Pretty sure I just met a Serial Killer

Yeah I'm pretty certain I just met one.

Guy orders wing stop, delivery was super easy, the pay was good, etc. ..and then I roll up to the apartment complex. The drop off is at the base of a canyon road, as soon I step out of the car there was this... Uncomfortable feeling, Either way get inside the building, the buildings are old, no Ac and smelled like swamp ass, find the apartment and knock on the door as it's "meet at the door" drop off. Whatever I'm chillin, doing my job. Then... The guy opens the door, it's the middle of the day and it's pitch black inside his apartment. And the smell hit me harder, the smell of decay, I've smelt it before in my life unfortunately. And he's staring at me, his eyes wide and the creepiest goddamn grin I've ever seen in my life, dude legit looked like Naughty Fred from Courage the cowardly dog, and even sounded like him, "Thaaank yooouuuu" he says super quietly. And slowly backs into the darkness and shuts the door, never breaking eye contact. I ran so fast back to my car... Never again!!

Being an Uber Eats driver is a mental battle we rarely talk about

As a female driver 🏃‍♀️, I’m going to be real—there are days I sit in my car and just break down 😭

People really don't see the reality behind the app.

Dealing with the brutal 100°F+ 🌞☀️ Phoenix summer heat is draining enough, but then you combine that with the constant stream of $2-$3 lowball offers, the heat exhaustion, and the toxic "anti-tipper" culture mocking us online. 💸💵

By the time I get home, I’m mentally and physically fried.

But the worst part? The false accusations. Working so hard, handling the food with care, only to get a "missing order" report because a customer wanted a free meal? It’s heartbreaking. 💔💔

Getting a warning from Uber when you know you did everything right—it makes you question why you're even out here. It’s not just about the money; it’s about being treated with basic human respect.

I have so much respect for the drivers who keep a tough exterior out there, but I know a lot of us are struggling behind the scenes. We’re all fighting invisible battles.

Please stay hydrated, take breaks when you need to, and remember to be kind to yourself and each other.

We are more than just a delivery icon on a map. 💙

my experience working as an bicycle delivery guy on uber eats! 🚴🏽‍♂️

I'm 21(M) and I'm from Canada 🇨🇦

This post is like a little journal thingy, of me recounting my experience working with Uber eats.

I've been doing Uber Eats food deliveries on my bike, and sometimes I do it early morning from 12 AM to 5 AM because that's the time when all the roads are empty and i have the most fun riding my bike! and also the people are still hungry, so I get delivery requests back-to-back.

But whenever I greet the merchants/restaurant workers or the customers during this hour, they see me on my bike and look at me with such a proud look in their eyes.

It feels like they probably see me as the underdog kid working hard to make his way in life, and it's so visible on their face that they're rooting for me.

They also tip good and write good things about me in the reviews. I lowkey don't even do uber deliveries for the money, it is a plus point but I love doing uber deliveries because i love cruising through my city on my bike, and on top of that i get to interact with sych nice people! I love interacting with these people, and it's such an awesome job. I can practically feel these people bless me and wish for good things to happen to me. Or maybe I'm overthinking this lol, but sometimes people shake my hand or compliment me, and it really makes my day!

This one time I did a delivery to a hospital, and there was this old guy standing outside the hospital in his patient clothes. When he saw me park my bicycle and walk up to him, he was genuinely so amazed. He told me, "You guys really fascinate me, you probably have to pedal a long way to deliver food," and I told him how I really enjoy biking. He gave me a good tip after I completed the delivery, but I feel just like Spider-Man the way people treat me as a dekivery worker at night. They love me.

Every single order I’ve seen is shit

Is this normal? Why the fuck would I drive 40+ minutes for $8? Do people really take this stuff? I just started, I’ve been an Instacart shopper for 4 years. Was hoping to make some extra with uber eats but these offers are actually insulting and surprising that anyone takes anything. Is it just because I’m new?

Anyone else get this bonus?

Didnt get any email Or notice about this, I was doing UE daily from March till early July trying to pay off some medical bills while going through chemo, went back to my regular job the first week of July and it’s exhausting trying to do both so haven’t really been on UE. happened to open the app last night and saw the bonus there didnt believe it till I made 5 deliveries tonight and got the first $150 going to do the rest tomorrow, never seen a bonus this good has anyone else? I’m thinking it’s prolly to get me to come back to delivering and I would much rather do this than my regular job, if I didn’t need insurance due to this stupid Cancer, I be doing gig work without a doubt.

Genuinely curious...

But who in their right mind is accepting shop and pay orders without actually seeing the types of units beforehand?

Got a non moving traffic citation

So yesterday I parked by a curb in the plaza to pick up an order from a smoothie place. Order was taking a bit and I saw a cop car pull behind my car I walked out to my car as he was getting out and told him it was my car. He told me to park in a parking spot and then proceeded to write me a ticket. The ticket was for “unattended vehicle”. What option should I go with as this is a no points citation. If I just pay the fine $116 I will be done but I guess that’s admission of guilt. Option 2 is get those traffic ticket who will charge $80 plus court fees (outcome will be dismissed or most likely withheld adjudication) I was thinking of just paying the fine online and be done with it but the ticket lawyer scared me that uber/dd might look negatively and maybe kick me off platform.
Suggestions? This is in south Florida

Not getting any orders

Has anyone else been getting little to no Uber Eats orders lately?
I stopped received any orders on Tuesday last week, and so far this week, I have not received any. I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I’m wondering whether it’s just been unusually slow, there are too many drivers online, or something else is going on.
I’ve gone online during times when I’d normally expect at least a few requests, but I’m getting absolutely nothing.

Their removing the coffee cup might be my last straw

It’s blatantly hostile UX design. Morally repugnant. I don’t want to generate revenue for a company that treats us like this.

Advice Please

What’s up y’all! I recently reactivated my ubereats account and have started delivering in DFW. There are some wealthier communities not too far from where I live. Any tips for maximizing my earnings?

Note: a big issue I’ve encountered is getting rubber banded to far off cities which results in a lot of dead time or money wasted on gas in order to get back home

Is this a joke?

When did uber make it a thing where we have to reserve just to uber? Is it because a high volume of people are delivering?

Whos sick of getting bombarded with orders like this. Especially when your driving to your drop off destination?

I can never hut the 120 delivery goal for the extra pay. Funny thing is its only 197 dollars in my city for 120 deliveries.

This is the reason they got rid of coffee break.

They removed it for when you have something else to do at the moment when you were or were about to start a shift later, but if you passed your scheduled time, they would give out your shift randoms. The coffee break, if you had it activated, would prevent that, but now you just lose your day's shift.

Common Steal Food Scam

Took a wing stop - more than usual $10 for 2 miles. On the way there - get a message- cancel the order - wrong address. I go there anyway hoping to pick it up - possible free food. Order already picked up. So the dude orders it, picks it up himself and the driver has no choice to cancel. That’s why many places have you pickup in front of them. I’d like to report this customer but no proof.
