Hey - does anyone think we're in for a wave of Transfer Admissions (including Cockrell) in the next few hours or at least by the end of today?

External Transfer Admission Wave for Engineering by this Friday? (As of June 4, 2026)

Hey - just wondering if anyone thinks we might get another wave of admissions this week (at least for Engineering)?
They’re keeping us on edge with all this waiting and I’m trying really hard not to stress about this 😭🙏
Note to everyone that reads this: Please, manifest a wave by tomorrow into existence 🙏🙏🙏

Rising Senior wondering about Computational Engineering Major

I'm a rising hs senior and Texas resident hoping to pursue a CS/SWE career. I'm auto-admit and have solid stats, but my ECs are def on the lighter side -- so ik UTCS is a major reach for me.

I've been looking into Computational Engineering (COE) at UT Austin as an alternative and had a couple of questions for anyone familiar with the program:

  1. Is COE significantly less competitive to get into than CS, even for auto-admit students where major placement still matters?

  2. Can a COE degree realistically lead to a software engineering career, or does it skew more toward scientific/simulation roles?

Any insight from current students, alumni, or people who've gone through the process would be hugely appreciated!

External Transfer to UT Econ (Spring '27) — Summer Calc Question

Hey guys, I'm currently an upcoming sophomore transferring from the PSA program to the TAMU campus this following Fall. I'm currently an Econ major, but I also want to shoot my shot at transferring to UT Austin for Spring 27. UT Austin has always been my dream school, and I chose not to do the CAP program because I was afraid I wouldn't make it to the main campus this year, so I did PSA for TAMU instead. I was just wondering for any econ majors at UT Austin external transfer. Did anyone take Math 2413 (Calculus 1) and Math 2414 (Calculus 2) before transferring? I know UT highly recommends students to take it. I'm currently trying to register for Calculus 1 for Summer 1 at Blinn and Calculus 2 for Summer 2. Apparently, there are prerequisites to take the MPE or College Algebra and Trigonometry to start Calculus 1 at Blinn. I might be cooked because the deadline for Summer 1 is June 1st (in a few days), and I want to be able to get done with both Calculus in the summer to get it out of my way when I apply to transfer for Spring at UT. My current GPA is 3.7, which isn't that good for UT, but I want to know what else it would take in order to transfer into UT for the Spring, which has a high chance. If anyone could help out, that would be highly appreciated.
