I have a Xbox one which is around 8 or more years old paired with my 43” TCL Roku TV which is also around 8+ years old. Recently I’ve began having problems when trying to turn on my Xbox. The screen is either squished and very pixelated, flashing black with the Xbox logo displayed, or it’s on and I can hear sounds like pressing my profile but the screen is black. I’ve been able to fix it and get it to work, but I want a new Xbox or TV.

I really only play Minecraft, Fortnite, and occasional story games like Little nightmares. Fortnite I’m able to tolerate playing (even though I do lag) but Minecraft is a different story. It is extremely laggy and I will freeze at times and have to quit the app and start it up again. Also when starting Minecraft the loading time is more than 20 minutes. This includes the first loading screen, waiting for my character to load (if my character doesn’t load it won’t let me play) and then actually loading into my world which takes at least 10 minutes.

Now my question is do I have to get a new TV or a new Xbox? I will have to wait til Christmas to get either, and I feel like getting both is too expensive. If I do have to replace both, are there cheap good TV’s to get? And if this is just a Xbox problem would it be better to get the Xbox series S or the series X?

Does anyone have any idea what’s going on? Anyone on Xbox able to play multiplayer? It’s saying my console can’t connect, I’ve restarted the system, the game, nothing all day, someone said it needs a new port like PS5, what does that mean & can I do anything about it?

Yesterday I was able to play an unpatched gamepass game offline. Today all the sudden my console says "For this game, you need to be online" and then something about making my home console. I currently home share with someone who has gamepass. I've managed to play unpatched games offline quite regularly. Any idea what's causing this? How to get around it? The unpatched game has an update that I haven't been willing to apply for a while now and hadn't had any problems until today. Series X btw.

When I went to use my xbox tonight my audio suddenly turned off. It works fine on the tvs other output and console makes the chime when it turns on but no visual and game audio. I have tried everything, restarted the xbox, everything, tried multiple hdmi cords, went thru 500 setting with chat gpt and 10 more resets and still nothing… what do i do
