What's happening in your garden this weekend?

Headed to local nursery to buy more plants? Attending a seed swap? Weeding all the things?

Does this Paw Paw tree sapling look ok?

I recall reading about paw paw fruit when I lived on West Coast, and jumped at the opportunity to buy one to plant on my sister’s land.
Now, it’s been in the ground for 2 weeks and is not looking any better.
Do I need to cut away the darker areas (my hand with stubby fingers outline area)?

I planted this in a hole approximately 18” deep and 18” across. Filled with a mix of topsoil, compost, worm castings, and clay that came out of said hole.
TIA for any insight.

Meadows Farms bagged compost. 👍

Just chiming into say that this stuff seems like good quality, I got 2 bags of manure/compost blend and 2 bags of leaf compost. Black in color, well sifted, no plastic and no mulchy chunks! I got mine from Great Big Greenhouse in Richmond.

My favorite Virginia wild flower

I had a few several years ago and now when I see the fruit I distribute them around the garden. Now they’re growing all over
