Year 13 student considering the BDes/BE Mechatronics conjoint. Looking to hear from current students.
Hey! I'm a Year 13 student considering the BDes/BE(Hons) Mechatronics conjoint at UoA next year. I've done a lot of research, but I'd love to hear from someone actually in it.
A bit about me, I play football competitively, and I'm genuinely drawn to the design side of the conjoint. But people keep telling me the workload is brutal, and time management is the hardest part.
Some things I'd really like to know:
- How does the BDes workload compare to the engineering side? Is it relief or more pressure on top?
- What does a typical week actually look like for you?
- Is the 4.0 GPA requirement to stay in the conjoint as stressful as it sounds?
- Would you do it again, knowing what you know now?
- Is there anything you wish someone had told you before starting?
Your answer means a lot. Thank you
