casual place to meet in Vernon on a Monday afternoon

Asking for a few suggestions for two old friends to meet (who don't live in Vernon), for a couple of drinks and good quality appetizers. Not going for dinner. The place must be quiet enough in the afternoon for a conversation while not being deserted. Thanks!

Romantic dinner/hidden gems in Vernon

Need a recommendation for a place for dinner that is something suitable for a couple that is long distance, so see each other only a number of times a year.

Comfortably middle class folks, so doesn’t need to be fancy, but memorable. Think, “incredible view” or “uniquely quirky” or “unmissable” as a guide.
Ideally, a venue more cosy and intimate over loud and open; and type of cuisine doesn’t matter at all, both people are allergy free and don’t mind adventuring.

Neither of them know Vernon, but they have vehicles. Oh and, any ideas outside of restaurants is welcome too.

I’m really just looking to pass on information that fits the brief:

“Something worthy” of the handful of times a year they can be in the same room together.

Pokémon cards

I am looking for some Pokémon cards for my eight year-old. Have checked Walmart, Canadian Tire and some other places without luck. Not interested in any expensive or collectable ones. Just want a cheap pack with some cards. Anyone have any idea where I can buy any? Tia

Freshco parking

The new parking restrictions, how long has this been a thing and do they actually ticket you quite actively?

Can anyone recommend a reliable shop to have my car’s ac serviced?

I’ve managed to change the cabin filter and definitely increased the air flow but it’s not as cold as it once was. I’ve been told to avoid the recharging kits.

Vernon road trip from Calgary

We’re planning on doing a road trip June 29-Jul 4 from Calgary with my spouse and two kids (5 and 3). Our plan is to leave Calgary early on Jun 29 and reach Vernon that evening with stops along the way. We went to Revelstoke during the May long weekend and plan to explore a bit further this long weekend. Our goal is stay in a hotel in or near Vernon and explore the area. Open to kid friendly hikes, boat trips, short excursions. We are not much of campers. We will have a car so would love to explore areas beyond Vernon like salmon arm, Peachland, Summerland etc.

We can skip Kelowna as we went there once already and would like to cover that as a completely separate trip.

Please provide your recommendations for exploring the Okanagan, restaurants, hotels (preferably with a kitchenette) we like to make our meals, laundry (insuite) or laundromat.

Thanks

What is the most effective way to find work in Vernon? Like through Indeed, or dropping off resumes, or talking to people and through friends , or Work BC , or something else?

A Memory I Can’t Let Go Of

I know it hasn’t been that long since we got to know each other We made so many plans to hang out but somehow they never worked out Then when we finally met it felt like something truly special almost like magic We watched a beautiful view together walked along the beach shared a kiss and talked about so many things It never felt like we were meeting for the first time Everything felt so comfortable and natural
Since that day I’ve found myself thinking about you more than I expected I remember you telling me that people from your past have left you with painful memories and I understand why you might be keeping your distance I don’t blame you for that.
I just want you to know that I’m still here waiting for even a single reply I’m not trying to pressure you or change your mind I simply wanted to be honest about how I feel The way I felt with you that day is something I’ve never experienced before and that’s why it’s so hard for me to let go No matter what happens I genuinely hope you’re happy And if one day you decide to call me
I’ll be here.

Safety on 25th ave

Are there any patrols along 25th ave for open drug use along the path? Driving along there and seeing multiple ppl camping out and using drugs is really upsetting, both for law abiding citizens trying to walk and bike and the people who are struggling. Just curious if anyone sees RCMP out there?
