Looking for experiences with The Maker Hotel in Hudson!

Has anyone gotten married at The Maker Hotel? We’re seriously considering it and love the idea of making the wedding more of a full weekend experience in Hudson.

I’d especially love to hear about: The full hotel buyout/room block — they told us that for ceremonies on property, a full hotel buyout is required, since the hotel has only 11 rooms. Did anyone do this, and how did the room block work in practice?

Did the buyout actually mean the entire hotel was exclusively yours for the weekend, including all common spaces/restaurants/etc., or were there any limitations?

Overall pros/cons of having the wedding there — service, food, logistics, guest experience, noise/space limitations, etc. We'd love to hear it all!

ISO Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer!

Hi everyone!

I'm really struggling to find a wedding photographer, and I'm hoping someone here has recommendations.

My fiancé and I are getting married on July 24, 2027 at Handsome Hollow in Long Eddy, NY (it's a bit of a destination wedding). One of our friends took our save-the-date photos, and I completely fell in love with them and the overall aesthetic. (Cinematic? Nature-forward? Romantic Nostalgia??) (Timeless!!) She's just starting out with photography, though, and since she'll be attending as a guest, I don't want her to have to spend the day working.

The problem is that I can't seem to find any photographers whose portfolios have a similar style, and I'm hoping to find someone who can capture that same vibe for our wedding.

Our budget is ideally $6,500 or less (though I'm not sure if that's realistic for this area, so please let me know if I'm way off!).

If anyone has recommendations for photographers in the Catskills, Hudson Valley, Upstate NY, or even New England who are willing to travel and shoot in this style, I'd be so grateful! I'd also love to hear if you've worked with someone you absolutely loved.

85-110pp++ budget

Would consider almost anywhere if I can find this budget for venue, food, drinks. I’ve found 2 so far in Queens and now looking to see if I can expand that list upstate.
