unlawfully feeding?

UES/UWS NA Groups? NYC

Hi ladies,

Apologies for using this account. Too ashamed to write this with my usual profile.

The time has come that I must finally admit I’m addicted to a high performance prescription (the little blue one).

I used to take it here and there since undergrad, then started my career in finance and tricked a doctor into giving me a prescription. Even then, I took it very rarely. Just on really hard days.

Then the height of the pandemic hit (April-ish 2020) and I was working on a project that was so near and dear to me. It was everything that was good in the world, so I went full focus on this project to forget all of the bad things happening in the world. Over about 9 months, I had consumed years worth of them I had around my apt.

Idk why I even bothered picking up from the pharmacy over the years, but I did. And I just threw them in a drawer every time, year after year.

Here we are 6 years later, and I’m fully addicted and I want to get help. I don’t want to involve my doctor just yet (don’t want to get flagged for addiction since I take a few meds for my chronic illness….and no, no addiction problems to those meds).

All of this is to say: does anyone know of a good NA group on the UES or UES or nearby? I even had to google which group I would need to go to. I’ve never had addiction problems in the past.

Recommendations here or via DM would be highly appreciated! Thanks!
