I live in NYC and I own an Xbox 360 S Console, model 1439, manufactured July 2011 (10.83A), and everything still works just fine.

I'm only considering it because I really want to play X-Men Origins, and it would also be cool to mod in GTA IV's online mode.

I read up that RGH3 would be the best fit for me, but I know very little about modding so I'm unsure if that's truly the case.

Anyone else who is also US based know of any trusted modders I should consider sending my console to?

I learning to soft mod an original xbox but I'm struggling getting it all set up and having the games added I've watched multiple YouTube videos I don't know what I'm doing wrong

I found this xbox somewhere in my house, nobody knows how it got there, i didnt have the AV cable so i did a mod to get direct output to the tv soldering 2 cables straight to the AV port on the underside of the motherboard and it worked great! for 3 days... it gave video and startup animation worked normal, but the problem is that the DVD drive was damaged, so what i did was connect the original dvd drive to the yellow power cable and port on the motherboard, but the IDE cable i connected it somewhere else, i didnt have another dvd drive so i had to use an old 52x cd-rom drive, and it worked fine, i burned HeXEn to a CD-R, it booted, i could also go to the dashboard, and everything was working great, i was trying to flash a bios with NoDVD patch so i didnt have to use that CD-ROM drive, but in HeXEn it game me "manufacturers id 09 device id 00 !! Flash Not Writeable !!"

The chip was an old aladdin xt plus2, the dvd drive has a date of 2004 inside so i guess that's when it was being used last, so i gave up on that, and was looking for a controller since i was using it with a keyboard, but sometimes the startup animation would freeze, and i had to turn the console off and then turn it on again to fix it, it got to a point where it started freezing earlier and earlier in the startup animation, until it only showed a tiny green dot on the screen, and when i turned off one more time, then i turned on and the xbox started to FRAG, and i tried to turn it on a lot of times now, but nothing seems to work.

I know it's not the mods i did that are causing it because it was working fine, it just started freezing out of the blue and now it never even boots anymore, i tried removing the chip, nothing, i tried removing the IDE cable, nothing (when it was working i could just turn it on without the IDE cable and it would give me error 07 or something, but this time just FRAGs) i have replaced some capacitors before and founf that one of them had a bad solder that moved so i fixed it but it still failed with the FRAG, the replaced ones are 2200μf 6.3V near the CPU, but that was only 2 i replaced, there are still some 1500μf 6.3V ones unreplaced, and yes, the clock capacitor did corrode some things and i took it out, even the power button trace was bad, but i fixed the trace thinking that was the problem, nope, still FRAG, i dont know what to do now. It's a 1.0 launch model

Hay eveyone. So long story short I'm just a simple dude who wants to play a few old games and who is sick of modern consoles needing high speed Internet and constant updates for everything.i lien in bumfuck nowhere and don't have the best Internet with my lil hot spot.I got two old 360's but they won't read disks anymore and after trying and failing to fix them ( replacing the disk drives without knowing they needed some program key thing) started looking into the modded 360's where you can play games off a flash or hard drive and just wanted some advice on wheres a good place to get one , whats a good one to get and can I get them pre loaded with games ? Or do I have to do all that myself? Sorry if these are really dumb questions but I'm just a bit frustrated right now trying to use my wife's old Xbox one to play Skyrim...( Why the hell does it need to download it instead of just playing it off the fuckin disk ? 🤨)

I recently purchased the Electron Xout after having the POUND HDMI for a couple of years and now I'm noticing purple and green bars on the xbox boot up screen and on 2 games: Vietcong: Purple Haze and Street Racing Syndicate. On ElectronShephards FAQ it states my scenario and suggests getting caps replaced. I opened my console up and there are some that are bulging but none have released their juice onto the motherboard. I removed the clock capacitor a couple years back when I did the Rocky mod. Is there anyone in Northern Illinois that does recaps? Or worst case scenario, can anyone suggest an inexpensive soldering iron for this? It would be a one and done for me so not looking for an expensive one. I've only soldered one other time; 20 years ago to revive a Creative Zen Jukebox mp3 player and was successful albeit ugly.

Hi everyone,

I'm working on fixing an original Xbox for a friend and I'm having issues getting past the XBMC loading screen.

When I go into recovery mode the XBMC Fatal Error is

hi i have been trying to find mod menus to download but i have only gotten a gta iv one to work, i would appreciate it if anyone would send me the files or links of any mod menus they have.

Dumb question, but other than it running home brew and un something code, what does it do, and what do these two things I previously mentioned mean. I was also wondering if this will let me pirate games, so if you have any answer's I hope you can give them

I removed the clock capacitor, I replaced the three caps by the CPU and GPU that were bulging, and the bloody thing still just restarts three times and flashes green and red. Wtf

I have a soft-modded Xbox that has a bad HDD. A self-induced bad HDD (I deleted the wrong files), but regardless of my error, it boots to a You need service screen. Is there any recovery from this? I don't know the eeprom to swap another HDD. I was thinking of adding a modchip but my soldering is not good. I've seen the Conductive pens, do they actually work? Even a temp fix is fine I just need the eeprom so I can rebuild the HDD. Perhaps I can buy a modded xbox off ebay and get the eeprom to unlock the HDD. I want another xbox for LANing anyways.

All the fuss is it is nostalgic, I've had it since the Xbox launched. I hate to trash it for my dumb mistake.

I’ve been working on a little project called X360Remap for Xbox 360 RGH/JTAG.

The idea is pretty simple: use a keyboard and mouse directly on the Xbox 360, especially for FPS games, instead of having to rely on the right analog stick or buy an expensive external adapter.

It currently supports:

• ⌨️ Keyboard input
• 🖱️ Mouse aiming
• 🎯 Custom key/button remapping
• 🎮 Controller input alongside keyboard & mouse
• ⚙️ Per-game profiles
• 🖱️ Mouse calibration/settings

I’m not a professional developer. This started as something I wanted to make for myself, and I’ve been working on it in my spare time, testing and fixing things on real Xbox 360 hardware.

It’s far from perfect and there’s still plenty I want to improve, but I’ve reached a point where I’d really like other people in the Xbox 360 modding community to try it.

If you have an RGH/JTAG console and some time to test it, I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback — especially if you find something that doesn’t work properly.

If anyone ends up enjoying it, sharing it with other people who might find it useful would also mean a lot.

While soft modding my screen goes black and the xbox toggles red, orange, green for an indefinite amount of time, when I eject the disk it goes back to normal and I can see in my HDD unleashX does it mean it is working?
