Places that show the Football World Cup ⚽

Hi!

My friends and I are traveling to Verona soon, and are looking for a place where we can watch the World Cup Football matches!

We are looking for a place with a big screen/screens (a pub/bar or somewhere outside, etc. etc.), and where we can hear the english commentary.

Or, if there is no places with english commentary/subtitles, a place where we can see the match with italian commentary, instead of music from the venue/pub.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! 🫶 ⚽

New to Verona and I'd love to meet new people!

Hello everyone!

I recently moved to Verona 3 months ago, though I live a 40 minute drive from the city. I moved here with my husband, I'm from Australia and i can speak some Italian (I'm doing weekly classes). I've joined many groups on Facebook and other sites too, but I would love to meet new people and make some new friends. I'm really excited to have moved here and hopefully this reaches some people and points me in the right direction 😄

A bit about me: I'm 28, Australian, my name is Nick, i love all types of music and going to live events, i love going for walks whether it's in the mountains or the city, aperitivo, art museums, swimming, cooking, video games, board games, horror movies

Verona Airport- 100ml limit confusion

I was recently in Lake Garda. I checked my partners bag in and put all liquids in it as Verona Airport still has the 100ml limit for carry on bags. I had a Rituals body scrub which is just pure salt no liquid, and I kept this in my carry on as I presumed it would be allowed as it’s measured in grams at 300grams. It was unfortunately taken off me at security. Did security happen to not see it wasn’t a liquid and measured in grams or is it genuinely not allowed. Just asking so I know for next time.

grazie

Looking to make friends / grab an aperitivo! 🍹

Hello everyone!
It’s been about 6 months since my wife and I moved to Verona. We are still relatively new here and are taking things one step at a time, but we’d love to start expanding our social circle!

We are both fluent English speakers and are currently learning Italian (at a brisk pace, but we're still working on it!). We love meeting new people, sharing stories, and learning new things.

What we're up to:

Weekends: We usually spend our weekends exploring new bars, cafes, and locali around the city centre.

Interests: We are always down for a nice aperitivo, local events, or just walking around the city.

In fact, we are free this evening! If anyone is up for a drink, a chat, or has recommendations for a good spot to meet up, please let us know or shoot me a DM.

Looking forward to meeting some of you! Cheers! 🥂

Best restaurants?

I’m going to be in Verona next Friday and didn’t book a table at Trattoria Al Pompiere in time and it’s fully booked. Any recommendations for something similar? Or would there be a chance of an early walk in at Trattoria Al Pompiere? (I’m not sure if such a thing is possible sorry!)
