Hi. I am in desperate need of help. My wife has a Mercedes c220 automatic which has developed a problem. When you select drive the display on the dash doesn't change to what has been selected and then once you do drive and stop you are unable to change to anything but neutral unless you turn the car off anf remove the key. The car also once it is driving will not change gear ratios and revs very high if you accelerate.

I spoke to a mercedes specialist garage who cant look at the car for potentially 2/3 months. They suggested the gear selector needed changing. This has been done but the problem is still happening!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe somebody knows where this rattling at the beginning comes from? I checked the timing chain and it had no play at all.
It appears at every cold and warm start but not at a instant restart.

I'm planning to buy a Clk500 possibly. The wheels it has got on right now are definitely not suitable for the drive back and thus i thought luckily i have four 16 inch W203 Elegance wheels at home with good tires and i thought W209 should likely be able to fit 203 wheels.

ChatGPT says. otherwise. It says these wheels could turn out to be to small for the brakes especially at the front.

I did have 16 inch yilduz wheels once on my V6 W211 E280. Why wouldn't it work on a Clk500.

Unfortunately the Clk500 is 300km away and i can't just try it out.

Do you have any suggestions or perhaps know if you can fit 16 inches on a CLK 500 W209?

The W203 rims i wanted to take with me have these specs:

Tires: 205/55 R16 91 V

Wheels:

7J x 16 ET 31

I have another four Mercedes-Benz 16 inch Yilduz wheels at home too but idk if W211 wheels would be the alternative

Hello guys ,im trying to find the o2 sensor on my w203,i read that i will find it on the dpf on the ingoing or the outgoing pipe but cant seem to find it.Any help appriciated

She runs great, i know about the timing chain on the m271 but so far its fine at cold starts.

Is there a light that’s supposed to come on when I press the comfort/sport button? Or something on the dash?

I’ve always used 91 premium but anyone use e85?
It says I can use it on gas cap too but I’m assuming there’s not much of a reason to.

Finally got my first benz. Couldn’t be happier. W203 C320 Avantgarde

Context 2006 c230 factory manual 2.5L 272 car.

I engine swapped it 3 years ago with a 2011 e350 3.5L 272 its tuned with long tube headers and full exhaust.

Busted it in the winter time and let it sit for months.

Cut the rotors to get rid of the pulse from it sitting for almost a year
I upgraded the oil seperator to the aluminum cover and rtv’d it into place to stop it leaking.

Just replaced all 4 O2 sensors

Resealed the oil cooler/ filter housing.

New power steering pump and reservoir

New coolant, new oil, new power steering fluid (from mercedes) new manual transmission oil (75w75 from mercedes)

Now to finish fitting the bucket seats. Weld the rear differential and replace the gear oil with new merc oil (75w85) and clearance the rear quarter panels and mod the rear bumper to stop it from rubbing

8 years of ownership and I truly have no idea what it’s for.

Hello everyone, back again. I've had a ticking in my engine for a little while now, and I ended up having to let the car sit for a while. Low and behold, I started it up today after about a month and a half, and the ticking has become a rattle! If anyone has had this problem in the past, some light shed onto this would be amazing. I'm going to try to document any repairs I do in hopes of helping others at some point down the line, but I'm trying to get my head at where to look first.

A few months ago I bought a used (and rather rough) C230 Kompressor sedan. It had front end damage in the front, and I am slowly repairing it. One thing that was broken was an AC discharge line at the condenser. I’ve searched pretty extensively for a new one, but no one seems to carry it. I’m curious, is anyone skilled at finding parts like these?
