I-485 NOID question confused about USCIS updates

Hi everyone, I’m really confused about my I-485 case and would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.(FOR MORE INFO CHECK MY PROFILE I HAVE ANOTHER POST)

My I-485 is employment-based (EB-3). I had my interview on August 4, 2026.

On August 10, I contacted USCIS/Emma and was told there was a “Notice of Intent to Deny” on my case.

I contacted USCIS again with different representatives:

• One representative confirmed 08/10/2026 — Notice of Intent to Deny.
• Another representative said “A NOID has not been sent.”
• A third representative also saw 08/10/2026 — Notice of Intent to Deny, but said they could not tell me whether it was actually sent.
• I have not received a NOID by mail.
• There is no NOID in my USCIS online account/Documents.
• My USCIS case history does not show a NOID.

Then on August 18, my USCIS account updated to:

“USCIS Is currently Processing the Case.”

My backend case data also showed a new FTA1 event on August 18. The case is still open, with no RFE/evidence request and no action required showing.

I’m confused because if a NOID was actually issued on August 10, why has it still not appeared in my account or been mailed after 9 days?

Has anyone experienced an internal NOID/“intent to deny” update that was never actually sent? Did USCIS later cancel/not issue the NOID, or did it arrive later?

Also, does anyone know what an FTA1 event after an I-485 interview usually means?

After a very long wait, my EB-3 Other Workers I-485 was finally approved today! I’ve followed this subreddit throughout the process, so I wanted to share my timeline for anyone else still waiting.

My case was pending for over 4 years after filing I-485 and about 5 years from my priority date.
The interview was employment-based and focused mainly on my immigration/employment history, sponsoring employer, job offer, and the information in my application.
For everyone with an old EB-3 Other Workers priority date who has been stuck waiting because of retrogression: there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

This might be a dumb question but I was talking with Emma today and entered the receipt number for my form I-485J instead of my I-485 and the live agent told me the case was at the Santa Ana FO.

Later I tried another chat and entered my I-485 receipt and got that my case is at Orlando FO.

Can forms be processed at different field offices?

Any April filers still waiting for EAD ? no movement after biometrics.

Mar. 4, 2026: My I-485, I-765, and I-485J were filed.
Mar. 20: My I-485 biometrics notice was generated.
Mar. 26: My I-485J IAF receipt/intake event was created.
Apr. 9: I completed biometrics. My I-485 received 2 FTA0 events. My I-765 received 3 FTA0 events.
Jun. 22: My I-765 got a top-level silent update.
Jul. 29: My I-485 and I-485J got synchronized top-level backend updates. My wife’s I-485 also updated within the same fraction of a second.
Aug. 11: My I-485 received a 3rd FTA0, newly created but backdated to Apr. 9. My wife’s I-485 got the same type of 3rd FTA0 only 0.388 seconds later.
Aug. 13 at 9:33 AM LA time: My I-485 and my wife’s I-485 got synchronized top-level silent updates only 0.059 seconds apart.
Aug. 13 at 11:35 AM LA time: My I-485 received a 4th FTA0. My I-765 also received a new FTA0 only 0.202 seconds apart.
Aug. 13 at 11:51 AM LA time: My I-485 FTA0, my I-765 FTA0, and my I-485J IAF event were all updated within about 0.1 second.
Aug. 14-18: No newer event has appeared in the JSON I checked.
Current status: My I-485 has 4 FTA0s, is at the Philadelphia Field Office, remains closed:false, and shows no H008, FTA1, RFE, or action required. My I-485J is still open, and my I-765 has 4 FTA0s. The latest meaningful event-level activity across my cases was on Aug. 13 at 11:51 AM LA time.

Mine is silent since 2026/6/30 with FTA1

I did my fingerprints on 03/17, Emma told me my interview is waived, but since then only silence (I'm EB3 employment based). anybody in the same boat?

After getting GC through employment EB3. Can I change the employer right after, or do I have to work for them for a period of time so it doesn't affect my citizenship later?

Trying to see if there’s any pattern among cases with this 8/5 → 8/13 sequence.

Posting to see if anyone has a comparable timeline, because I've had no status change in over six months and I'm trying to figure out whether this is normal or whether something is stuck.

Timeline (all filed online, NBC):

- Category: EB-3, India. Priority date: Dec 5, 2013. I-140 approved.

- I-485 + I-765 (c09) + I-131 filed concurrently: Dec 18, 2025

- I-485J (Supplement J) receipted separately: Jan 23, 2026

- Biometrics completed: Feb 2, 2026 (Florida ASC)

- I-485 and I-765 both flipped to "USCIS is currently processing your case" on Feb 2, 2026

- Since then: nothing. No EAD, no AP, no interview notice, no RFE, no transfer. All four cases unchanged for ~6.5 months.

EAD is now roughly 8 months pending, which is what's bothering me most.

Questions for anyone who's been here:

1. Anyone who filed I-485/I-765 concurrently around Nov–Dec 2025 — has your EAD or AP been approved yet? What was the gap from biometrics to card production?

2. Is ~8 months normal for a c09 EAD at NBC right now, or is that outside the pattern?

3. Does "currently processing" sitting unchanged for 6+ months actually mean anything, or is it just the default message that never updates until a decision?

4. For those who got tired of waiting — what actually produced information? e-Request outside normal processing time, CIS Ombudsman (DHS-7001), congressional inquiry, or FOIA on the A-file? Which one gave you a real answer rather than a form response?

5. Anyone with a 2013 EB-3 India priority date approved in the last few months — what did your post-biometrics timeline look like?

Happy to compare notes with anyone in the same filing window. Not asking for legal advice, just trying to calibrate against real timelines.

RD April 28, 2026 for I-485. concurrent filing and I-140 already approved.
Received the receipt notice for I-485 on July 30, 2026 - this already took forever....
and I still don't see any biometrics appointment coming through.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for experiences from people who have filed a writ of mandamus for a long-pending I-485. I filed my mandamus on May 22, 2026, the summons was issued on May 26, 2026, and PACER still only shows the original complaint, summons issuance, and referral to a magistrate judge. There has been no visible government response or other new docket entry so far. My I-485 has been pending since November 2022, and my priority date has been current since May 2026. USCIS recently told me that the field office is actively reviewing my case and that the last review was on August 13, but I still have no RFE or final decision. PACER also shows a 90-Day Case Review deadline for August 19. For anyone who had a similar mandamus timeline, what happened around or after the 90-day point? Did USCIS take action first, did the government file something with the court, or did your case continue beyond 90 days? I would really appreciate hearing your timelines and experiences.
