Festivals with the vibe of old boomtown

Been going to Boomtown for the last 10 years and it’s been amazing but I think I’m ready for something else. I’d love a smaller, more alternative festival, more ageing hippies and psychedelics.
I’d like a crowd who will be up for tantric breathing and knitting their own clothes out of pubes.
Considering Shambala or Green Man maybe? Any recommendations?

What's the likelihood of denied entry to Lost Village if I don't change name on the ticket ?

So the deadline for changing your name on a ticket this year for Lost Village, is the 21st August.
I currently don't have a ticket yet as they're still currently quite pricey on Tixel, ( and Tixel are also charging £40 for the name change on top of ticket fee)
If I leave it for a few days/week I might be able to get a cheaper ticket + also dodge the name change fee, however, I obviously run the risk of security getting funny about the name not matching my ID.

There's still hundreds of tick ets available on tixel, so I'm sure there'll still be a lot sold past the 21st deadline. Also, I'm aware that there must be a good chunk of people who are unable to change their name every year that still attend the festival.

What are the chances that the festival turn down a crowd that may reach up to a few hundred people, just for not having the correct ticket name ?

If anyone has any stories/insights on this stuff please let me know!

Bringing in booze to We out Here

Hey friends

I'm a bit skint right now and can't really afford to buy loadsa beers everyday at We Out Here so just wanted to ask how thorough the luggage checks are in case a few extra cans manage to slip into my bags? Any major consequences if caught?

Also, how strict is the rule on no pre-mixed spirits? Seems a bit silly to me.

Cheers and hope you all have a great time!

Our experience this year was top tier

So my friends and I all stayed in downtown camp orchid and honestly we couldn’t have been happier thanks to a group we spoke to whilst looking for a spot to camp We had SPACE around us! The closest tents to us were far enough that we could all play our own music without annoying each other. The people around us were all lovely and the showers and food spots were a short distance and not busy if you timed it correctly and clean for the most part. We enjoyed it much better than staying up the stairs in orchard last year bc that walk up and down every day multiple times would’ve taken us out in the heat and dust of this year. brought in all my own food and drink / shared with mates and managed to spend a total of £40 and then get back £20 for ecobond and I’m very happy with myself as opposed to spending hundreds years prior so would deffo recommend this! Camping downtown this year meant we could go back to the tents multiple times a day to refill booze, eat, shower /nap and it was an absolute life saver.

The hideaway was amazing! Was such a shout for getting out of the sun and the frozen margs were top tier.
Went to a lot of amazing sets like IVY Killamanjaro B2B Oppidan Ashnikko Anais One Da Skrillex the only one we saw that was a mess was bloody Donaeo from the sound issues to the constant rewinds don’t know what happened there 🤣

Sunday night after everything was done a group close to us were playing music out loud and a few of the tents came together for a dance! (Shout out to everyone there, coming together over my friend screaming at 5am because a mouse got into and then under her tent😭🤣)

the staff we found to be great this year with one guy specifically stopping my friend (with a bad leg) on our way in and getting another member to pull his 300l trolley up the hill.
Couldn’t believe the queue to get in, we got up the hill and into camp orchid within 45 minutes compared to hours last year, the security seemed to be a lot more relaxed which was great. We did find the way out to be a bit of a mess the queue for the public transport were insane so we waited it out in the heat with no shade for 3 hours until the queue went down as my friend physically could not stand in the queue for that amount of time and despite being reminded didn’t get himself accessibility help pre boom.

Overall we had a sick time and our already planning next year, I hope everyone had as good of a time as we did and we’d like to apologise to anyone that were affected by the multiple water fights we had around the site on Saturday 😭🤣💦

Did anyone find sweatbox this year? We found it every year before but couldn’t locate it anywhere this year 😭

Thoughts on We Out Here upcoming weather?

I saw that there will be like 75%! rain on the days of the festival. This is my first time coming. Thoughts?

WOH – solo woman from Paris – looking for accommodation

Hi! Just got a resale ticket for We Out Here and I’m coming solo from Paris, (Friday-Monday).

I am travelling without camping gear, so looking for spare space in someone’s existing accommodation (happy to pay/contribute of course), or a full accommodation booking to resell. Ideally looking to share with another woman or a friendly group :)

Thanks!

Lost village security

Hey guys so with lost village coming up I’m gonna be taking my own supplies due to not having a clue what I’m buying off strangers, I’d much rather bring my own party supply’s then chance buying it off randoms.

What is the security like once the dog alerts? Are they even strict with the search or quite light. It’s my first time attending lost village.

We Out Here Festival 2026 - Woov App alternative

Hi all, WOH first timer here!

Excited for it, I saw a post/comment about an alternative to the woov app or a full timetable that can accessed off line.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please, I can't seem to find it again.

Looking forward to the weekend.

Lost Village - arrival time

I've seen conflicting views online about what time you can safely arrive to Lost Village and still find a good camping spot.

We are planning to arrive on the Thursday around 11:30, but wondering if we can risk getting there any later? We'll be a group of 4 initially, but would ideally like to save a bit of space for mates who will likely turn up a bit later.

Festival Wellbeing & Recovery Survey

Hi all!

We are a team of researchers from UCL that were at The Observatory this weekend and we are conducting a study on festival wellbeing and recovery practices. We would appreciate it if you could please complete this short 5-10min survey about what you do to help recovery (i.e. supplements, harm reduction etc) which will help guide future research at next years Boomtown.

Click this link to go to the survey

Thanks for your support and contributing to our research! 😊

smaller festivals with a mix of DnB & Progressive House/Techno

My friends always go to Boomtown and we're in our late 30s and i really can't be arsed with a festy that big, they're into DnB but also enjoy House/Techno, ideally looking for something next year i can convince them to ditch Boomtown for a year, bonus points for pretty locations/forests, i guess anything less than 20,000 people, thanks for your help!

edit: will check all these out thanks! :)

Lost Village Boutique Camping Dogs

Does anyone have any experience whether there are sniffer dogs at the boutique camping entrance as well as the GA one? Worried that there will be less people going through this entrance so if there are dogs will be much easier to be caught

reading security

me and my mates are 17 looking to take some drinks and green into reading wondering if we will get asked for id by security and what the dogs and searches are like and if so what’s the best way to avoid getting stopped by the dogs

Security at WOH

Just wondered how thorough the searches are for contraband and alcohol at the festival. Get the impression it’s quite a chill festival and the level of security will reflect that, but would be good to prepared if that’s not the case and hide appropriately

Is it worth going lost village if I can only go from Friday to Sunday?

Hey,

As the title suggests, I can’t get the Thursday/Friday off work so was wondering if anyone has just done the Friday evening until Sunday - is it still worth attending or would I be missing too much of the festival?

I already have my ticket etc, but weighing up whether it is worth going for what would be 2 and half days of festival rather than 4?

Thanks!

Does We Out Here check names against the ticket?

I have a ticket in my name which a friend is now taking. Do they check against ID's or can someone use use the scanning link on entry?

We out here festival 26

Is anybody sneaking in or has snuck in to this festival previously? Wondering how difficult it is, just a simple fence hop or a bit more complicated.

I already assume people are gonna give me shit saying just pay for a ticket brokie and what not, to that I say, just let some youngsters enjoy some music ffs not like we’re out here to cause trouble. No pun intended.

We Out Here - phone reception

Have heard it's not great... Just wondering from previous years if there is one network that is better than others?

(Very much up for no internet but also want to be able to find mates via text/whatsapp!)
