Hi everyone. This weekend I’m going to look at a 2014 XC70 3.2 to potentially replace my aging 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At least once a year I go on a weeklong camping trip at Cape Lookout NC and need a vehicle that can handle driving on the sand there. I’m not entirely sure if a XC70 is a good fit for this or if another vehicle would be a better idea. Also would be extremely thankful for any advice on stuff to look out for while inspecting the car.
Couple of years i have missed and dreamed of owning a volvo, today i had to do it!
2007
D5 AWD automatic
326000km on the clock and works like a charm!
I filled up my tank the other day, and noticed afterwards the mpg/fuel tank capacity was lower than usual at 250mi instead of 350.
kept an eye on it, noticed fuel consumption is fine but the dash reading is still off.
anyone have this issue? got a P3 T6.
Hey everyone,
CAR:
2011 XC70 T6
I’m needing help manually cranking my motor from the crankshaft.
I have the passenger wheel and wheel well liner off and can’t seem to find the crankshaft
If someone could please help me I’d greatly appreciate it.
I’ve done quite a bit of research but havnt any direct answers and there isn’t really imagery or documentation online for this transversely mounted inline SI6.
Bought this baby in 2016 with 92,000 miles and now here we are!
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2002 V70 XC (XC70) with 151,XXX miles off of marketplace. I got a very good deal because the owner noticed an oil leak and decided to just get a new car. After some inspection I found the oil coming from behind the passenger tire near the timing belt. I assumed It was the front main seal. So today I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, idler, etc. along with the front crank seal. However after I put everything back and filled it with oil, the leak was still there. Since I cleaned all of the oil off, I am now able to see the source for the most part. See attached image. My first thought was valve cover gasket but now that i look closer, the area where the valve cover meets the head seems completely dry. The leak is coming from behind this black plastic shield behind the cam gears and I have no clue what would be back there that would cause this other than maybe head gasket. What do you all think? Thanks so much in advance and have a good day!
She picked it up in Sweden and put 145k miles on it. She has every single piece of paperwork on it, a tow hitch (not installed) and it is in perfect shape—not a scratch. It lived in her garage its whole life. It is dark gray.
How can I determine a good price for it? Its in Florida.
Thanks!
I am looking for help in diagnosing a whining noise that my 2007 Volvo XC70 has been making when taking right turns at slower speeds. I have performed the following steps in hopes of fixing the issue, but so far none of them have worked:
With the CV joint boots having been damaged, could this have damaged the wheel bearing and be causing the whining noise?
Any help that you could provide before I bring it to a professional mechanic will be greatly appreciated.
When I replaced the crankshaft seal on my 2008 Volvo XC70, I damaged the outer bore bit it did not come to the front edge. I installed the new seal and watched for leaks. A month later, on a 300 mile trip, an oil leak developed. What are my options?
Hi, is there anyone who could help me find workshop in Malmö? Yesterday in night my powersteering went and then „charging system failiure” warning came on. I need to get back to czech republic as soon as possible. In bilia jagersro I was told that at best they would help me next week
It was the craziest thing I got in my car, shut the door and clunk, the window fell forward. I took the door panel apart and the clips were cracked on the regulator rail(?). The clips are an easy fit but I'm worried about the glide it sits in. It's bent a little and has what could be sharp edges for that plastic to rub against. Had a buddy help me get it put back up and I taped it for now.
Open for all comments and suggestions. This is my daily, so no chewing gum remedies 😂Thanks all
Im trying to locate the DPF pressure sensor on my xc70 D4 (4 cyl ) 2014, but cant find it anywhere in the engine bay.
Tried asking ChatGPT and Gemini, but they seem to have no clue.
Does anybody have a picture of where the sensor is located?
Thanks!
I picked up a sweet 2016 T5 Premier AWD this spring, 93k miles and seemingly in great shape. I had an independent shop do an inspection before buying and it came back great so I bought it despite limited documented maintenance history.
Long story short, our financial situation has changed a little bit and I'm considering selling the '16 and picking up an '08 3.2 with 157k miles on it for $4-5k. I really don't drive very much- home, kids schools and work are all within a few miles of each other (typically average about 5k miles a year).
Truthfully, I really love my current XC70 and don't really want to sell but we could certainly use the extra money for our monthly budget.
Any thoughts or insight into swapping the '16 for an older, higher mileage xc70?
Hello, so I know it’s a small and video and not the best sound also quality but I wanted to know if my engine sounds normal for that model and kind of engine.
So I have a XC70 from 2006 P2 with a 2,4l diesel engine and 5 cylinders. It also has a turbo built in.
I think it sounds normal but I think I hear a frequent clicking and it’s a bit loud. Especially when I step on gas.
Maybe you have one of these models or know how it’s sounds with engine normally?
My boyfriend was telling me to look into rebuild kits because CV Axels tend to be the most incorrectly manufactured replacement parts on cars and the only one I couldn’t find many options for one besides a Duralast Gold one from Autozone… he said I should look into a rebuild kit or even just a boot, but I’m having trouble finding anything like that. Does anyone have any recommendations, advice, etc?
Being floated the idea of taking my aunts 07 xc70 Off her hands for significant discount. The catch is its in San Fran and would have to drive it back to NC. It has around 110k miles on it but other than that it is in working condition. Reason im being told she is looking to part from it is Cali smog requirements. Apparently she is saying its too hard to pass this car. Thoughts of it making the drive cross country? Thoughts on passing smog requirements in cali?
