Im torn between the two FFX vinyls
The older vinyl has one of my favorite songs in the game with Movement in green but the track list is certainly longer with the new eternal calm.
What would you guys recommend. Or is there some third option im not aware of
FTL
I really want to add this record to my collection. I wonder when iam8bit will finally restock it. Still waiting...

I want to get into vinyls but all record players seem either cheap and would damage my records or way too expensive are those from Lenco any good?
Breath of The Wild 2LPs Leak on Discogs
Like say the title, the 2LP (Retailler Version) as leaked on Discogs, we don't know how can be possible the LP came out before the real release date (3-4 September).
However no clues about the Box Set referenced on Discogs.
Game soundtracks aren’t about the music
Lately, I’ve come to an unpleasant realization. It feels like all these vinyl and CD releases for games are mostly just for collecting or nostalgia.
I decided that, for myself, I wanted to choose a vinyl not based on a game I already knew or had played, but purely based on the music. So I went to Laced and started listening, in order, to all the tracks from all the records for all the games they had available. And I came to a few disappointing conclusions.
Every game only has a handful of tracks that truly stay with you. Often it’s the main theme and a few other tracks that add some variety. Everything else tends to be fairly uninspired music built around certain motifs for specific in-game situations, like combat music or ambient background pieces. In other words, 95% of the tracks are quite monotonous, and you probably wouldn’t recognize them if you didn’t already know what you were listening to.
A very telling example is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I haven’t played the game, but I’ve repeatedly heard that it has a phenomenal soundtrack. And that’s true: “Alicia,” “Gustave,” “Lumiere,” and a few others are the core that the whole soundtrack rests on. But everything else is just standard orchestration without vocals, and it doesn’t really leave a lasting impression.
There are exceptions, though. For example, Bloodborne or The Witcher 3. In those soundtracks, every track feels like a completely different piece of music with its own motif. Bloodborne only has three records across two releases, and every single track feels like something that goes straight into your soul.
We buy a specific vinyl release for a specific game because the game is familiar to us.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I think that’s how it works for most people. For example, while I was listening through everything on Laced, I discovered a game I knew absolutely nothing about whose soundtrack really impressed me: Firmament. At the same time, I found a game I love a lot, but whose soundtrack didn’t impress me at all: Resident Evil 2.
And yet, in the end, I still really want to buy the Resident Evil 2 release, while something is stopping me from buying the Firmament one. I think that when we buy a game soundtrack, we’re not really buying it because of the music itself. We’re buying it to reconnect with the emotions we felt while playing that game.
Complete soundtrack releases on 4+ records are purely for collectors.
Very often, even two-record releases already start to feel weak, despite a few great tracks at the beginning. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an example of that. And if you go for the biggest edition, then 99% of the soundtrack is basically filler.
Honestly, these conclusions have made me sad, and I’ve suddenly lost the desire to keep collecting video game soundtracks. If you disagree with me, please convince me otherwise, because otherwise I think I’m going to stop buying vinyl.(

What is your most regularly played record by far in your collection?
reddit.comOne of my prized possessions: the Mario Bros. theme (original 1986 Japanese pressing complete with poster and sticker sheet)…it’s cool to see the different design for Bowser here along with a other things that didn’t make it into the games (like Toad having a chain and ball attached to his leg).

fangamer.comCanadian store recommendations for VGM
As I look to get more into VGM, I’m trying to find out if there’s any go-to Canadian record shops that have a good selection to pick/order from.
Will take any US or UK options that ship to Canada as well.
It Finally Arrived - I Am Your Beats (Beast)
Been a 9 month wait but happy to own one of my favourite soundtracks.
Plastic Stone Records, Reddit Help Me!
**Update - they have literally just refunded me, but also don't shop there xx
I have been scammed by Plastic Stone Records - turns out they're really unreliable (should have done my homework but here we are).
I ordered an expensive record from them 3 months ago as gift for my boyfriend, which never arrived. I have emailed multiple times, tried the chat function on their site, DM'd on Instagram. In desperation I started commenting on their posts, asking them to either refund me, send the record or exchange it for another one.
Anyway, they blocked me. But the order is Order #15370 - I don't know what to do, my bank won't refund me, it was so much money for me - so as a last resort if anyone can find it in the goodness of the heart to also DM them as they are clearly active and ask to refund order Order #15370 I would really appreciate it
My VGM Vinyl Collection (Day 2)
The Angry Video Game Nerd I&II Deluxe
I've been a fan of the AVGN for over a decade now, so when James announced that he was going to release some video games I just knew I had to get them to support the man.
The games are pretty difficult, which I love, so I know it's not for everybody. I really like the pixelated graphics also, it has some charm to it. The soundtrack is amazing too, so when the vinyl was announced there was no doubt that I would get it.
Big Walk by House House needs a vinyl release ASAP!
The game has only been out for a bit but man am I loving it! It’s one of the few pc games I’ve been able to play with my fiance and we both had a blast. She got me into vinyl record collecting and I have been focusing on gaming soundtracks. She’s not the biggest fan of scores and soundtracks but she and I want this one for sure. First video game vinyl that we both want! I believe the Untitled Goose Game had a vinyl release, so here’s to hope that Big Walk gets one too!
My VGM Vinyl Collection (Day 1)
198X
I've never actually played the game, but I bought the vinyl anyway because I did enjoy the music in the trailer, and I figured that I'd play the game eventually. I'm just waiting on that Xbox release. Any day now...
