based I-485 is pending 🙏

Timeline:
- I-130 filed: June 2025
- I-485 / I-765 filed: October 2025
- Biometrics completed: November 2025
- Expedite request submitted to USCIS: March 17, 2026
- March 20, 2026: USCIS informed me they were unable to approve my expedite request
- Reached out to my Representative for help: March 18, 2026
My Representative’s office kept submitting inquiries and consistently updated me. Around mid-April 2026, USCIS responded that my case was still within normal processing times and I just needed to wait.
- On May 12, 2026, I got a “we have taken action on your case” email for my I-485, but there were no documents in the account—just a message saying my case was still being processed.
- Then yesterday, USCIS emailed my Representative saying they accepted my case for expedite review.
- Today, May 20, 2026, I received another “we have taken action on your case” email, and when I logged in, my I-765 was finally approved 🎉🙏
I honestly lost hope, so getting approved the next day after the congressional inquiry update shocked me.
Still waiting for “Card Is Being Produced” and the physical EAD card, but I’m extremely thankful and relieved after months of stress and waiting.
Sharing this because reading other people’s timelines here helped me stay hopeful during the process. Wishing approvals for everyone still waiting 🙏

Congressional Inquiry

I130 PD October 2025
Filled I485 and I765 November 2025
Biometrics Done in December 2025

I did an expedited request on USCIS website and through my local congresswoman on April 5, 2026.

Got a letter back from my congresswoman on May 15 that USCIS accepte my expedited request and I see the API updated the same date.

Got an email on May 16 action taken but it was for the I485 moved to case is still being processed and API updated with FT0 code.

I called USCIS and they said my expedited request is still being processed. Could that be my own request but the congresswoman request got approved? Realistically speaking when can I expect approval

Address Update

Address updated in USCIS account for I-130, but profile still shows old address. anyone else experience this?

We updated the petitioner’s address in our USCIS online account for our I-130, and we’ve done it twice now, but the profile section still displays the old address.

Has anyone run into this before? Is there a known lag between what shows in the profile vs. what’s actually saved in their internal system?

Our main concern is this: if USCIS uses the old address on file, the interview could get scheduled in a completely different state from where we’ve actually been living for the past year.

Any advice or similar experiences appreciated!

Rejected again… filed i485, i765, i131

Same reason, payment amount did not match the required amount.
We have sent separate g1650 (x3) for each individual form with correct amounts of I485 = $1440, I765 = $260, I131 = $630.
Lawyer also sent the notice of receipt for I130 with payment received shown on the same form. I130 was filed online last Feb 2026 and case priority date is already current based on visa bulletin, hence, applying these 3 forms.
We also got 4 rejection notice, one being a rejection notice for I130, which is petition for alien relative, which was already approved previously and receipt notice was already received.

Lawyer is saying this is USCIS mistake, And I am waiting for next steps. Does anybody have the same experience?

AOS from B2 visa

Hello everyone. I'd appreciate any help regarding my case. Context:

I had a pending immigration case (I-130) that got approved in August 2025. I fall under the "Unmarried Under 21 Son of U.S citizen category (IR-2)" as my dad is a USC.

In january 2026, I got B-2 visitor visa approved, and I came to the US for my mothers birthday (both my parents live here) with the intent of going back and continuing my case. Infact, I was going to the UK next as I had my UK visa and hotel bookings to visit some relatives. However, due to the 75 country immigration pause, after waiting for almost 3 months for any update regarding the pause, we decided that AOS might be the better option. I then filed I-485 along with I-765, and attached copy of I-130 ofcourse. I've already gotten my receipt notice (I-797C) for both forms.

  1. If possible, if you are familiar with any case similiar to mine, please give me some approx timelines, as MOST cases i see online for AOS are either employment or marriage based, so I dont have any idea how long will my process take.

  2. Will i have any trouble at the Green card interview? I shouldnt be worried because, well AOS is a completely legal process and you do get a legal period of authorized stay, but because of the recent political situation, it is making me a bit concerned.

  3. I'm 20, and my education has been affected alot as my case has been going on from almost 2019 (i havent added those details as they are irrelavent now). I really want to start my education back. Is the I-797c receipt notice enough to get admission in a community college and/or get a driving license? (im from virginia btw) This might seem like a stupid question, but a few people have told me to try, and even google says it is possible for both.

Any help in any form would be really appreciated.

Got "we have taken an action on your case" email

I got an email that says "we have taken an action on your case". But when I log in to the USCIS website and click on the "Case History" under I-485, there's an update like below.

May 17, 2026
Status
Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS
Date
May 17, 2026

What does this mean?

F2A timeline (AOS married to GC holder)
I-130 received 10/24/25 (PD)
I-485, I-765 received 12/17/25
Biometrics scheduled 12/27/25 (for 1/14/26)
Biometrics taken 1/14/26

Case Update

My USCIS interview is already scheduled, but today my case status updated to “case is still being processed.”
Does this mean my interview got canceled or is this a normal update before interview? I checked under docs tab nothing is there.

However I just check API FTA0, in (JSON) data base checkes received.

standalone i-130 wait time?

With the f2a category getting quite the advancement in the recent months I feel like it will hit our PD before we even get our i-130 approved.

How long does it roughly take for a i-130 standalone ?

We are f2a and doing consulate. I know we can’t advance unless PD is current. I feel like most people list minimum of 2-3 years but they usually include the entire timeline until they receive the visa.

I simply want to know how fast you heard back from just the i-130 being approved. Thanks!

Edit: We filed through an immigration lawyer and back when we first filed he said to roughly estimate 18months. Whether that’s true or not 😅

PD: Oct 2024 - AOS – How much longer to wait?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to gauge how much longer the wait is going to be for our i130 approval.

Category: F2A - AOS

Country: India

Priority Date: October 2024

Any timeline updates or insights on i130 approvals from other F2A applicants would be massively appreciated.

Visiting spouse on Visitor visa while I130 is processing

Spouse has valid visitor visa and I130 is pending since Dec 2023 in consular processing.

Spouse has full time job, renting an apartment and other responsibilities for her to return to.

Will CBP allow my spouse to visit me and go back? Or will it be denied and negatively impact I130 in process?

Anyone Else Waiting on EAD? F2A Sept 2025 I-485/I-765

Married to an LPR (green card holder).

My timeline:

  • I-130 filed: Feb 2025
  • I-485 + I-765 (EAD) filed: Sept 2025

The new Visa Bulletin now shows Jan 2025 for F2A. Based on current trends, what timeline should I realistically expect for GC approval and EAD?

Also still waiting on my EAD. My I-485 recently updated, but the status still says:

“Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS”

No actual change in wording or approval yet.

Anyone with a similar timeline or recent approvals?

RFE after I-485 interview

I had an interview on April 28, 2026, the officer let us upload RFE through the website directly instead of waiting for the RFE notice letter. On May 4, I saw a silent update, is it background check under the new policy?

Later on May 8th, I uploaded RFE on the website, on the same day, i can see API update for the RFE queue.

Since that, no update anymore from the system… How long shall I expect to wait for the approval ?

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with EADs and the mystery of why they aren't getting approved?

6 months—180 days—waiting for EAD approval.

No job.

No income.

100% legal immigrant, following all procedures and rules.

EAD C09- AOS Married to LPR

I-765/ I-131/ I-485 submitted on November 14, 2025. Biometrics on 12/23/2025.

No update, absolute silence.

What is really going on? What is the catch?
