Is "Eternal September" like "Susquehanna Hat Company" in Vaudeville?

Seems that every time I post something here about the Eternal September, it immediately shoots up to 5-10 likes. Not approval for thinking that the event was good news, nor even adding any new discussion or insight about the topic in the comments. Just likes, maybe a rehashed rant that wishes for a mythical past utopia of Usenet that goes nowhere.

Contrast that with more nuanced, thoughtful articles that convey new detailed information about Usenet, or describe realistic efforts to improve social media in the future, that stay at its original one like. Or other Vaudevillian hot topics like "Grokipedia" that immediately get downvoted to zero. Would "Grokipedia" get more points on Reddit if it was secretly funded by George Soros instead of Elon Musk?

What would you like to see on this Subreddit, and what would you like to do with that information? In short, to reiterate a previous administrative article, "Why are we here?"

Newshosting charged my card $89.95 five times

In the last week Newshosting has charged my privacy card $89.95 five times. Thankfully it was declined all five times because I have a card spend limit on my account of only $40. When I signed up I paid less than $30. Where do they get off increasing my bill by 300% and then not giving me a chance to say no? Shouldn't I have to opt-in to a 300% increase?

NEWSHOSTING *INTERNET just attempted to charge $89.85 to your Newshosting card, but the charge was declined because the transaction is over the card spend limit of $40.00 per year.

Best VPN to run on a router?

I want to set up a VPN on my router so every device in my house gets protected. I have an ASUS router and it supports both OpenVPN and WireGuard. From what I've read NordVPN ExpressVPN and Surfshark all work on routers and ExpressVPN even sells routers that come with VPN already set up.

Speed matters a lot because routers have weak processors and VPN slows things down even more. For people running VPN on their routers which provider actually performs best? Is WireGuard faster than OpenVPN on routers? Are some router brands better for VPN than others?

Most smart TVs won't let you install VPN apps so I'm looking for workarounds for my Samsung. I'm thinking about either running NordVPN or ExpressVPN from my router to cover everything including the TV or using a VPN dongle or trying DNS based solutions.

For anyone who has actually set up a VPN for their smart TV which method works the best? Does router level work better than DNS or sharing from your phone? Do Samsung or LG TVs have any specific problems with VPN setups?
