What’s the point for favourites?

I might be downvoted for this but i just don’t understand this anymore.

I am selling a Diptyque candle with Diptyque pouch new and unopened. It’s been listed for 5 weeks with 22 favourites now which is surprising since some other sellers are selling it cheaper than. So I just listed it at the price I want and left it.

Fast forward to today I reduced the price by 6€ and I assumed since there are 22 favourites someone might buy after my price is highly competitive.

Guess what not a single one did. So why favourite it at all? It been 5 weeks since some people have favourited and nothing????

I am wondering why did people bother favouriting in the first place?

Also what’s happening with new listing not getting views? I genuinely annoyed that if I repost it won’t get views like other listing I have made recently!

I think im being scammed?

Basically I sold my iPhone 13 for £130 and when the buyer received they said the phone had arrived with a crack. I was already suspicious about it because I wrapped it with two layers of bubble wrap and two layers of cardboard but whatever, I ended up agreeing to a return for a refund. However when it arrived the phone was cracked where the apple logo was and there was either food or something (which is so gross) on the phone. I’ve now decided to take it up with vinted, however I will ask if anyone thinks I’ll actually be given my money. Ill show our conversation and excuse me for my horrible spelling, I’m just really scared I’ll lose alot of money.
Btw I did show the sides of the phone and there were not scratches and I really don’t appreciate her bringing her daughter into the equation to trying and guilt trip me.

Also now that I’m looking about at the screenshots when i said I knew there was a crack, I was referring to knowing that she “received” the phone with a crack not that i sent her the phone knowing it was already broken. Also p.s I also understand that the way I was speaking came of quite rude however i was lowkey just kinda shocked and angry about the situation and im also 15 (not to use my age as an excuse) and i didn’t really know how to deal with it!Thanks for anyone who read the whole post!

Little Rant

I don’t understand how people cannot know the difference between the different type of conditions on Vinted when listing discs. It’s seriously not that fucking difficult. An infant can figure out the difference so why can’t you?

I’ve had a few discs with the incorrect condition. I know people are just trying to make a quick buck or two but it’s seriously frustrating.

Am I being a too much of a perfectionist? Maybe; but it’s part of the game at the end of the day 🤷‍♀️ If you can’t properly list the condition then maybe stay off the app.

Rant over

What’s up with no views on the listings?

I posted 2 products yesterday and no views? Recently views have decreased as well! What’s going on vinted? Is anyone also seeing the issue?

I think I have been scammed

Hi! I bought a pair of boots the other day from Vinted. In the description it said they were new, with tags. The pics were not great but they looked ok, inside the original box. I paid £50 with delivery.
The boots arrive, I open them and they are not new at all. I speak to the seller telling him I have a problem and I want to return them. He offers me £20 and I can keep them, but I rejected it and ask to send them back. He makes me pay the delivery, which I find unfair but I accept it. The thing is the parcel has arrived to the address, but he hasn’t picked it up yet. It has been 4 days there and I’m sure they are going to be sent back to me cos he is not picking them up or responding my messages. If this happens, am I losing the money? What can I do? It wasn’t my fault he lied to me, I find it very unfair. If it was £10 or £20, I would just leave it, but £50 is a considerable amount… should I speak to Vinted or I don’t have any other choice more than wait.
Thanks!

Vinted support is a joke

So I bought a pair of true religion jeans and they turned out to be fake I contacted vinted with proof they said wait or whatever and today they just released the payment telling me that they couldn't confirm that they are fake. What wrong with vinted support , how bad does a fake have to be for them to spot it

Scammer will return another item than the item I sent

The title mostly explains my situation. I want to shed light on these types of situations while I’m also open to any advice on how to handle it.

I sold an almost 600€ Pokémon card, I pulled this card myself and I have a lot of experience with Pokémon cards to tell which are fake and which aren’t. The buyer claims that the card is fake and wants to return it. The buyer has zero reviews and seems to be on a new account and says he used a flashlight to determine the authenticity of the card which is not even a valid method of checking a card. When I contacted the Vinted support they asked for evidence to prove the card’s authenticity. Luckily I had photographed the whole packing process (where you can see the card I sent matches with the pictures in the listing) and I also sent all the pictures used in the listing. The card clearly isn’t fake but Vinted decided to take the buyer’s side in this. The buyer is now allowed to return the card and I’m basically 100% certain that I’m gonna get either an empty box or a fake card returned. I feel helpless and I’m so tired of the stupid AI/template support answers. What do I do?

Can’t login to my Vinted account

Vinted was having problems earlier and it logged me out of my account. When I tried to log back in, it kept saying my password was incorrect. I tried requesting a password reset email several times, but I never received anything—even after checking spam, junk, and basically every folder in my email.
I reached out to Vinted support and got an automated response telling me to try logging in with Google because I might not have a password associated with my account. I think that may actually have been the case. However, when I tried logging in with Google, it ended up creating a completely new Vinted account using the same email address.
Now I’m stuck because I have both purchases and sales currently in transit, and I really need access to my original account in case anything goes wrong with one of the orders.
I’ve contacted customer service again, but I haven’t heard back. Everything I’m reading on the Vinted subreddit is making me nervous because everyone seems to say that Vinted customer support is basically nonexistent. 😩
Has anyone experienced something similar and managed to get their original account back? Any tips would be VERY appreciated!

Vinted parcel not updating after Relay drop-off despite receiving confirmation email.

Hi everyone, I’m new to this so please bear with me! Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
I posted a Vinted parcel yesterday at a Relay shop and received an email from Relay confirming that they had received my parcel. However, usually as soon as I drop off a Vinted parcel, I get a notification on Vinted confirming that it’s been shipped to the buyer. This time, I didn’t receive anything.
When I check the tracking, it still says “Awaiting your Vinted parcel”, despite the fact that I physically dropped it off and have an email confirming the Relay shop received it.
I actually shipped a separate Vinted parcel today, and that one updated on Vinted straight away after I posted it, so I’m quite worried about what has happened with this particular parcel, especially as it’s worth around £100.
I’ve already been back to the Relay shop and they told me it should have been collected by now and advised me to contact Relay.
Has anyone had this happen before? Did your tracking eventually update, or did the parcel still make it to the buyer despite Vinted not initially showing it as shipped?
Any advice/experiences would be really appreciated! Thank you 😊

Would you be suspicious of this Vinted seller?

I’m thinking about buying a ring from a well-known brand in my country on Vinted. The ring is listed as “new with tags.” In the photos, you can see the little tag inside the ring, and the ring is placed inside the brand’s original box. The ring is adjustable.

It originally costs €29, the seller listed it for €18, and I made an offer of €14 which she accepted.

Before buying it, I asked her if the ring had ever been worn and why she was selling it if it was new. She said it had never been worn and that she was selling it because her sister didn’t want it.

I then asked why the listing says the original box is not included, even though the box is clearly visible in the photos. She got quite annoyed and said that she keeps the box “for aesthetic purposes” because she needs it to take photos for her listings. She basically told me she didn’t want to answer an interrogation, and that if I wanted the ring I could buy it, otherwise it was fine. She then closed the chat, so I can’t message her anymore.

The thing that made me more suspicious is that I noticed she has another ring from the same brand currently listed, and looking through her reviews, she has sold several other rings from the same brand in the past few months — also without the original boxes.

So this is what I don’t understand: if these rings are genuinely new and she has multiple brand-new rings, why does she need to keep one box specifically for taking listing photos instead of using the original box belonging to each ring? Especially since the rings supposedly come with their own tags and are new.

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but the whole situation feels a little off to me. I’m not necessarily saying the rings are used or fake, but I’d like to know if you would consider this a red flag or if there’s a perfectly normal explanation I’m missing.

Would you still buy the ring for €14, or would you pass? Thanks!

Vinted support useless

I recently sold an item on vinted, shipped it in perfect condition and upon arrival a slight tear of the seal in the corner had become present. Buyer wanted a partial refund or a return. I’m not keen on any of those as i literally shipped the item in perfect condition and it’s now damaged and depreciated in value so i took it up with vinted support.

The case has been going on since 25th July and it’s now 18th august, I’ve sent multiple emails been in contact with various different operators and they all request the same evidence then don’t respond and ghost me. I just got a new message this morning from a new operator saying to send evidence again!!! (i have photos of product before/after and the shipping box before/after (not damaged at all)) They’ve put a 48 hour timer for me to send the same evidence and a new review, and if they don’t respond the buyer will keep the item and keep their money, by their going rates of taking a week to respond it’s not looking good.

What do i do because genuinley this has been the most frustrating experience ever.

Family member scammed

Family remember was scammed for 160 pound on vinted
Raised an issue with vinted they said need photos all fine wee sent all photos we took
Even took a video unboxing item but couldn't upload as photos only

They did send an item
I perfume wrapped up with label wrapped around it
We raised issue the account is like a ghost account
No pfp no responses
No other listing or reviews

Vinted took two weeks to respond and tell us next steps
Anyway we sent all the photos
They say they need a photo of the label laid flat and otherwise can't send a refund

We have multiple pictures of the label showing full label but it's wrapped round so didn't have a laid flat image

Is there anything we can do
Vinted is refusing to refund

What to do?

I asked to cancel an item I bought. First off I used the wrong creditcard and second I don't trust this guy, he isn't answering, multiple people saying he scammed them, the only thing he does is watch what I texted and cancel the cancellation request. If he sends it, it's going to be send to a mondial relay locker, do I just let it sit there until it's send back or ? Since he doesn't answer I can't negotiate anything

What happened..?

So i bought a hoodie immediately from someone because ive been looking for it for a while and i took time to ask if it had some unremovable stuff on it and where they got it from originally (i want a matching one too they dont sell) and they cancelled my order... so i was like wtf and now when I check their profile i cant buy anything and they re listed the hoodie... like why cant i just re buy it, or buy anything else from them? Why did they cancel without answering? Why cant i message anymore? I dont understand anything to that behaviour.

Are any other sellers frustrated that they’re losing money from canceled sells over the smallest inconsistencies?

Just to clarify please be nice! I’m a teenage seller and I just want some serious advice and a place to vent my frustrations, I don’t want to spread hate 🩷

I am extremely frustrated with Vinted and I don’t know what to do. I lost about $30+ from buyers raising issues and getting their refunds back. I don’t know if they’re purposely trying to scam me.

I sold a Blackgammon board game and Vinted agreed to refund a buyer because they believed it was the wrong item, but I sent the exact box unopened, and the picture they uploaded matches the first and second picture exactly. They confused the third picture where I used examples of other backgammon games I got from the internet to demonstrate what blackgammon looks like because some people might not know what the game is. I assumed there was no way buyers would confused it with the real listing. Since the box is unopened I couldn’t take a picture of the board game on the inside. This was $14 so not just a small amount money.

I’ve always had issues with Vinted of buyers raising issues about a small misunderstanding or inconsistency and I lost a lot of money from it.

I lost money because a buyer claimed the package did not have the item in it, which I don’t know why it wouldn’t be, but I gave them a refund. I lost money when a bubble wrapped plastic mask was damaged in transit with very small cracks and Vinted issued them a full refund. I lost money because I sent a rolled up poster with wrapping and it was flattened/ damaged during transit. I lost money from earrings with bubble wrap because the metal pieces broke in transit.

It all adds up to losing $30+ and more and I’m extremely frustrated. I understand some of it is fault on my behalf (like not packaging correctly or proving confusing listings), but I hope you guys understand how little these mistakes are and I’ve lost TONS of money over this, even when it was damaged in transit, and Vinted agrees with the buyer every time. This only happened to me once on Depop.

For some of them like this boardgame I seriously think the buyer is trying to scam me or taking advantage of me by noticing a small inconsistency in my listing and requesting a refund so they can get the item for free.

Is anyone else frustrated or have any advice? Thank you 🩷

Also I wanted to clarify I have 5.0 stars, I do come with an agreement with the buyers to ensure satisfaction, I’m just frustrated that’s all, I promise I’m not a bad seller 🫠

First time being scammed after 160+ 5 star reviews *UPDATE*

I took the advice from the comments and tried to be stern, I wasn’t getting much reply and decided to do what a few other comments said by making him return (and pay for postage).

Now he’s saying if I leave him a 5 star review he’ll accept the order.

Am I allowed to tell him I’ll leave a 5 star review, and then leave him a 1 star review?

Unjustified permanent ban

Like the title says, I've been permanently banned by Vinted AI under the suspicion of fraud.

Everything started when I posted a pair of genuine leather flip flops from COS. I bought them from another seller on vinted, however they eneded up being too big so I tried reselling them.

A French buyer kept offering me very low price for them. I told him I don't plan on selling them for lower than a certain amount, to which he replied with even lower offer, an obviously bad intention from his part.

I ended up telling him to buy himself a pair of zara flip flops for that money and blocked him. A few hours later my account was permanently banned for the fraud.

I tried appealing through vinted ticket, 4 weeks passed without answer.

I also tried sending emails to vinted legal and e-commerce team which keep bouncing me back and forth between vinted support ticket and e-commerce team.

What can I do to get my account back?
