What certifications transfer into the cybersecurity masters program, the only thing I was able to find was CCIE which confused me because I thought that was a networking cert. I just passed CISSP and I’m confused on why that does not qualify for the masters and only for the undergraduate.
I honestly believe that if a student passes all their major coursework with As, then this course should be automatically satisfied.
I have no idea why my previous success coach never recommended this course earlier in my coursework selection two years ago.
Of course, I have to take this course at UMGC to be eligible for financial aid.
In charity, wish me luck! It’s my last course. 😬
Looking to enroll in a graduate program at UMGC shortly, and have a few questions. Are the courses within a particular degree program (HR in my case) readily available each semester? Is there a possibility that a during a particular term certain classes aren’t offered, forcing one stop skip a term prior to fulfilling the program requirements?
Has anyone completed graduate courses using the Post 9/11 GI Bill? I was reading on their website that 3 graduate credits is considered an 80% pursuit rate. I just want to verify that this is the case. (I will be attending all courses virtually; so I would be getting 80% of the online rate.)
I have two electives remaining I need to take to finish up my MBA program.. any recommendations out there? Looking for something that isn't on the harder side and something people enjoyed.
Good Morning everyone! Congrats to all the grads and new alumni! I participated in grad walk yesterday, and I know that UMGC will send a email with photo and videos of you when walking the stage.
However, I'm curious about the professional pictures that were taken in the celebration room (I think that's what it was called, can't remember). How do we get access to those?
Why do I gotta pay a extra 50$ for graduation when I’ve already paid 10s of thousands for classes. It makes no sense to me. But anyways CONGRATULATIONS UMGC CLASS OF 2026!🎉
My AAR shows WRTG 393 or any other Upper Level (300-499) WRTG course. Any recommendations if I should take 391 Advanced Research Writing, 393 Advanced Technical Writing, or 394 Advanced Business Writing with UMGC? Or take WRTG 393 on study.com? I have completed the other 2 writing classes and this is my last one. I HATE writing and want to take the easiest route possible to pass this class.
If you weren’t already working in Cyber how is job hunting going? Was the program worth it? Are there any regrets?
So the Pace 111 course took me by surprised as it was a university exclusive course that required payment. I wasn’t able to qualify for the free one, but I am curious if this course is transferable to other schools?
Clarification: after my bachelors in finance I was taking religion classes as it’s my passion then decided to go for my CPA and then ended up in this position. I’m so upset over this.
I'm taking this class in the summer, how is it? A lot of work? Exams?
Hi! There’s so much conflicting information about this online. Basically over three years ago, I was going to college online. I had a few fail classes during Covid when I had my daughter and my husband was deployed and then I had about four withdrawals a few years later. I had absolutely no idea withdrawals affected your transcript in a negative way which now seems very obvious, but I just didn’t. All of those factored in to me not meeting SAP requirements when I went to re-enroll at my old school. When I reached out to the financial aid department at this school, the representative told me that only accepted transferred classes are factored into the SAP score that they give you and that they do not factor withdrawals into that. I have filled out my financial aid form and just am waiting for the process, but it is taking a while to see if they will accept financial aid for me at the school and what my score is. My GPA is over the 2.0 required. I think this is more the percentage of classes I attempted first finished something like that.
Does anyone have a similar situation who transferred their credits here?
I work full time and have 4 young children, my goal was to get my bachelor’s as quickly as possible.
After 2 very long years (thanks to the Sophia classes) I finally got my Bachelor’s in Business Administration AND maintained a 4.0!
I am so proud of myself and I know my children will enjoy the fact that I have no more homework.
Hi,
So I just did my first semester at UMGC. I took two classes and didn’t do much in either class until the last week , when I turned everything in. I procrastinate. One professor grades everything and gave me a B the other failed me. So, I got an academic probation email. The email said I retake only what’s been failed which normally would be fine, however to continue to get benefits I would need 6 credit, has anyone been through this and was able to take the 6 credits? I was registered for two other classes and just got dropped from them. I would call but, I don’t believe advising is open until Monday. Thank you
Anyone taking a biology class and plus lab? Is it hard? Because I’m in the Army and my mos is 11B and idk how hard this class is gonna be because we spend a lot of time in the field.
Between a 40-hour work week and these constant discussion posts that feel like they're being graded by a bot, I feel like I’m barely coming up for air.
Does anyone else feel like the "accelerated" 8-week format is getting more intense? I love the flexibility of UMGC, but man, trying to prep for proctored OAs while managing actual life is a lot.
The tassel that came with my cap & gown doesn’t have a year on it. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to. The colorful one that came in the UMGC congratulations box had a year on it. Which one do we wear?
