Hey everyone,
I just did back-to-back test drives of the Jaecoo J7 SHS and the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV (both 2027 models).
Even though they share parent tech, the handling difference was massive.
Need some unfiltered owner advice on these points:
Handling & Ride Comfort:
Jaecoo J7: The steering felt very light and twitchy at speed. The regenerative braking and throttle mapping felt jerky, making a smooth stop tough. Honestly, it felt uncomfortable for long highway cruises.
Tiggo 7: Much more progressive, compliant, and predictable. The pedal transitions and ride comfort felt way smoother.
Question: Does the J7’s twitchy handling/jerkiness get better once you adapt, or does it stay exhausting on the highway? Have software updates fixed this?

I’m looking at a 1989 RHD Hilux with some non-original mods: suspension lift + aftermarket wheels.
RTA classic car registration requires “authentic/original condition.” My main question is: does a lift kit fail inspection outright, or is it case-by-case? Is the suspension change a dealbreaker?
