Cherokee County Georgia T-SPLOST breakdown: $445 million for roads starting April 2026

Voters approved it in November 2025. Collection started April 1 2026. Runs through March 2032.

Quick breakdown by city:

Cherokee County unincorporated: $275.5 million. Intersection improvements on major corridors, road widenings, bridge replacements, resurfacing.

Woodstock: $65.6 million. Holly Springs Parkway widening and Diverging Diamond interchange at I-575.

Canton: $60.8 million. Hickory Flat Highway roundabouts and greenway connections.

Holly Springs: $34.5 million. Road widening, bridge replacement, intersection realignment.

55 miles already being repaved in 2026 alone.

A 5-member citizen oversight committee monitors spending. Records are public.

The question I tried to answer honestly: is $445 million enough given how fast Cherokee County is growing and what keeps getting approved.

Cherokee County Georgia T-SPLOST breakdown: $445 million for roads starting April 2026

Cherokee County voters approved a 1% transportation sales tax last November. Collection started April 1 2026. Six years. $445 million projected.

Most coverage stopped at the vote. I dug into the actual project list by city.

Woodstock gets $65.6 million. Biggest projects are Holly Springs Parkway widening and a Diverging Diamond interchange upgrade at Ridgewalk Parkway and I-575. Same design as Windy Hill Road at I-75 in Cobb County.

Canton gets $60.8 million. Three new roundabouts on Hickory Flat Highway. Paved greenway connections throughout the city. Construction targeted 2028.

Holly Springs gets $34.5 million. Hickory Road widening. Palm Street Bridge replacement. Sixes Road realignment.

Unincorporated Cherokee County gets $275.5 million for intersection improvements on Arnold Mill, East Cherokee Drive, Bells Ferry Road, and Highway 140 corridors plus road widenings and bridge replacements.

55 miles of resurfacing already underway in 2026.

The honest question worth asking: is this building infrastructure for the county Cherokee is becoming or just bandaging what already exists while new density keeps getting approved on the same corridors.

Downtown Woodstock

May actually be able to have a night out with my wife. Curious how people would put this night together. Dinner at one place, dessert at another and drinks at a third. Where do you go in downtown Woodstock?

Goats

We have a good-sized property and we’ve been trying to figure out what to do with some of the land. I’m an animal lover and although I could google how and where to obtain goats and recommendations, I thought I’d throw it out here first. Is anyone familiar with having goats? Where does one get goats? Pros/Cons?

44 [F4M] Roswell Ga looking for a friend

Hi,

I’m a 44 year old married woman (18 years) whose marriage has been feeling more like living with a roommate than a partner for the past several years. I’m not ready for divorce—it scares me—but I do crave real connection.

A bit about me: I’m very attractive, look younger than my age, stay active and work out regularly, and I’m smart and well-educated. I’m looking for a male friend who’s also intelligent, thoughtful, and kind—someone I can have great conversations with, share laughs, and connect with on a real level.

Just a genuine friendship with someone who understands what it’s like to feel a little disconnected but still wants meaningful connection.

If this sounds like your kind of vibe, I’d love to hear from you. And if not… well, at least you scrolled past a friendly post, so thanks for that!Hi,

Just moved from CA could use some friends

So my girlfriend and I moved from the Los Angeles area of California to Woodstock back in September. So far we are really enjoying living here with the one caveat of we have zero friends 🥲.

I do not know how people make friends in their 30s and at this point I’m afraid how to ask lol. I work in IT and my girlfriend is a hair stylist. I am a bit of a nerd and like to play video games, card games ect. I have quite a few tattoos which I didn’t think was odd until living here. My girlfriend is a wonderful and beautiful woman and pretty extroverted, we both like going out.

Anyways we are both 34 and if anyone has any suggestions of where to go or what to do in the area or if someone wants to be kind enough to hang out with us, feel free to send me a message.

Thank you :)

Kayak ramp still closed at Rope Mill Park?

Looks like the kayak ramp is still closed at Rope Mill? Is this due to water level? Stopped by yesterday just to check and saw that it’s disassembled. Water level was low, but not enough that the ramp couldn’t be used I don’t think. Doesn’t it typically open sometime in April? I didn’t see anything on the website about it.
