Timing-based practice app (moon, planetary hours, sabbats). Practitioner feedback wanted

Hi everyone. We built Arctara around timing, moon phase, planetary hour, and sabbat timing together, so you can see when something's actually well-timed, not just how to do it.

Save your workings, plan spells around real timing, hemisphere-aware Wheel of the Year, a deity compendium tied to timing rather than static entries. Tarot, runes, dream journal, and grimoire all connected to the same logic.

Free, closed beta, kept small on purpose so practitioners can actually shape what's missing.

Happy to answer any questions, and honestly curious what this community thinks is missing from apps in this space.

Please help

Hello all!! I have been scouring the Internet for a place where I can buy single stones/crystals/minerals/gems. I'd like them all to be the same shape like the rectangles used to make runes, or the small points you can find to make jewelry with. I need to be able to buy one of each, but unfortunately the metaphysical shops near me, and all the shops I'm seeing online don't have this as an option. It's always a grab bag of randoms, bulk of the same stone, or simply not what I'm looking for. I'm open to other options shape wise. These are my preferred, but I am open to other options. If anyone could recommend something i would genuinely appreciate that. On a side note, any online shop recommendations would also be helpful

Newby

Hello everyone! I'm new here and I have questions. For a little background, I grew up practicing in a way without knowing. My grandma always said we were gifted but she never specified it completely. I knew I was powerful given the abilities I had growing up. My grandma said that she was afraid of how good I was at it so she "tied" my abilities and locked them away till I was ready. I'm now an adult and she's never unlocked them that I know of.

I feel completely unaligned with myself. My intuition isn't what it used to be. I feel a disconnect within myself. I've been looking into ways I can unlock my abilities myself and get back in tune with myself the way I used to be. I'm just not sure how to do it. I'm afraid to do something incorrectly and bring on unwanted things.

Do any more experienced witches know what I can do to unlock my abilities and be able to be in more control of my reality? I would really appreciate any helpful tips!

Witchy Filmmaker Seeking Support for Short Film ✨

(Still from my proof of concept for THE FAMILIAR)

Hi lovely witches! ✨

I'm Ruby, a  filmmaker from Melbourne, Australia, and I'm currently trying to secure funding for my short film, The Familiar.

Synopsis:
After a psychic tells Ella that her cat, Milo, is actually her mother reincarnated, she finds comfort in the idea…until increasingly strange signs make her question whether it's really true.

The Familiar is a quirky supernatural comedy about grief, loneliness, magic, and, of course, cats.

I'm reaching out to my fellow witches because every positive review or thumbs-up on my project genuinely helps improve my chances of receiving the grant. If you enjoy supporting independent, witchy cinema, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could take a look:

https://app.decentralized.pictures/project/6a2f4d3dd0f518109d09c8c0

If you're curious about the vibe, here's our proof-of-concept teaser. It's heavily inspired by occult films from the '60s and '70s, along with the gorgeous work of Anna Biller. I also composed the score myself, drawing inspiration from vintage witchy synths (think Myrtle Snow on the theremin in American Horror Story).

Password: thefamiliar2026

Thank you so much for reading and for supporting independent filmmakers telling weird, magical stories. I'd love to see more witchy films out in the world, and every bit of support means a lot.

Thank you! 🖤✨

Does anybody know a good rain spell?

I live in Florida; and we haven’t had the rain we normally get this time of year, I have some basic experience with earth and water magic… but I’m going on vacation for 3 weeks and want to try to make sure my yard gets enough water while I’m gone. I grow herbs and a few fruits and vegetables; and because I’ve been home a lot recently, I’ve had plenty of time to keep them watered. We do have sprinklers, but due to the drought in our area we have them set to once a week… I need a rain spell that works, but doesn’t immediately cause a category 5 hurricane.

Any thoughts?

My Sun necklace broke during my first cleansing spell in years, and I think it did its job

I wanted to share this because I’m still sitting with it.

I got this necklace in October 2024 after a really painful breakup. I won’t go too deep into that part, but I was in a very bad place mentally and emotionally. I bought it because it has The Sun on it, and at the time that meant healing, moving on, and trying to reclaim myself.

It wasn’t just jewelry to me. It became something I wore while I was trying to survive that chapter and remember that I could feel like myself again.

Recently, I started practicing magic again for the first time in years. I was in the shower doing a cleansing spell while washing my hair. The whole point was releasing old energy and clearing myself out. Right when I finished, the necklace fell off and broke.

That’s why it felt like a sign to me.

Not scary or negative. More like this specific necklace, from that specific healing chapter, broke during my first spell in years, while I was literally doing a spell about release and cleansing.

The way I read it was: it did its job.

It helped me through that part of my life, and now maybe I’m not supposed to keep wearing something tied to the version of me who was trying so hard not to fall apart.

I still love the necklace, and I don’t think it has bad energy. I actually think it held a really important purpose. But now I’m wondering if it’s supposed to be retired and kept somewhere special instead of fixed and worn again.

I’ve also been seeing deer around here a lot lately, which has added to the feeling for me. Deer energy feels gentle, alert, intuitive, and protective. Like moving forward softly, but still aware and strong.

I’m curious how others would read this. Would you fix it and keep wearing it, retire it, or use it in some kind of release/thank-you ritual?

✨Show me your broom!

I’m obsessed with these handmade brooms, alas my budget aligns more with your standard issue broom. A witch can dream, though. So do you have a special broom? Did you make it or buy it? What’s the story behind your current broom? Show me your broom! ✨

Heyy Chaos witch here quick

I had went to my local Spiritually Rooted store and purchased a couple amethyst bracelets , Florida water, yin yang bracelet, and for some reason I kept coming back to this candle. Coincidentally I am in a tight financial situation so of course things happen for a reason. I’d usually would want to do more like cinnamon etc to offer. But I worked with what I got and the most I did was write my intentions on a note. Questions I have is;
Because candle is clear did it work?

I’d really appreciate genuine guidance here plss

Graveyard symbolism in early dating

My boyfriend and I have been on two dates so far, and both times we accidentally ended up in a graveyard without planning to.

I’m not personally saying it means anything, but I’m interested in how people who are into symbolism or spirituality might read something like this.

Is there any traditional or symbolic meaning associated with repeatedly ending up in a cemetery during early stages of dating?

Newbie requesting help

Hi friends, I’m very new to this craft and I’m looking for some guidance. I recently had a falling out with a friend and she very much wishes ill on not only me, but my partner and kids. I am trying not to act out of fear, but I’m wondering if there is a protection spell that will kind of blanket protect me and my family? Something simple but that will do the trick. I am in the middle of moving and don’t have access to my crystals, etc. I’m heartbroken. I’ve never experienced a friendship break up 😭 I’d appreciate any wisdom you could send my way.

Menstrual blood magic with potentially last cycle

Hello Witchy communities!

I have been coming into my witch self this year and though I have dabbled throughout my life, this is a time that I am fully embracing and developing a practice. I have always fantasized about being in a witches circle, out in nature, on a full moon, with my menstrual cycle freely flowing. I’ve also thought about using my blood in a ritual or spell, but have never done so. I am now in late perimenopause and have very irregular periods and thought I had already had my last and felt a little sad that I had lost my opportunity. But I just started another cycle! I am starting to plan a ritual to call in my crone self as well as using my blood as a deity offering to the moon goddess and Pan.

My questions for you all!

  1. Any recommendations on collecting and storing? This could be my last! Also, I do not want my husband to know so fridge might be hard.
  2. Any ideas on ritual particulars such as Incantations? I plan to cast a circle, have representations for the deities, such as a white candle, a stone, and water for the moon, and a candle, oak branch, and peonies for Pan. I’ll burn frankincense and myrrh and have a bowl of water to add my blood in. Any other suggestions? I’ll probably also spend time reading tarot and meditating while I’m my circle.

Ideally, I’d like to do this on the full moon, which is in one week, so I’m debating on whether it would be better to collect blood and use it in a week if I’m not still bleeding or do it sooner on a waxing moon while I am still in flow. Thoughts?

Thanks for reading this long post and for any feedback 🩷

5th and 6th pentacle of the moon talisman

Hey guys,

I got a free talisman necklace when I ordered some herbs. I chose the talisman of the moon which features the 5th and 6th pentacle of the moon from the key of Solomon.

The options were all talismans of the planets and I figured to choose the moon because I work with ocean and moon magic both.

I’m having a hard time discerning if this is an okay thing to wear? I’m still learning and I don’t want to wear this if it can invite something into my home or rooted in cultural appropriation. I’ve seen a lot of differing interpretations for the talismans and wondered what yall think? I’m not trying to practice Solomon magic I just wanted to further connect with the moon but if this isn’t the way to do so I’ll probably get rid of it.
