AI in teaching materials - Paramedicine

Hi guys! Just want your thoughts.

Is anyone else bothered by the amount of AI being used in teaching materials? I've included a screenshot below of a particularly egregious example. Just wondering what the general consensus is.

Personally I'm of the 'if you can't be bothered writing it why would I bother reading it' camp, but curious to know your thoughts. ngl I would expect academics to be able to produce competent academic writing without a machine, as well as the many ethical issues with AI.

Is there any avenue to file a complaint without making the lecturers hate me? Does TUSA have any thoughts on this? I'm paying to be taught by humans, not ChatGPT.

Annotated the big AI giveaways (didn't get all of them but you get the idea)
Red = em dash
Yellow = triple construction
Green = antithesis

Trying to figure out what young Australians actually want from a money app

I'm currently at Uni and trying to build a small app called Larna. It's just me at the moment. It connects to your bank through Australia's open banking system, sorts your spending automatically, and tries to tell you something useful about it. No manual entry, no spreadsheets.

Before I build any more of it I want to know what people actually need instead of being stuck with what I assume they need. I've. tried to put together a short survey its under 5 minutes, anonymous, no bank details, nothing to sign up for.

What I'm hoping to learn: what your bank's app already does well, where it falls short, and which features are worth building versus which ones sound good and would never get used. Honest answers help me far more than encouraging ones. If something on the list sounds pointless, say so.

These answers go straight into what gets built. It'll be free for uni students. Please let me know if you have any feedback for the survey as well.

Also happy to post a summary of the results back here once responses are in.

Hobart music community sucks.

I've moved from the mainland, and i've been studying music at the con for a while now. But for some reason or another i just CANNOT seem to get any opportunities whatsoever to play, both in the community, paid gigs or at the uni. Can someone please explain this exclusivity to me? I have sent dozens of emails, and spoken to so many conductors and admin staff/directors. I literally just can't get my foot in the door for anything. Why is Hobart like this ffs?
