Need recommendations for vegan eyeliners!

Before going vegan my favorite eyeliner was the canmake creamy touch liner, but it’s sadly not vegan.

So far I’ve tried a variety of vegan eyeliners but I’ve had various problems with them. The majority of them such as the Elf and cover girl eyeliners leave black smudges under my eyes despite me priming my eyelids and setting it with eyeshadow. I tried the Julep and Sandstone peak eyeliners and I thought they were decent but I hate dealing with eyeliner sharpeners and the sandstone peak eyeliner tip was too large for me to apply it precisely. So far the best vegan eyeliner I found that mimics the Canmake creamy touch liner is the SOSHE 1.5 mm retractable eyeliner which I like a lot and have been using for the past few months.

The main problem however is that the SOSHE eyeliner costs twice as much as the Canmake eyeliner (~$25 vs $12), which for me is a lot. I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheaper alternatives that provide similar results to the Canmake eyeliner but are vegan and cruelty free? Thanks so much!

TLDR: main criteria I’m looking for in terms of eyeliners are:

  1. gel eyeliner
  2. retractable
  3. anti-smudge + waterproof
  4. Thin precision (~1.5 mm)
  5. Affordable

Has anyone tried “Elastic Skin” by InnBeauty Project, the vegan version of snail mucin?

Mid-high end Foundation recommendations?

Hi all, I got totally sucked into a Pinterest makeup tutorial hole last night and realised at 32 years old, I never considered anything other than drugstore make up. I'm beginning to get fine lines under eyes and they go super crinkly when I smile which of course leaves foundation creases over the course of the day. So much so that I don't wear foundation around my eyes anymore. I currently use Avon Serum foundation topped with a very light blotting of MCo beauty pressed powder (amazing btw).

I am getting married in a few months and I'd like to cover up my slightly tired eyes without worrying about lots of creasing! Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like to go to John Lewis or Harrods or somewhere and try it out but I don't want to keep asking if it's cruelty free and vegan 😅 so warm fair skin tone recommendations appreciated!

I'm also on the lookout for a dark red lip stain (brown based, not purple/pink/cool as it doesn't suit me and will end up in the graveyard of lipsticks that I have)

I am based in the UK and my splurge budget would be £45 max but would obviously be happier with less!

Thank you in advance!

Alternative to Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Looking for a cruelty-free alternative to neutrogena‘s hydro boost WATER GEL. I don’t want a cream I want a water based gel. I have sensory issues and I’m super sensitive to feeling greasy cause I have oily skin already. I have tried Elf‘s Gel Yeah moisturizer and it feels sticky and greasy to me, so does Byoma’s moisturizing gel cream. I need something that’s super weightless, like I don’t feel anything after putting the hydro boost water gel. I’m willing/able to spend up to around $50. I would really appreciate the help! Thank you! (also this is my first post on Reddit ever so I’m sorry if I’m not doing something right)

Lip masks / hydrating lip balms with no shea butter nor vitamin E?

Due to a medical condition, I have very dry peeling / cracking lips that make it hard to be hydrated. I have tried: hurraw, ellovi, crazy rumors, eccolips, blissoma, dr. pawpaw, goldfaden MD, three ships, and true botanicals. (Aquaphor and Vaseline, and similar products, and does not work for me neither).

I know that my lips / skin hate shea butter and vitamin E I think tends to make my lips drier unless a lot of ingredients can counteract it. It seems my lips love cocoa butter as booda butter worked the best for me and in general I've noticed cocoa butter works well for my skin, though it was still not enough and it was too glossy on my lips. Looking for something I can use in the day (and recommendations that are good which are glossy for night are fine too, though I need something in the day also). Also it should have no or low glycerin at most, since I also don't do well with that either. I think I would have been able to do well with the iota / Táche Pistachio Milk Latte Lip Treatment if it wasn't for the shea butter in it, so I guess my lips like ceramides / peptides / plant stem cell stuff, or something like that since it is in the ingredient list.

Confession: I sometimes find out a product isn't vegan AFTER I've already bought it 😭

Okay this is slightly embarrassing but pls tell me I'm not the only one.
I'll be standing in the store, reading the front of the packaging like:
✨ cruelty-free
✨ natural
✨ clean beauty
✨ dermatologist tested
And my brain goes: yes, vegan probably
Then I get home and actually check the ingredients/brand policy properly and... nope 💀
WHY do some brands make this so unnecessarily confusing?? Like just tell me clearly 😭😭
I've also definitely spent way too long googling whether a brand is actually cruelty-free vs owned by a parent company vs sold somewhere that makes the whole situation complicated lol.
At this point I have approximately 17 tabs open just to buy a moisturizer.
Lately I've been trying to keep better track of the products I use and test, including putting my skincare stuff in one place with SkinPal AI, so I don't completely forget what I was using when my skin was actually doing well 😭
Full disclosure, I'm connected with SkinPal AI, so just putting that out there rather than pretending I randomly stumbled across it. But honestly the “wait... what products was I even using last month?” problem is very real for me lol.
How do you guys check before buying something? Do you have a website/app/list you always use, or are you also out here doing FBI-level research in the skincare aisle? 😭
And yes... I have absolutely bought something twice because I forgot whether I had already researched the brand before 🫠

Pacifica SPF

Guys what’s your favorite noncomedogenic, hydrating everyday facial spf?

I was using Josie Maran for a while but the price has gone up to a point I don’t feel comfortable spending anymore. Pacifica had a Future Youth spf that was amazing for $14 and it looks like they are reformulating their spf’s because they have none but a skin tint on their site and I was emailed to say they have discontinued the others.

I have skin that veers on dry, and oily around the t-zone. I like a glowy finish but honestly I’d just be content with something that WORKS, doesn’t smell like sunscreen, and I can tolerate wearing under light makeup. I don’t wear foundation but have noticed some pill under blush and concealer.

Vegan Waterproof Mascara suggestions?

I really liked “Aquarian Gaze” from the Pacifica brand. However, I think it has been discontinued as I have not been able to find it locally or online. I’ve tried many other formulas and I always get black smudge transfers on my under eye after a couple hours of wear. I do get my upper lashes done with extensions but my lower lashes are too light that it looks as unbalanced without mascara. I think my issue is the other ones I’ve tried are not “waterproof.”

Other mascaras I have tried:
Pacifica: Dream Big
Pacifica: Stellar Gaze
Pacifica: Surf Lash
Covergirl: Lash burst Cleantopia

Body lotion that doesn't leave me feeling oily?

I'm trying to find a body lotion but I hate the feeling of being greasy/oily after applying it, the only lotion I found that didn't do that was Lubriderm but it's not vegan.

Does anyone use everyone 2-in-1 lotions and can you speak to how they feel? I'm concerned about coconut oil being the third ingredient.

I'm also looking at alba botanicals daily moisturizing lotion.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Can anyone help me understand Luseta "vegan" biotin and collagen?

I got a Luseta biotin and collagen haircare set as a gift. Their website says "The majority of our products are vegan except [the keratin line]".

Any vegan collagen I've ever seen is explicitly marked as vegan-sourced, but this is not. It also doesn't say "vegan" anywhere on the packaging or bottles. The wording of the website is weird, too ... "the majority except" kind of leaves room for interpretation imo.

Does anyone have insight into whether these products are actually vegan?

Ty!

Recommandation produit ❓

Was benutzt ihr so? Habt ihr Empfehlungen?

Vegan/CF dupe for Alba Botanica body wash?

Specifically the Hawaiian Detox Body Wash? I love it because it’s foaming but also has exfoliating microbeads, which in my experience is hard to find. I just found out they discontinued it and I’m almost at the bottom of my bottle so any recs are appreciated! TIA!
