Vaporwave-inspired Postgraduate Project

Hello!

I'm a postgraduate student from the University of the Arts London (UAL) studying an MA in Graphic Branding and Identity. I'm currently working on my final thesis, which is inspired by Vaporwave and the community around it. Give Me the Night - George Benson (Chopped and Slowed by _flatpat_)

Hey y'all-- I just wanted to share this remix I did a couple of years back becuase I think the community might dig it.

I'm a Houston-based producer who grew up listening to Screw tapes in the 90's and have really appreciated what Vaporwave has brought on in the last 15 years or so. A lot of my original music is at least Vaporwave adjacent and a few years ago I got back into DJing doing chopped & slowed mixes. For these I kinda emulate what I used to hear on Screw tapes and Swishahouse in the 90's/00's, but I like to layer with more effects for a Vaporwave sensibility.

Finding the source of the album cover of ひまわり画像 (Sunflower images) by 天気予報 (Weather forecast).

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find the exact video source of the album cover of "Sunflower Images" (ひまわり画像) by Weather forecast (天気予報).

I found this screenshot attached on a Japanese sample-hunting database (`kousuisell.cloudfree.jp`). On the site, there's a link to a 1994 STV Hokkaido Yanbo Marbo weather forecast by uploader *dosanko501* that's crossed out, meaning that specific video was officially, or probably debunked as a false lead.

However, this screenshot is still heavily tied to the album cover. As you can see the green header is very similar to the album cover's one. There's also a high chance that the screenshot found on the database is actually from the video, but i don't think so.

**My questions for the VHS / Japanese TV experts here:**

  1. Do you recognize which specific Japanese TV network or station used this exact green header styling with the font?

  2. Does anyone recognize this specific broadcast layout or have a lead on what year/station this could be from if it's not the 1994 Hokkaido one?

  3. Does anyone have the actual video of dosanko501 to check if it's truly it?

Finding the correct broadcast would help solve a massive piece of the puzzle for the Signalwave community. Any help would be amazing!

My Pet Flamingo submission 7 business days later, should I follow up?

Hi! Dumb ahh question but, i submitted my album to My Pet Flamingo 7 business days ago and got the automatic response saying to allow 5-7 business days for a reply. For people who have submitted to them before, do they usually take the full timeframe or longer? Should I send a followup after the 7th business day?
