What a Classic that crossed genres, live Freek Fm Archives #GarageReport

Before streams, before algorithms — it was aerials on rooftops and FM radios glowing in bedroom windows.

This is a throwback to Freek FM Originals with DJ Clipper in the mix, hosted by Operator — pure underground pirate radio energy straight from the tower block era. Vinyl spinning. Mics live. No safety net. Just raw UK sound.

If you remember tuning the dial late at night trying to catch that frequency through the static… this one’s for you.

Pirate radio built the culture. FM memories never fade.

Terrex - Synrix EP

Hey! Hope you're doing well.

Just released a new EP and thought it might genuinely fit the vibe of your playlist.

One thing I've found interesting is that almost everyone who's listened has picked a different favorite track. There doesn't seem to be an obvious "single" — each track seems to connect with people for different reasons.

It's a bass-focused electronic project built around atmosphere, tension and contrast rather than chasing trends.

If you have a few minutes, I'd love to know which track stands out to you most.

Thanks for your time 🖤

UKG Stab recreation

Could anyone point me in the direction of the synths used to recreate these stabs?
I'm pretty new to production and inspired by the old gritty stabs :)

I've been told the first stab could just be any E piano played as a chord and then sampled. With a few extra tweaks to it

After trying to research what the other stab sounds could be, people are often suggesting they are just m1 organ chords played and thrown into a sampler.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Sound design help

I like the sound of this bass that notion uses in a lot of his dance dubs tracks like the dynamitee dub, however I’m not the greatest at sound design and wondered if anyone could give me some pointers on how to recreate it in serum 2.

Also, if anyone has actually made it already I would really appreciate it if you could let me know how you did it.

Cheers

Meaningful Content + Vibe

Hey - so I have been honing in on my personal style, having written songs for over 25 years now. I started writing and recording myself at age 15. My teachers showed the class my songs and I performed at school talent shows and all that. Mostly coffee house acoustic style.

Then I got into house music and that scene.

Fast forward to today - I’m 40 and finally feel like I’ve found an interesting voice - using my experience and writing girlie and edgy lyrics, that need a home over dance/ukg productions.

But how do I pair up with a producer?

What’s a foolproof way to ensure they’re going to be at the level that I think my words deserve? I’m not so competent with gear/studio equipment so what should I be lookin for - and where? I hate how crowded the internet can be and how risky it is to work with just anybody who claims to be able to build the tracks at the quality I’m looking for.

Here an example of my vibe I’m goin for with these lyrics - no I did not work with a co-writer - but I would.

Remix Opportunities (x3)

Here's a clip of something I started last night & only spent about 1&1/2 hrs on so far so very much a WIP. Has some UKG influences but more mid-00s house vibes, & not what I'd typically make - rather than shelve it, I thought I'd open it up as a remix opportunity for newer producers on here...

https://reddit.com/link/1uh9enj/video/an4b2rzf4v9h1/player

Who this is for:
Producers with 2 years or less experience, or anyone who's been at it longer but hasn't released anything yet. If you're brand new and still finding your feet, that's fine — but I'll need to hear 2 short clips of your work to make sure you're at a reasonable level to take this on.

To be considered, you'll need to share:

  • 2 clips of your productions
  • Your top 3 musical influences and a brief reason for each
  • In no more than 3 sentences — why you started producing and what your long-term goals are

What you get in return:

  • The stems + remix opportunity (obviously)
  • Direct feedback, advice and support from someone with 25 years of production experience
  • Mastering, promotion and a proper release for your remix under standard independent label terms
  • On-going support beyond the release

Maximum 3 spots. DM me if interested and lets go from there....

UKG Drums Templates

Afternoon All,

From what ive seen on here, it seems to be fairly common that programming ukg drums tends to be one of the areas where people appear to be having some difficulties & quite often comes up as a topic of critique in the responses for posts on here... so this is something quick i threw together a couple of months back for someone else on this sub that i just thought it might be helpful to a handful of others here aswell if anyone might wanna grab hold of it guys... just some short loops with accompanying midi files of various ukg drum patterns to help people use as a template to make into their own essentially

if anyone does find these in any way handy, having learnt something valuable from em and/or has any questions when trying em out etc etc - please gimme a shout!!!! (particularly if finding em helpful as if it helps a few ppl and i know it has then id postentially do a few more similar bits too)
