HID headlight adjustment

HID headlight adjustment

Hey all! I bought a 2015.5 T6 a couple months ago and it is a fantastic machine. A few things that need work (a small vibration I cannot figure out, most likely the tires), but one that I cannot find any information on is how to adjust the HID headlights. The driver side is way too low, and in general it feels like I'm out-driving my lights above 80km/h, which sucks since I drive a lot a night. If anyone knows how to adjust it so I can actually see more than 2 seconds ahead that'd be great.

Here she is next to my civic, definitely prefer the Volvo. She had more cosmetic issues than the dealership let on (not surprised), but overall still in great condition

I bought this one for the bones, I can fix everything else. The only thing that scared me was it shutting off on the highway, but that was after 6 hours of driving at 80 mph in 100 degree weather. Didn't do it again on my way home, so, I'll chalk it up to the car hating PA

Steering noise

Is this normal? I changed the steering fluid, but it’s still hard when steering. It’s always been hard. Is it okay or how hard should it be?

Volvo XC90 2.9 (2005) – Can anyone identify this noise?

Alvast bedankt.

Opinions on these repairs?

New Volvo XC70 owner here. I went to my local independent auto shop that I have been going to for years and I've built a great relationship with these mechanics. For some extra background, I've done $1200+ of repairs prior to give this tank some extra care and longevity. I love this car (currently at 220,000 miles) and got it passed down from my uncle) and only pay insurance for it. Based on the market of used cars today, I really don't like the idea of a car note and I would still like my car to truck through 300,000 miles. Would these repairs provide me with that good feeling of "hell yeah, that was worth it" in the long run or should I still look for something more reliable down the road and find a more modern car? At the moment, weighing my cost options and financial plans for the future, I'm leaning towards really putting in more work into this car because $3-4k in repairs seems 1000% more appealing than finding a good used car that still might be pricey. Down the road I feel like I can still squeeze out a ton more life out of this beast of a car. Any recommendations for this car in the future?

Keyless Entry Fob Replacement

2001 V70 XC - keyless entry fob stopped working - battery changed still no good. Currently have one working unit but would like another one. Volvo Indy costs $380 for a replacement.

Does anyone know if there are any more cost effective alternatives?

Considering an XC70

My wife and I are considering a 2012 XC70 with the 3.2 inline 6 as a third car to take the dogs and kids places without having to take two cars. It was a rental vehicle for about a year (roughly 15k miles) then bought by someone who used it as their personal car since. It has about 150k miles now and I can get it for just under $5,600. How reliable are these cars, truly? Any potential pitfalls to be mindful of?

About to join the club! I pick her up on Friday

2006!

Still waiting to hear back on when the timing belt was done, she's at 155k miles, so I'm really hoping for good news, otherwise its gonna be a risk getting it back home 10 hours. I'd feel like I was overpaying (6k) if it wasn't for how good condition it is. Only option I can tell it has is the upgraded bumpers and the homelink system

Which

by the way, is insane that a 2006 has homelink when my 2019 civic doesn't. Wild.

Howdy folks! Been wanting to join the team for a while. Just picked up this 2005 XC70 in Las Vegas. (Read body text)

Land Rover transplant here. For years I’ve been Volvo-curious and I finally took the plunge. Picked up this XC70 for $1k from a retired aerospace engineer who meticulously maintained it over the years. 3rd photo is the spreadsheet he kept and updated with each service and repair. He also included all service records. Right now she’s sitting at 200k miles and I’m hoping to get at least another 100k out of it - but from what I’ve seen in this sub, I may get even more!

This is gonna be an occasional driver/project car. My goal is to turn this in to an overland/mountain ride for weekend camping and hiking trips. Planning on adding a lift, some A/T tires, roof rack and exterior lamps. The basics for that sort of thing.. however I want to make sure shes mechanically sound before I do any of that.

Super clean inside and out with minor cosmetic wear. The worst is a tiny dent on the driver door and a little whistle coming from the sunroof. Currently runs and drives like a dream! Adding some window tint asap (to beat the Vegas sun) and hopefully a new touchscreen car-play device to replace the very outdated stereo.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Finally got our first Volvo, imported from Sweden. Stopped for meatballs on the way.

2014, D4, 5 cylinder, Summum.
Car has vibrations over 120km/h. Hopefully just those old tires. Engine and transmission smooth as butter.

2001 Safety mods XC70-daily driver (only car)

Volvo purists look away, its 2026.

Back in 2021 (18,249km ago) i installed this TFT screen which displays and audible alarm OBD2 speed Battery Coolant and CEL's. The most important was an overheating coolant alarm but have also experienced an alternator failure that was very slow to alert me. The speed display is very handy and only takes a quick glance as i know exactly where to look.

Just joined the Club

Just picked up "Goldie" (Luna gold) from a Volvo specialist. It's more like a light green to me in person. What a colour! 🟢

2006 years with 111000km+ mileage.

Currently I'm looking to install android auto & Apple car play and rear camera for parking (never drove such a long wheel base car as a new driver)

Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

Thank you 🙏🏻

2003 volvo xc70 coolant issues

Not sure what's going on, its my gfs car and she is loosing all the coolant in her reservoir every day. Multiple refills some times within minutes. Always after hard acceleration to get up hills. I did spark plugs recently cause of a miss and didnt see any coolant mixed with the oil in the heads. So I dont think its going there. Other issue with the car is a persistent oil leak since I got it for her. (Not sure if rear main seal or not). Coolant can be found in the front of the engine compartment when she goes to fill it up back up. I had the car the other week while replacing rack and pinion had a full reservoir and never once leaked. Let it idle for 30mins and no sweet smell also tried hovering around 3k rpms to get it to leak but nothing. Any ideas would be helpful.
