So yea the title basically. I enjoy gaming but I do not understand the technical side of how it works I geuss.

I just dont understand how a game like Elden Ring which is a MASSIVE world with tons and tons of content, bonkers graphical detail, and even a DLC which is almost an entirely second game is only 91.1 GB total.

Yet when I went to download Overwatch. I expected it to be maybe I dont know 40-50GB at most? Its basically a dozen maps, 30 characters, and a battle pass with cartoon graphics. Yet somehow it's 91.7GB? Literally more memory than both Elden Ring and its DLC combined?

And I know Overwatch isn't anywhere near a big offender. I have heard people's complaints with CoD so many times for memory nuking their console.

But yea why is it like this though? Just seems so backwards to me. Games with next to no Content like Halo Infinite Multiplayer for example requiring 71GB... for what? To load 20 maps and weapons with a Character model?

Meanwhile you have another game like Hogwarts Legacy. Massive world, insane graphical detail, infinite assets to load, entire skill trees, pools of items, inventory systems, cutscenes, npcs, dialogs, etc etc etc.... and it requires 61GB.

Am I lost? I dont understand why these very simplistic games take an arm and a leg from our consoles memory.

I was pissed that I missed out on some LASO cheese method I just heard about recently that I missed cause I been at the hospital plus was playing Gears Beta ALL weekend till Monday so I hopped back on Halo to finish my Mix Master achievement and somehow the progress reset. I didn't want to jump back into that any time soon so I did LASO. No modifiers. No co-op. Nothing but good ole Spartan juice BABY! WOOOOOOH! I'M THE HALO QUEEN!!!

Saw you could buy bf6 at Walmart for $25 for the series x. Thought it was worth a shot because I loved on the old ones but couldn’t justify paying $70 online. Came with a physical copy and 4 different things to download. After those downloads it says it requires a 120gb update and has been taking forever, much longer than what something would normally take at that size and the eta given. Is this normal? About to return it. It’s been 2 hours already.

This is most likely true and looks amazing for such an early stage in development

It takes a fair amount of effort to stay up to date, so hopefully this is useful. TBD are best guesses. Some games are in question due to recent layoffs and studio sales.

Debated this for about a week. Listed at $250 at my pawn shop. I got them down to $200 out the door. The shop paid for the tax. Mainly copped so I can play Gears of War EDAY once it comes out in a few.

The shop had another one listed at $225 as well but that one got snagged before I was able to cop. But now she’s home.

EDIT: to reply to some comments - I’ve fully logged into my account and used the controller. There is absolutely 0 stick drift and the Xbox is not banned. Fully functional. Will give it a nice little clean but nothing excessive. No roaches inside haha

Also like I said it comes with storage expansion. Total storage in this little beast is 1.6terabytes.

Decided that I didn’t use the console enough to justify keeping it around. I will miss out on some real cool exclusives coming in the near future but my time on the platform was positive and I could see myself coming back next gen or thereafter.

To complement my figure collection, here is my gaming setup. It features a custom Zero Two console with two matching themed controllers. The green LED at the top adds the perfect finishing touch. What do you think?
