Advice on transferring to ncsu!!!

Hi! I recently got rejected from ncsu and now unsure of what do. I’ve already committed to Unc Charlotte as a finance major I understand its a good school but I really don’t want to go there for personal reasons. I was hoping that if I do end up going there I would transfer for the spring semester to Ncsu. However, I am unsure how likely it is for me to get into state during the spring semester and how does the application process work? especially if im transferring from college to another. I am also considering attending wake tech and completing 2 years before transferring to ncsu for my last 2. I know that will save me lots of money especially since im not really excited to attend uncc. I was wondering how the process of transferring from wake tech to ncsu will work? would I be able to transfer after one year instead of two? I have taken 8 AP Classes and dual enrollment so would that should cover some credits and help begin building up my credit? Would it be smarter to choose Wake Tech or UNCC if I am planning on transferring? Thank you!!

Unable to access course on coursea

I have been assigned a course in courses, but haven't been able to access the course. I tried organization login but was not able to find waketech.

Do I need to create a new login in coursea, using my waketech email?

CTI 120 am I dumb, or?

So I took this class in the Spring, and it was a bunch of networking labs, with zero explanation and if you make a mistake you have to start completely over, they take hours. And I have ZERO network knowledge. I reached out to the one professor to ask for help and he wasn't any, so I dropped. I am taking it with another professor this summer, and they post the same packet trackers with zero explanation. I thought maybe I missed a prerequisite but I did not. How on earth are people figuring out networking with zero walk through, zero instruction or videos or PowerPoints. I have a 4.0 in my Cyber degree, I just can not get through this class. Help.

Anyone with an associate in arts in teacher preparation?

Hi, I’m going back to school and I just made a post the other day and it’s been helpful! But another question, I just registered for fall! Thankfully I was able to snag some courses up. Would someone be able to tell me if I’m taking the right courses for my first semester? The 5 classes are what I registered for and then the other paper is like a guide line. Am I doing this right ? lol thanks in advance

Is August a good time to start my associates?

Hi guys! After years and years, I finally decided to go back to college and I’m going for my associate in arts in teacher preparation to than transfer to a university, I was gonna take June classes but I guess because I waited last minute there are no June classes and August is wait listed, is it because August registration isn’t open yet? Or it’s open but all classes are full? I’m also going to speak to an advisor on Monday to help schedule my classes. Is it worth it to go in on Monday and wait for August classes to start? Please help.

Bread Baking Certificate - How intense is it?

Hi all, if you've taken or are currently taking classes for the Bread Baking Certificate, could you share your thoughts? Did you learn a lot? Is this like being on a reality show with Gordan Ramsey? Do the instructors yell at you a lot? How much time do you spend outside of class studying? Do you feel like you learned how to develop your own recipes?

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know when they start checking fall FAFSA forms?

Hi all, so I have a situation I’m curious about…. Since it’s my first time doing college & FAFSA.
So I applied for financial aid back on March 20th for the 2026-27 school year and it was processed. I’ve already made sure that I put the correct school code (wake tech), correct social, everything. So basically what I’m curious is if my FAFSA is all good?
Because when I check my checklist it still says I need to complete a FAFSA….
However. I’ve reached out to the Financial Aid office on campus and they told me they received 2 forms (one of my correction because I had to change addresses & one original) and that they haven’t started doing the fall FAFSA yet….
But it’s getting closer to the deadline and I’m getting anxious. It’s my first time attending college and I don’t want to wait too long past the deadline….
Shouldn’t my checklist show I’ve completed it?
And does anyone know when they start checking the forms or I’ll have an update?
I just need some advice… thank you!

What do you do after you've been accepted?

I applied to Wake Tech, and got accepted, but now what am I supposed to do? Do I meet with a counselor, and when? When can I start registering for classes? I plan to attend in the fall.

Nursing Orientation

I normally don’t post on here but I’m stressing out about a potential road block for entry to the nursing program for spring 2027. I know orientation is mandatory, so if you don’t show up your spot is given to someone else. From what I’ve heard it’s mid November. I’ll be out of the country Oct 25-Nov 8th and I’m terrified I’ll miss it if I get accepted. Is there anyone that can tell me what dates they had their orientation in the last 2-3 years or so? Thanks!

TEAS question

Hi, so I recently passed the teas test. Does wake tech use the overall composite score you made when you send your scores to them or do they do things differently?

MAT 152 w/ April Harrison

Taking it with her since it was one of the only strictly online stats sections over the summer. I’m good with math, so-so with Excel. How cooked am I?
