Not quite done with either. Been going through some Legionnaires and a Rhino as part of my attempts to put together some WB.
For the Legionnaires I did a slapchop method. I know thatâs looked down upon, but it makes painting them easier for me and frankly I have to take time into consideration.
For the Rhino i based vallejo grey and then did some of the flatter surfaces with white scar.
The red is all Flesh Tearers Red.
Iâm noticing that the red on the Rhino though is brighter than the Legionnaire. Is there anyway to tone down the red on the Rhino? Even if not for this one, maybe a way to get the darker red on vehicles for future projects?
Also any tips you might have would be helpful.
Iâm planning on buying CSM terminators here soon and am going to refresh my paint supply. I have some paints but theyâre mostly for death guard so itâs a lot of greens and browns. If yall could tell me what lore accurate paints to use and where I can best use them I would appreciate it. Iâll be using this post as a guideline going forward, I just want to make my guys look as canon as possible.
In short, what specific citadel paints are most common for word bearers?
Howdy howdy,
Itâs my first time posting and I just wanted to show off some of the characters I finished up for my word bearers.
My warband is the chapter of the shattered skull and the represent a smattering of word bearers drawn together to preach the word of Lorgar. Also picture are the chapters âalliesâ, the Sectarians.
Long time lurker and all that. Took a break from my Word Bearers but with the new Mk IV models I've picked them up again
First time poster and relatively new to mini painting. Basically painted half of the Blackstone Fortress box before deciding to build a WB warband.
I tested two slight variations with the two CSM models from the BSF box and started with a box of legionnaires. Iâm using a sponge technique applying Gal Vorbak and Word Bearers red and Iâm quite happy with the result at a close range. However, from a distance the scheme feels a bit monotonous and hence Iâm looking for some thoughts how to add some more âpopâ⊠any other comments are most welcome as wellâŠ
Left model: finishing layer of Mephisto Red and some highlights with adding some beige in the mix.
Middle: finishing layer of magenta mixed with Gal Vorbak, highlights with magenta.
Right: Same as middle but before after washes and highlights; not sure if i should continue to edge highlight; also thinking about adding teal details for some popâŠ
Cheers!!!
[edit: right model is after oil washes]
I am trying to make a full Word Bearer/Daemon host army, painted this guy in that scheme. Love how he came out but having trouble keeping bases interesting. Any feedback is appreciatedđ€
I have been a little disappointed with the flavor for the Word Bearers since 10ed and I wantes to see if I coidl create interesting rules that woukd add flavor and power without becoming overpowered. I would like the community to please review and comment.
FOR THE DARK GODS AND THE AURELIAN!
Gotta throw some gospel in from time to time.
noob to 40k here close to finished assembling the CSM combat patrol, what should I focus on getting next to be a thematic/functional 1k point list? dont wanna buy up to 2k points for learning to play. In regards to WB should I get the recent CSM battleforce, another CSM combat patrol or just buy as many demon kits as I can afford? I know the recent CSM battleforce has 20 cultists, is that and the other contents of the box useful for WB play style?
Finally decided to paint my first Word Bearer! I'm really pleased with how they turned out!
I was going to dinge down the copper, but I fell in love with how cartoonish it ended up đ
Finally, getting around to this transport for my word bearers.
Still need to add some runes and the Legion symbol. On the fence as to whether or not I want to add any of those âcolchesian geometric shapesâ, anybody have experience doing them?
I picked up the old chaos start collecting box off ebay a while ago, but I have only now finally gotten around to kitbashing some eightbound to make a squad of five possessed. It was great fun, so if you have some greater possessed still hanging around, I recommend giving it a good go.
I'm torn on these 3 schemes and I could use some help from the masses.
