So I don’t know what’s wrong but I bought games for my Xbox 360 and that starts happening no matter the game be it Skyrim, morrowwind, rdr, bo2 and I want to fix it soon so I can go back to playing does anyone know a fix or why it’s doing that
To preface I’ve never disassembled or messed with any form of tech until recently when I started caring about physical media again. My 360 red ringed last night and I decided to take it apart to get my game back from the disc tray and figured I might be able to fix it. I bought this 360 second hand about 4 years ago so who knows what kind of life it’s had. I’m guessing by how it looks it’s been through it. My question is this even fixable? I haven’t even checked the heat sink but I’m assuming it’s bare. The red ring was for a general heatwave failure.
I tried replacing the thermal paste on my Xbox 360. When I tried removing on of the brackets that holds down the GPU heatsink, I accidentally chipped the motherboard right where the traces were. It appears I have taken out 3 traces. Is there any way of saving this motherboard?
I was cleaning my console, and when I put everything back together and turned it on, this error popped up out of nowhere. During the cleaning, my screwdriver did leave a scratch on the board, but I didn't see any exposed copper.
Hi. I just got a slim 360 for like $20 bucks. It was a bargain because the owner didn't knew if it worked (I felt like getting scammed but for 20 bucks I said whatever). For my surprise, initially, it did start, but It froze after a couple of seconds at startup. I did a couple of troubleshooting and found out it was the HDD's fault. Otherwise (without the HDD) the console runs fine and it even reads discs.
So, what can I do to fix the HDD? Can I format it? Or should I just get another one?

So my halo 4 Xbox was working fine for awhile but I had a break and it’s been sitting there for awhile and when I went back to play whenever I play off of a disc it sound like it’s about to launch off into space, the game itself works fine but the noise seems to be persistent, installing the game off of the disc does stop the sound and digital games also do not cause the sound. Any ideas on how to fix it? Also don’t worry the halo 4 case was moved shortly after the video was taken was only there for display when I wasn’t using it and wasn’t there for too long (maybe 10 mins at max most of the time on dashboard)
Edit (I believe the root cause of this is somehow the disc? I attempted a different game and the noise did not happen but when I specifically put cod 3 it causes the sound so I tested a different Xbox that I play all the time which I know the disc dry works flawlessly and it also makes the same sound so the disc is somehow bad. Going to see if I can digitally back it up in case the disc stops working completely)
Recently got a hand-me-down r2d2 Xbox 360, and have an issue where randomly after it being off for a while it'll just turn itself on? All controllers are in sight and not in a position where any accidental button pushing could be happening, nothing is ever near it when this happens, and the only solution so far has been completely unplugging it when it's not in use. For reference, it's been sitting in my grandmother's room hooked up for a year and a half and hasn't done this, but when we moved it into my room it started???

I bought this in a lot of 3 off of ebay, serviced in 2010 and the microsoft sticker was still intact. The power supply works on other consoles, but the LED turns from orange to red as soon as i plug it into this console. This is my first time doing repairs beyond disc drive fixes.
I’ve noticed that a few of the solder points look to be bridging (again, no experience so let me know if i’m wrong). Has anyone encountered this issue before? I can’t add additional attachments to the post.
As title says i just wanted to try ask, and if this is most likely an easy fix or more circuitry deeper work and soldering or exchanging components on the circuit board or other places. Most likely a modded 360, but owners only use it regularly and did’nt know it even was modded if a mod of any kind exists at all. I took it upon me to try help if they came with it, so just wanted to ask here first if any here has had same issue with or without a mod. I read the could be a safety feature of not starting if a pin is not right in usb port and would be just a tweezer like fix or that it could help remove the hdd..And this were if they are lucky. Around me a descent used go for about 12-150 dollars ish and sometimes much less or a bit up depending. So my thoughts were maybe just even tell them it will be not much to replace if it exceeds what I can do even tho I do much anyway only if its to comprehensive for me to do that they will need to send it or deliver for a company repair within the field.
If it did’nt seem with a note that came with it suggests it’s a modded console I would just help them get a new or tell them that it would be the best solution almost 😏

A while back I purchased an Xbox 360 S but just recently got a power cable for it. After a factory reset I attempted to setup the wifi on the system, however it refuses to connect to my home network. I tested it on my phones mobile hotspot and it connected with no issues, Ethernet also seems to work. I've tried manually setting my both the DNS and IP settings manually on my Xbox but that didn't fix anything. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions on how I can fix this issue?
I’m trying to play The Walking Dead S1 E3 and whenever the game auto saves this appears. I’ve tried all the tricks, cleared Xbox 360 cache, cleared Xbox 1 cache, all caches are cleared. Tried restarting, unplugging, everything I can think of and nothing happens. I’m not using an external storage device either. I’ve got lots of hours on the game and this is new. Is there a fix or am I just cooked?
I recently decided to plug in my old Xbox 360 E that I haven’t used in probably over 6 years. When I first turned it on I’m pretty sure I was able to log in to Xbox live briefly but then I got a pop up saying Xbox live needed to be updated. I tried that and it took a few mins then it restarted. Once it turned back on the exact same pop up screen saying Xbox live needed to be updated came back up. I tried again and it just repeated the cycle I also tried some other things like trying to create an offline profile and that didn’t work either. I then went to my storage because I thought maybe that was the issue. It says my memory unit only has 115 mb left. I then went in to the individual files to try and delete stuff but when I did that nothing showed up. It’s as if I have used zero memory. I’ve tried clearing the cache system as well as formatting it but nothing changes. It just seems like everything I try to do doesn’t actually go through. After researching I discovered that my internal memory unit most likely is corrupted/failed and that I would need to get a hard drive or usb. I found a usb with like 1gb at my house just to test to see if it would work and it does show up on the storage screen. I’ve tried updating Xbox live again but I’m still stuck in the same loop. I was able to eventually create an offline profile but only when I tried to play a game and it popped up to ask me to. Basically I’m just looking for suggestions on what to do about my Xbox live update problem and also wondering if you guys think getting a harddrive would fix my problems or not. Thanks! Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue playing an Xbox 360 game on my Xbox Series X.
The game launches normally, but when it reaches the title screen, it gets completely stuck and I can’t proceed. Pressing buttons doesn’t do anything. I can still press the Xbox/Home button and return to the Xbox dashboard, but the game itself remains frozen on the title screen.
I’ve already tried:
Restarting the game
Fully restarting the Series X
Quitting the game and launching it again
Restarting the console
Reinstalling the game
The strange thing is that other backward-compatible Xbox 360 games work normally on my Series X.
Has anyone experienced this issue recently? Is there a known fix for Xbox 360 games getting stuck on the title screen when played through backward compatibility on Series X?

For a while I wanted to play some of the sports games I’ve played as a kid such as fifa, a while ago I wanted to play fifa World Cup 2010 so I got the iso of the game and tried it out but when it said to press start and I did press it nothing was happening and whenever I tried to go to aurora it would freeze my Xbox,
I did tried to post that issue on here at the time but it kept getting blocked,
So now I finally got the disc for the game when I put it in and tried it it worked but when I used the disc to god format and loaded the game it did the same thing as I mentioned before.
What do I do now?

Hi, I really need some advice. For some time now, whenever I start my Xbox 360 Slim Corona, the fan runs at full speed, but the temperature is very low, around 40–45°C for both the CPU and GPU. It doesn’t overheat or anything. I cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste. Is the fan dying?

Hi, after 1 month of the Microsoft support not being able to help me with this, I’m posting here to see if anyone has a clue into what I should try.
So, I moved into another country and bought a used 360, wanting to download all the games I had digitally in my account from many years ago. I did all the migration steps for my Xbox and Microsoft account, changed the region in the Xbox itself and also did the license transfer.
Before migrating region, all my stuff appeared normally but downloading them gives a corrupted error (as it should, because before I was in a NTSC region and now PAL). But after migrating regions, all the stuff I own just appears in the Download History as “CONTENT NOT AVAILABLE“. When I click on them, it gives an error.
For testing, now even new things I buy for the Xbox 360 on the app appear in the Download History as Content not Available.
I can play physical discs fine, but it seems something is broken on the digital licenses for my account, and support just says they escalated the case but don’t have a response yet. I already did all the formatting, clearing cache and redownloading profile stuff.
