VexFusion v0.1 — two Vex go in, one comes out

My creatures are assembled from modular voxel parts rather than being single meshes. Originally, that was just a way to get more variety out of a small library. It ended up becoming the foundation of the fusion system.

Two Vex go into the forge and one comes out carrying a part from the other, grafted onto its own body: head, torso, tail, wings. The transferred part is actual geometry, so the result is visibly descended from both creatures.

The bit I keep going back and forth on is that the player doesn't choose which part transfers. It rolls, and some grafts are much rarer than others.

I like the idea that you can plan a fusion and still be surprised by it. But that's easy to say as the developer and harder to defend once someone loses a creature they liked to a bad roll.

Anyone else built inheritance on top of modular parts? Curious how you handled the player agency side.

Eleven arenas, one continuous orbit

Eleven arenas from the creature collection RPG I am building on my own. Two seconds each, one continuous orbit, cut at matching points in the movement so it reads as a single take.

I am curious whether the cuts hold up for anyone else or whether you can all see the seams.
