I forget about the ending

I thought that Apollo was stuck by and arrow that made him fall in love with kore but at the same time fell all the pain he inflicted on her. I just re-read the story and got a mandala effect. Am 'i the only one?

Leuce Redesign

Two in one day, apologies in advance

I've touched on Leuce before but it was time I finally gave her a look

My Leuce is quite different, mainly in the change to her relation with the Oceanides. I heard some sources link her to being related to Laurel trees as Daphne is, so I imagined her as a tree nymph from the mortal realm instead, and the Oceanides as a more modern family that likely didn't exist back then.

Her and Hades met just a few years after the war, and the two quickly became friends and soon after fell in love. All was going well until one day, when Pandora's box was opened. One of the plagues released turned into a blight that infected many groves of plant life in the mortal realm, including Leuce's home grove. As the trees wilted and withered away, Leuce's poor sisters tragically met their fates.

Seeing the damage that was killing the nymphs, Hades realised that Leuce was likely next. In his desperation to save her, he took her to the underworld which he was not yet the king of, searching for help to stop the plague, but he was too late.

He laid Leuce down in the underworld, and stayed with her as she died, accompanied by Hecate who consoled him in his grief.

Hades has struggled with his guilt over Leuce's death for centuries feeling like he failed to save her, and the trauma occasionally rears its head when he feels he is failing in his current relationships, particularly Minthe.

I promise I kissed the brick 💖

Ares Redesign

homeboy Ares' turn yaay

Ares is as always our chaos mongering bad boy with more muscles than brains, but he still hides a sweet personality behind all the bravado.

Ares is very frequently banished to the mortal realm for standing up to Zeus, leading to him having a lot of lightning scars (and other scars in general) Ares is fiercely protective of those he considers his family, even if he's brash and awkward about it.

Centuries ago it was everybody's expectation that Aphrodite would marry Hephaestus, but after a very messy split where she confessed she never wanted to be with him and subsequently admitting her feelings for Ares, safe to say the family was thrown a tad into disarray.

Ares used to be a bit of a playboy, with lovers such as Eos and several mortal women and nymphs, but he has been loyal to Aphrodite ever since she revealed her feelings to him. Together they have 4 children: Eros, Harmonia, Deimos and Phobos.

Ares does have other children, but most were mortal and passed away, much to his upset.

Decades prior to our story, Ares was banished yet again to the mortal realm and ended up on Demeter’s property, and was found by Persephone who helped him and nursed him to health. He's considered her to be like a little sister ever since (As such he takes great pleasure in annoying her)

(Tiny headcanon, Ares has Eros help him to straighten his hair because he doesn't want to look like his father.)

Is it weird that if I wanted to rewrite LO and have Hermes and Persephone get together, I’d want to make Pan their son?

(This just came to my head.)

Listen I think it would be interesting and he is a nature god so why not?

Edit: Of course Perse would be aged up to at least 1900, just wanted to put this here.

Is what Hades said about Love true?

😳 I'm asking as while I've never been in love or had a crush; I associate Love with pain and anxiety, Is it really that painful?

Granted a cynical(read logic)part of me says, That it sounds like obsession and yes it does because to me love isn't just one thing it's alot of things (Aphrodite can prove and tell you that).

I wish Despena had appeared in LO

I apologize for any strange translations; I used Google Translate for this post.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, because I honestly stopped reading the comic a long time ago, around chapter 20 if not earlier...

But from what I've heard and after a quick search... Despena doesn't appear in LO. And that seems like a waste to me because it would have been an opportunity with a lot of potential.

For those who don't know her, Despena (or Despina, the translation often varies, but I prefer Despena) is the daughter of Demeter and Poseidon. She is known as the goddess of winter and mysteries, and the twin sister of the horse Arion. The myth of his birth tells of how, while Demeter, transformed into a mare, was searching for her daughter after she had been abducted by Hades, Poseidon transformed himself into a horse to approach Demeter carnally. From this union came Despena and her brother, which is why the brother is a horse.

But since LO is not a story characterized by respecting Greek mythology, we can omit the horse sex and simply make her Persephone's younger sister.

Well, getting back to Despena, I think it would have been very interesting if she had existed in LO. She could have acted as a mediator between Demeter and Persephone, been a very interesting driving force for the plot... The potential was endless.

In fact, I found those Despena fanarts on Pinterest (I'm sorry I have no idea who the artist is, but whoever it is, my respects), and while I love that attitude and the voice of reason role... I feel like that's more of an older sister role, and that's fine and perfect. But I don't know, I'd like to see something of a younger sister... Just to see what a version somewhat similar to the Greek canon would be like...

I'd like to know what you all think. I don't know... I'd like to talk to someone about it.

Today we're picking Apollo's powers! He's the Greek god of the sun, music, and medicine, so there's a lot to work with. I guess this would be his most notable/Iconic power.

So many problems could be solved if this was Leuce, instead of Hera.

Not all of them, I grant. But imagine Leuce cares for Hades. They fall in love. His brothers go off, get married, etc. He and Leuce go to the Underworld. She passes away and turns into the poplar. He is devastated and alone. He is afraid of true love again, so he picks a safe, albeit toxic situationship with Minthe. Then, Hades goes to therapy and realizes that they both deserve better. Minthe is upset, but Hades gives the apartment outright and encourages her to take a better position elsewhere in the company. She reluctantly agrees. Then Hades's blossoming friendship with an age-appropriate and mature Persephone can evolve. Again, it's not perfect and I'm not going to craft a full retelling of this full mess as Generic Puff already does an amazing job with that, but the affair with Hera is one of the most egregious additions to me. I hate it on many levels. Leuce makes so much more sense here!!

I had a somewhat vivid dream about this subreddit with a rewrite of a scene.

I don't know why I had that dream, It's been a long time since I last think about about Lore Olympus. And I also know this post is pretty useless, but my dream was so detailed that I thought it would be interesting to share.

Basically, it was a comic rewrite of the scene after Hera's nightmare, where Zeus rushes to her rescue and takes her to the bathroom to cool down her scar. There, Hera begins to explain the dream she had, and when Zeus tries to calm her down, she turns to say, "I know what I saw, he—" And she stops, her face becoming shocked and frightened.

It shows Zeus's face, which is kinda obscured in shadow with shower water droplets, making him look more like Kronos. Hera tries to say something more, but Zeus understands that she was confusing him with her father, and shows himself angry/indignant, with hair flying around and lightning bolts shooting out of his eyes and stuff.

Then I remember thinking in the dream "Oh damn," and I tried to see more scenes, but I had already reached the last page. I went to check the profile to see if anything else had been posted, but the author has not yet posted the other part. Then I just went back to doing other stuff in my dream.

I also remember eating cookies while I was reading, sitting in a chair in some waiting room. It was so specific and detailed that I wanted to share it with someone.

Today we're picking Apollo's secondary body color, I've provided a color chart but you don't have to use it, just be specific of what color you think would be best. EX. Don't just say yellow, something like yellow ochre, or canary yellow.'

How would you wrote your version of Demeter? (My take on her + aesthetic board

Even though as a teen I did like this comic at one point, I just simply didn’t like how Demeter was portrayed in the comic. Maybe she could’ve been similar to Maurice from Beauty and the Beast, an eccentric hippie goddess who became desperate to save her daughter by any means necessary due to being mislead by someone about her daughter being kidnapped.
