New Teaser — The Dynasty: #UConnHuskies — Streaming August 21

So from what we know there's going to be a Paige-centric episode, which is likely episode 3 (I think Ari Chambers mentioned it). It'll talk about Paige's struggles in her 5th year (Tennessee game that changed everything, tension between her and Geno, etc.) and from this new clip P&A also talk about their relationship a bit.

I think Diana will also be in the doc since I've seen pics of her in the same background as Paige when she does her interviews. It's 3 episodes so I wonder what the first 2 will be like, I hope we get to see older UConn players too since the title is "The Dynasty"

WNBA is always losing money. They get the biggest chance to finally increase their profits.

The WNBA has always been losing money and leeches off of the NBA. They now get a chance to permanently increase their value with the recent events but they won't take it. Sophie and Caitlin will carry them, but they blew it.

The REAL issue with Angel Reese [basketball discussion]

Neither a hate post nor fan post I’m just genuinely concerned and want to talk about why an otherwise very mobile athlete struggles to load her hips during any field goal attempt.

Context: Angel did have a metal rod inserted in her leg after long term stress injuries to the ankle her Freshman year at UMD.

I personally attribute to malnourishment and inadequate trainers.

The core scoring issues seem to stem from a few breakdowns

  1. Inability to plant foot during drive

This is the source of the “pray up” where she can’t do a 1-2 plant and instead just throws the ball toward the rim mid-stride.

  1. Inability to load hips during jump shot.

This is someone who shoots both 15% from the 3 point line and over 70%!!! from the free throw line. How can an above average free throw shooter be so abysmal at converting from 3 steps backwards?

I think it’s similar to issue 1. where because of fear of planting her foot her entire lower body mechanics breaks down.

Conc: I can’t see why she doesn’t focus on floaters, a set shot and working on a soft gather step to jump off two.

She’ll never be a 1 foot jumper but her efficiency should be much higher. Maybe medicine ball marches? Yoga? Something from an S&C perspective. She apparently had an ankle injury last month on the same leg.

Why wasn’t this a convo on draft night? Is her team addressing it at all? What are her long term prospects in the WNBA? Is it all mental?

What do you think?

A’ja Wilson might be adding another MVP to the collection - She currently has the best odds to win her fifth WNBA MVP, which would extend her record for the most MVP awards in league history. Another dominant season from Wilson.
