Taking over my parents' USM Haller shelf. Best way to disassemble and fit it in a small hatchback?

I have the chance to take over a large USM Haller shelf from my parents (2 bays wide, ~6 levels tall, some glass shelves, chrome frame). I want to move it myself and I'm trying to figure out two things:

  1. Disassembly: What tools do I actually need? I've read that the connectors sit tight in the balls and that you need a 5mm ball-head Allen key + PH2 screwdriver at minimum, but ideally the USM ratchet + connector puller. Is the aftermarket tool set worth it, or can I get away with household tools?
  2. Transport: I'm moving it in a small hatchback (Peugeot 208). Fully disassembled, is one trip realistic or should I plan two? Any tips on protecting the glass shelves?
  3. Overall Difficulty: Is it doable by 2 persons in a regular timeframe?

Anyone who's done this — what would you do differently? Thanks!

Lowboard and cat seat

I ordered all single parts and have assembled this myself. What do you think?

Any chance I could get help legit checking these pieces?

Going to go check them out in person tomorrow, but hoping to get some more eyes on them beforehand. I’ll add additional photos in the thread!

How to remove the lower short extension tubes on my USM Haller unit so it sits directly on the feet?

Hi everyone,
I have a USM Haller sideboard / TV unit and I’m looking to lower its height. Right now, it has short extension tubes (about 10 cm / 4 inches) at the very bottom between the main lower shelf frame and the bottom leveling feet.
I’d like to completely remove these short vertical tubes and attach the bottom leveling feet directly into the lower grid spheres (the ones that run along the bottom of the main compartments).
Since moving the entire unit to a shop isn't an option, I'd prefer to do this myself if possible rather than paying for an expensive technician visit.

A few questions for the DIY experts here:

  1. Is this a straightforward job to do at home?
  2. What specific tools will I need to release the connectors inside those short tubes?
  3. Are there any tricks to doing this without disassembling the rest of the unit?

Thanks in advance for any advice or tool recommendations!
