UPDATE: First and foremost, I want to say thank you to everyone. A lot of you have given me great advice and I plan to contact a funeral home for more information!
For all of you telling me to open it, I will not. I am a spiritual person so throwing it away is not really an option for me
There is no tag on the outside or on the bottom of it. It does have some weight to it, my husband said maybe a couple pounds.
For those of you asking about the salt lines, i put lines of salt on a few of my steps. I do this for spiritual protection. I edited the post to clear up my original statement.
I am located in the US!
I want to reiterate that I’m asking for kindness on this post.
Original post:
Hey everyone! I recently bought a home and there is some type of urn living in the basement. The previous owners claimed they have never seen this urn in the 20 yrs they lived there. (I don’t believe this lol) I’m just wondering if anyone here has any ideas of what to do with it? I reached out to the village historian and I’m waiting to hear back. I’m just trying to get any information on the home I can.
It does have weight to it and it’s sealed, i will not be opening this! My uncle pulled it down from the shelf to inspect it and put it back.
It creeps my husband and I out, we’re kinda afraid of the basement. I have put so much salt in front of the basement door it’s in
Any advice is appreciated! I ask everyone to be kind as I’ve never dealt with something like this before. Thanks in advance!
I have a vague idea, but curious what others think
This is my father in laws cabinet. He filled it up with tools and moved cross country. At some point it fell, and the lock engaged, now he can't get it open. We're soliciting advice on how to go about getting this open. Apparently he tipped it upside down to see if gravity would lift the locking pins out of position haha
Anyone know how these locks work and can maybe offer some advice? He's going to use a bore scope where the key hole is missing, but I am skeptical he'll find anything...
Hello. On Ikea stand. What is the back 'hook' for? Michael 👍
I don’t see anything missing parts and this was just laying on the floor of my apartment just inside the doorway and close to the kitchen. There is nothing for it to have fallen from or out of. When I saw the battery I thought maybe my car key fob but it’s intact. I searched FC:001 and I’m pretty sure it’s a controller. But the first hit was for a bidet and I don’t have that plus this was just laying on the floor by my kitchen. It’s not fallen from a smoke detector. All I can figure is it was on my show but it’s not smashed. Any ideas?
Solved! Single button gate fob for old apartment. Thanks! I was genuinely concerned that someone was up to something.
Not even my boss knows 😂
I got this today from a Salvation Army, they have no idea what the code is.
I tried the obvious 000, 111, 222, 333, ect…
It says Corbin Sesamee under the numbers. Google says it’s a train bag from the 1970s.
Any ideas besides trying 1,000 combinations?
UPDATE: I got it open!! I brought it to work and worked on it during breaks. I tried 001-999 multiple times and got to the point that I didn’t care if I broke it so I jammed a screw driver into the button and pried it has far over as it could and it popped open!! It was an ashtray and a key.

I’ll post a comment with the picture too
Thank you everyone for all of your help
This is in the concrete subfloor of a bedroom closet. It was underneath some old laminate flooring that we removed today. If anyone has any idea how to get into this thing I'm all ears
