Thought ts was supposed to be more durable than vulcanized shoes? I've destroyed two pairs of rowans and they've never done this. I'll take it as a sign to wear them again lol

Better SK8-Hi black or navy?

Everyone seems to love the return of the Knu Skool. I'd like to see something like Razors come back.

I think I can get these off the website with a box for another $15, but where's the fun in that? I feel like the design on these didn't come out how they had hoped and they just sold it anyway. They look cool, but I don't even think fans would realize they're K-Pop Demon Hunters merch without looking closely

Got a pair of Skate Old Skool 36+ shoes earlier this year and they have been the most comfortable Vans I’ve ever owned. I’m looking to pickup a second pair.

Option 1: Get the same black and white pair I already own. The boring but safe option. These ones seem to have a fur inner lining around the heel which may make them more comfortable than the others?

Option 2: Yellow. These ones (along with a few of the other new colours) seem to have lost the fur lining around the heel, but they are more exciting to look at.

Option 3: White. Actually more of a beige. I like the colour, and it has a black base at the bottom instead of white, which might mean they don’t get dirty as fast. May also have the fur lining of the black originals.

new to vans and planning to get them, but the old skool in 2nd pic are unavailable in size, so is the first one as good as the og?

In high school I had a pair of slip-on Island Beach Vans. Unfortunately their customize shoe feature doesn't contain that island Beach pattern and it only allows you to update the Toe section with a custom image, not the quarters or heel. So I created my own Island Beach print pattern and it looks pretty cool.

I'm so sad my vans didn't last long at all.. What glue could fix this? I did try some glue prior but that didn't work, I just can't remember what it was 🥲

Edit: Also has anyone else had issues with their vans breaking soon after starting to use them? I feel like they don't last at all anymore

I still have so many pair from over 20 years ago! Here is one 😀 if anyone knows what model these are, I'd love to know!

I'm not really in the community of Hello Kitty or Kuromi in general, but wanted to share this sweet idea I had for my gf where I painted her allocated side of my wardrobe in a pink checkerboard like you'd see on Vans products and Kuromi heads for cute selfies. I think it turned out great and it was loads of fun doing it for someone you love even though she dumped me 2 days later.

How I did it:

I used a pencil and made markers intervalling at 4cm around the whole door and made a grid using painters tape in 3mm width and making sure it was sticking securely to the door by going over each line with my thumbnail (that shit took like 1,5h and without a workbench it was hell for my back lol)

Mixing red and white acryl paint (had no other, probably better choices out there) I made the pink and carefully and with no apparent artistic skills painted all squares, making sure not to go over the line (corners were a bitch, took around 2,5h)

Removed painters tape (sooo satisfying)

I'm not good at freehanding drawings nevermind painting while standing so I made a stencil of Kuromis head using cardboard, carefully scissoring away parts so I could also get the white mask/face (?) part perfectly. I then painted the parts while gaming so the segments could dry (took around 1,5h).

It was a fun project with a bittersweet ending that lasted around 8 to 9h with breaks! c:

Recently, Vans' product line has been pushing classic shoes in a more subtle and experimental direction. From OTW by Vans to Vans Premium, the brand was no longer limited to color change, but began to rethink the relationship between materials, structure, and visual language. The LX Authentic 44 "Overpainted" series recently launched by Vans Premium is undoubtedly the most recognizable of them.

Just got these Skate Authentics in Deep Twilight, off the Vans website with 50% off plus an extra 10% discount with the store pickup option, so a pretty good deal IMO 😁

I'd been missing a simple, dark blue pair in my collection, and I've become a huge fan of the Authentic silhouette this past couple of years; especially the Skate/Pros, but also LX/DX and Premiums. Really happy with these! Cheers.
