XREAL One Pro No Video on ROG Xbox Ally X – Detected at 640×480
Based on my troubleshooting, I believe the issue may be related to the USB-C DisplayPort/EDID handshake between the XREAL One Pro and the ROG Xbox Ally X.
Windows correctly detects the glasses as “XREAL One Pro” and shows the desktop resolution as 1920×1080, but the active signal mode remains stuck at 640×480. The glasses then display “No video detected.”
The glasses work normally when connected to my phone, and the ROG Xbox Ally X outputs video normally to standard external monitors through a dock. I have also updated the XREAL firmware, performed an ASUS Cloud Recovery, tried both USB-C ports on the Ally, and tested multiple display modes.
Because both devices work independently but fail when connected directly to each other, I suspect a compatibility or signal-negotiation issue between the XREAL One Pro and the ROG Xbox Ally X, possibly involving EDID, DisplayPort Alt Mode, or the AMD Radeon 890M graphics/display driver.
Could anyone please confirm whether this is a known compatibility issue and whether there is a firmware, driver, or configuration fix available?
