How do you identify Vaporwave samples?

Searched this question on google and found nothing relevant surprisingly, I was expecting to find YouTube tutorials tbh.

Anyways, I have a really obscure Vaporwave song and I'm very eager on finding the sample used in it, only issue is I don't really know how I'd do that. I tried speeding it up and using shazam but it never worked so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I could find the sample used?

The song I have specifically also isn't on any websites so there's not a slight chance at all that it'd be listed with the sample anywhere.

Wanting to release vaporwave music, but…

I am “afraid” to do so.

Mainly because I don’t think it’s up to par, even when I have shared a few short snippets here and the reviews were pretty much all positive. I have half-finished tracks sitting on my hard drive that will probably never be finished, and thus, never be heard by anyone but myself.

My question here is does anyone else here currently struggle with this? Has anyone struggled with this before and gotten over it? If so, how did you do it?

Are these albums considered vapor wave?

They both have nostalgic 80s and early 90s instrumentals. Are these vapor wave or just ambient or something else? Trying to figure out which playlist to put them in. Thank you so much!

Vaporwave changed my life

I used to have no musical identity. I would listen to all the popular songs everyone else listened to and I liked those songs, but they never connected with me in a meaningful way. One night I took mushrooms and decided to try something new, putting on Remember Last Summer by Nxxxxxs. I knew of Nxxxxxs from a couple Freddie Dread songs 🤮 so I gave it a listen and most of the tracks were good but 2 of them in particular, Everyone is a Suspect and Come Home 2Nite completely blew my mind. I had such a deeply personal experience diving into more vaporwave and its subgenres that night and I have not stopped since. I always wonder if I’ll get tired of it, but there’s just so much to listen to. That being said I feel like a completely new person nowadays, like I’m actually able to relax. I feel so much happier and motivated when I listen to it, and it’s not the drugs, I listen vaporwave everyday sober and I take a mushroom trip every other weekend. I hope this genre can go further because a lot of its sounds are so timeless. So thank you to all the artists in here trying to keep it alive.

Boards of Canada Iraq Says + Nine Rubber Wisdom (1996)

These songs have always struck me as some of the earliest examples of what vaporwave would in some ways come to be. While I think BoC as a whole are very different from vaporwave in general, their 2 old tunes tapes have always, in some aspects, felt very in sync with a lot of the earliest vaporwave records from the early 2010s. I’m not sure if it’s just me but these tracks in particular always put me in a similar headspace as when I’m listening to vaporwave.

Production Through Duplication.Com

Hey all,

I've ordered a batch of tapes through duplication.com of a project of mine. I'm just now realizing their stipulations on projects that use samples - given this, how do labels press albums onto tape? I'd assume not nearly every artist is getting their samples cleared? I'm a bit worried and stressed now about this and am looking for any and all advice.

Having some trouble promoting my Signalwave project

as much as I love analog media, producing in a subgenre of a subgenre is hard to get people on board with, usually it either clicks or it really doesn't. Vaporwave feels like a genre of abstract discovery to me but I was curious if any other vaporwave producers here have any experience as to where or how I can promote my projects better! check out my projects here any feedback is greatly greatly appreciated!!
