Thinking of a 2018 BMW 318i

Ive been looking for a car to buy. Ive done my fair research and honestly my options are A) (just cuz i want a nicer car) bmw318I 2018 with close to 100km on it. I just want something that isnt a Korean, Japanese or Chinese and again something i hope doesnt drain my bank account atleast for the first year. My budget is low lets say around 40k AED. So my options are limited. Now im hesitant that the bmw would give me a problem earlier than if i go for something which is more preferable (by the people around me) an MG GT or maybe a toyota or something of sorts. I just want a German tbf. Just want opinions if this is a smart choice to go for or not.

Car between 30k to 50k

Hey guys I’m looking to finance a car soon as I need one badly. I have set my budget between 30k to 50k for a 5 year finance (which means it has to be 2021+). I am willing to go up to 60k if the car is genuinely reliable and cuts down costs. I was originally going to go for byd destroyer 05 Chinese spec, but I’m actually worried it doesn’t go that well and I should explore my options further.

Carlinkit 2Air Wireless CarPlay + Android Auto Adapter – Brand New Sealed

Hey, selling a Carlinkit 2Air wireless adapter, brand new, sealed (not opened at all).

This lets you convert your car’s wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into wireless, so no more plugging your phone every time you drive.

Super convenient honestly, just plug it once and it connects automatically after that.

Works with both iPhone and Android, so anyone can use it.

Bought it originally for 220 AED, didn’t end up needing it, so just selling as it is.

Condition: 10/10 (brand new, sealed)

Box is completely untouched

Price is already reduced & slightly negotiable, but please no low offers 🙂

Camry or Sonata

I’m in the market for either a sonata top end or the camry lumiere. I like the sonata since it has crazy tech and looks cool and modern but I hear it doesn’t last long and Camry on the other hand is awesome too but the interior is kinda boring to me. I had an accent back in UAE which had smooth steering and was decent ride. I’m looking for an upgrade . Open to suggestions!

Looking for a used car under 50K AED

Looking for recommendations for a used GCC-spec car under 50k AED in the UAE.
Requirements:
Reliable daily driver
Fun to drive / not boring
Decent fuel economy
Preferably easy & not too expensive to maintain
GCC spec only
Not interested in Sunny, Corolla, Yaris etc. Looking for something with a bit more character.
Would appreciate suggestions based on ownership experience, maintenance costs, common issues, and fuel economy in UAE driving conditions.

BMW X4 / RAV4 / or other?

Hello everyone,

Me and my wife (both 33yo) just moved to Dubai in Feb 2026 and we've been renting so far, but we feel it's time to buy a car.

Our budget is around 65k AED, we are fine getting a second hand car and not fancy as we are both quite simple and frugal.

We were pretty keened to get a Toyota, particularly the RAV4, because we like the car and seems pretty reliable and low maintenance.

But recently we stumbled upon the possibility of getting a BMW X4 xDrive 30i from 2021. The car is GCC specs with 125k kms, all maintenance has been done on time and in the BMW garage.

This comes from someone we know and that we are sure he would not recommend the car if he knew something was wrong. This was the company's car of the Managing Director in the company this gentleman works for a long time, so 95% of the time was driven by the same person.

I was inside the car once or twice and seems really well taken care, interiors look great, exterior also, no funny noises (at that time I was not looking deeply because I didn't know it was for sale).

The asking price is 70k AED, which is the high end of our budget but when searching the market, this seems quite a good price, and we can afford it with no problem.

If we decide to proceed, a PPI is of course the step to take, just to be sure nothing is wrong that the guy might not know.

Since we are quite new here, wanted to hear your advice if we should go for it, how much we can expect in maintenance costs (I'm okay with not going to BMW garage for it if it's a steal), overall driving experience, etc compared to a RAV4 which we will not exactly know the origin but overall reputation shows it's very reliable (feel free to suggest other cars also within the budget!).

Thanks a lot!!

Buying a used car in Dubai dealer or direct owner?

What’s usually less risky here: buying from a dealer or directly from the owner? Dealers feel more convenient, but sometimes the prices are higher and you don’t always know the full story. Direct owners might be cheaper, but then you have to deal with inspection, paperwork, negotiation, and hoping they’re honest about the car.For people who’ve bought used cars in Dubai/UAE, which route worked better for you? And what checks would you never skip?

New Chinese or Used American/Japanese?

I am looking for my next car. I currently drive a 2025Chery Tiggo 8. I am a huge lover of large size cars and a Tiggo does not tick that box. My budget’s around AED200-250k. Do i go for a brand new Jetour G700 or Leopard 8? Or do i put in the same amount of money and get something like a Nissan Patrol/Ford Expedition/GMC Yukon/Lincoln Navigator that’s 2-3 years old.

I’m not looking into Land Cruiser just because of the lack of features.

Another option (not most favourable) - I could also buy a brand new Prado, GMC Acadia or a Ford Explorer, they are all within the same budget range.

What should I do? Knock some sense into me lol

Thinking of buying an American-spec Lexus under AED 40K — IS series or crossover SUV. Worth it or should I look elsewhere?

Budget is firmly under AED 40K and I'm looking at the used/pre-owned market for an American-spec Lexus — either the IS series (IS 300 / IS 350) or one of their crossover SUVs (NX or RX range).

A few things I'm genuinely curious about:

American-spec vs. other-market specs are there meaningful differences in features, safety kit, or build quality I should be aware of? Any compromises?

Reliability at this price point for a used Lexus in this budget, what model years and mileage ranges should I be targeting to stay in the sweet spot?

IS vs. SUV I'm torn between the IS for the driving feel and an NX/RX for practicality. Anyone made that switch and regretted (or loved) it?

Parts and servicing how does the maintenance cost stack up compared to non-luxury Japanese brands like Toyota or MAZDA? Any gotchas?

Resale value — how does Lexus hold its value compared to others at a similar used price?

First used car for student

Hi guys, I’m a student and looking for my first car. I don’t want to spend much time and have headaches with it so reliability is my priority.

My budget is around 20-40k, and I don’t like sedan so SUV or compact SUV should be great. Do you have any advice?

Many thanks!

Honda City DX vs LX

I am planning to buy a new honda city. Is the DX version a good first car? As much as I want the LX trim for its upgrade (smart entry, reverse camera, alloy wheels) its a little bit out of my budget. Here's their specifications.

Any honda city user out there? Any advice for a first time honda car owner here in UAE?

Mazda 3, Mazda 6 or Lexus IS

I want to buy a used car as a first car. I would like for it to look somewhat sporty and be reliable and cheap to maintain. I really like the look of the Mazda 6 and Lexus IS series. But i dont know much about reliability and running costs. Which one should I get?

Is this car worth it for 1hr drives RAK to Sharjah up and down daily?

Can this car reliably take the daily drives four times a week from RAK to SHARJAH.
Let me know what your thoughts are and this price too. Also parts - available or will it wear away quickly with that mileage?
