I've been applying for a variety of those. A month has passed, no news, just a bunch of DoAs hanging there. How do people get there?? Do they send rejections?

If you served as a UNV under a national or international contract, your story about your experience with UNV is welcomed here. You can be completely open about who you are, where you served, where you're from and what you did, or you can keep it vague, to protect your identity:

• You can say you are someone from the USA who served as an international UNV in Sub Sahara Africa in the late 1990s, and describe what you did.
• Or that you are someone from Western Europe who served as an international UNV in a Spanish-speaking country in the mid 2000s, and describe what you did as a UNV.
• Or that you served as a national UNV in Kenya, and describe what you did as a UNV but without so much detail that someone could figure out who you are.

It would be great if you could include:

• How you heard about UN Volunteers.
• Why you applied.
• What your interview was like.
• What you thought when you got word that you were accepted.
• What your experience was like (what you accomplished, what challenged you, what you learned, etc.)
• What languages you spoke well enough to work in at the time.
• What kind of university degree(s) you had at the time.
• Your advice for people that want to be a UNV.
• What you're doing now (again, you can keep it vague, to protect your identity).

Reminder / disclaimer: the UNV subreddit is NOT an official UNV group. Official UNV information is posted here, but from other sources, such as UNV's official social media accounts on Facebook and LinkedIn, or the official web site.
