The symbolic father–son conflict is more intense in monotheism than in polytheism, because monotheism constructs a single, absolute Father who cannot be replaced, killed, or surpassed.

Celibacy is a technique for modulating pnoè. Judaism’s main weakness is that it does not valorize celibacy, and in fact it structurally rejects it.
