i haave been trying for the past couple hours re installing drivers restarting my pc and resetiing and updating my devices but nothing seems to work and i have looked on the help page on the official steam page but that didnt seem to help at all does anyone know how to fix this
Is VR Optician out of Germany still the standard for prescription inserts for the Valve Index?
I bought an index kit about 3 weeks ago, and I just can't get it to work. I think it's some software problem, but I can't figure it out. It struggles to connect to my pc. I've bought a new headset, tether, and a Trident cable, a USB 3.0PCIe hub, trying to get it to work to no avail. It's not giving the same problem in the same way; it's slightly different each time. I've redownloaded Windows 11 twice, Steam itself twice, redownloaded GPU drivers from studio to game-ready versions a couple of times, and it doesn't help. I've stopped Windows from turning off USBs in Device Manager, have Nvidia settings at max performance, Windows settings for max performance, updated bluetooth drivers for my cpu, updated to my latest bios for my motherboard, and used software to see where the basestations can see using my Quest, but it just doesn't track the headset for some reason, and when it magically does, it stutters like crazy (tracking going in/out). The knuckles and the basestations from the kit are working perfectly; it's just the headset struggling. I've even reseated my GPU to see if that would even help. The headset doesn't even connect anymore; it just goes from solid green to blue, then flashing red on both headsets. The base station lights are all green and don't have any syncing or conflict issues. The base stations don't connect to SteamVR unless I turn one of the controllers on. I don't have the techy know-how to fix this problem; I'm at my wits' end, and need some help.
PC: Intel i7-11700, HP RTX 3060 OEM LHR, some bronze 700-watt PSU, Aorus Z590 Elite AX, 32gigs corsair vengence ddr4 3200, no idea what my storage is, but I have an NVMe, a SATA SSD, and a hard drive
VR: 2 Valve index headsets, 2 Tridents, 2 of the AC power bricks for the index, 1 pair of knuckles, 3 2.0 base stations (2 Valve, 1 Vive), Quest 2, 3 3.0 Vive trackers
Tried to include as much of my space as I could plz ignore the mess I'm ordering a shelf where the boxes are any how I got on VR and I felt like my trackers kept having issues connecting soo what's the optimal setup here I was also thinking on getting 2 more base stations as well as index controllers as I mostly use quest 3 RN and I prefer grabbing stuf
I already have the Valve v2 base stations and new Knuckles controllers, so no need to upgrade there…
So all of a sudden my right index controller just stops charging. I also found out that its breaking every usb hub i try and charge it with making everything disconnect. no light no nothing. i have tried so many diffrent things like 5 diffrent cables. pluging in diffrent outlets and diffrent ports in my pc. not even getting the normal little warm when charging. is there a known fix for this??
Hi, making a post here since I cannot find ANYTHING that gives me one definitive answer on this.
So about ~6 months ago I got new base stations, specifically the 1.0’s, I have next to never used them in that timeframe, they were barely moved and haven’t suffered any damage to my knowledge, but heres the error I’ve been encountering:
Every time I plug them in it shows a blue light, I can hear the motor, everything seems good right? Wrong. For some reason when they’re placed down on any flat surface, the blue light turns green and 9 red lights appear, I can still hear the motor running so I know thats not an issue, but I am unsure since SteamVR won’t recognize them (At least when I was on Windows, haven’t tested them on Pop!_OS yet) alongside the only answer I’ve found being that the infrareds are broken/failing, which shouldn’t be possible since I had this exact same error with my second 1.0, and my previous ones.
Can anyone offer some help on this? It’d be greatly appreciated.
I have Lenovo legion 7 pro gen 8. I have connected Index Valve with Usb-C to DisplayPort 4k/144hz to the laptop at the back (USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DisplayPort™ 1.4) which should support it. I get a picture for few seconds with colored grain as in video and it just breaks after few seconds (multiple pictures or goes black)
Did anyone with this laptop manage to get Index Valve to work with it and how?
Thx in advance mates <3.
I upfront apologize if this has been asked before, and if this post is not done well as its the second post I have ever made.
How would it be attempting to turn the speakers/headphones on the index into regular headphones I could wear at my PC. I have always has some paranoia with keeping both sides of my headphones on while I'm at the house alone as well not wanting to wake anyone while they are asleep but wanting to have full quality. I very much enjoy the quality of the drivers and would love to have those as my main headphones instead of my close backed DT770s
Or will it be more worth while to find some good open back headphones for my situation?
So one of my base stations died (blinking red light), and I've contacted Steam Support and they've said they cant replace the base station - what am I supposed to do?
The Steam Store is sold out and I don't really see any other options?
Am I meant to just buy a used one on eBay?
EDIT: https://imgur.com/a/eTBiH66 support really doesn't like me I guess

While I was working on my 'Be a Firefighter' game, it got me thinking-what’s the silliest, wackiest rescue scenario you could imagine? Would love to hear your funniest or most absurd ideas for VR rescues!
For context, my VR game is already live on Meta Quest, and it will go live on Steam!- https://store.steampowered.com/app/4603600/Be_A_Firefighter/
Thought it would be fun to brainstorm funny rescue scenarios with the community!
I recently bought the index just today and I had issues with connecting my index to the pc. Does anyone have tips on how I can do that ? My laptop has an RTX 4070
For about a week my left controller has been becoming worse and worse about releasing the grip. Of course valves warranty has expired and I am *not* buying a full replacement. How should I go about trying to fix the grip problem?
Hey all, the title pretty much asks the question, I want to get a new vr and I have been looking in the used market and I came across this kit on CEX for $1450 AUD or $1050 USD, I know the headset is old but I’m not really buying this kit for the headset and I’m mainly doing it for the controllers and base stations as those alone in Australia are around $1300 AUD or more.
B grade is unfortunately pretty vague as it could mean that it’s simply only being opened and never used or that it has been used for a while.
I was wondering if anyone else who has bought a valve from here could speak from their experience or anyone who just has some advice on this purchase.
Cheers.
