Xtra Edge Gives Timer Warning

Hi, I recently got the Xtra Edge Pro and have been using it to take videos.

I bought a 64 gb sd card to start + the internal storage it comes with. I can get 1hr 20mins out of recording with it.

My questions are:

  1. why does it give me a ‘warning’ timer whenever I get into 1 minute or 2 minutes of recording?
  2. Is still capturing my video even while this timer is going?

TIA!!!

I think XTRA makes the most sense for creators who are on budget but are still picky

I’ve been thinking about this more than I probably should, but I think XTRA is probably one of the better options right now for creators who are on a budget but still care about quality control. Not “I want the cheapest camera I could find” budget. I mean people who actually care if the app works, if the footage holds up, if the color doesn’t fall apart, if the battery doesn’t die at the worst possible time, and if the camera doesn’t feel like a toy after 2 weeks.

That’s where XTRA starts to make sense to me.

And yes, before anyone says it, I know the whole “it’s basically a DJI rebrand” conversation. People throw that around like it’s automatically a negative. But honestly… for this category, I don’t know if that’s the insult people think it is.

Pocket cameras are HARD. They look simple because they’re small, but the actual experience is a bunch of tiny things working together: stabilization, color, battery, storage, heat, audio, grip, screen, app, file transfer, all of it.

Insta360 founder hinted that the Luna US pricing is higher than China pricing — anyone here familiar with the market?

I saw this screenshot being shared around on Weibo and now I am genuinely curious how people here would interpret it

Rough translation I got:

“People online are saying Luna is too expensive. The rumored pricing online is real, but that’s the US price. I wouldn’t dare to sell it at that price range in China. Hope people don’t misunderstand.”

The rumored Luna pricing floating around online, and seemingly confirmed by the founder in this Weibo post, is roughly $740 USD for the standard version and about $900 USD for the bundle

Based on what the founder appears to be saying, it sounds like the China pricing may end up being lower than the US pricing, though the exact difference is still unclear

I am very interested in how people who regularly buy cameras and creator gear see this kind of regional pricing difference. Is this pretty normal once import costs and distribution get factored in, or does it still feel high for this category?

(Plus, if anyone reads Chinese fluently, feel free to correct the translation/context since machine translation can miss nuance :P)

DJI just officially announced the OP4 Pro for May 14th in Cannes! But what about US buyers?

Just saw the official announcement. DJI is unveiling the Pocket 4 Pro on May 14th at the Cannes. But honestly... with the current US ban situation, how are we even supposed to get this without losing our minds over warranties?
What do you think about it?

need help grading XTRA Muse X Log footage in Resolve

I’ve been trying to get better at color correcting / grading small camera footage and I’m a little confused on the proper workflow.

I’m using an XTRA Muse right now and shoot in X Log. From what I understand, it’s kinda similar to DJI D Log M where it’s more of a flat profile than true log footage, but I’m not totally sure how I should be treating it inside DaVinci Resolve.

Main questions:

What color management settings should I use in Resolve? Should I use CST for this kind of footage, or just grade it manually? If using CST, what input color space / gamma would make the most sense? What file format / timeline settings should I use to avoid breaking the footage too much? Now I know for Dji they have the official conversion LUT but was wondering if Xtra has their version of conversion LUT or should I just use the Dji LUT since X-Log is typically a rebrand of DJI's D-Log and I should technically be fine?

Also right now I’ve mostly been doing basic correction: exposure, white balance, contrast, highlights, and a little saturation. But I’m not sure if I’m handling the flat profile properly or just making it worse.

If anyone has graded XTRA Muse footage, DJI D Log M, or similar pocket cam footage in Resolve, I’d really appreciate any tips, node setup, CST settings, or good resources to learn from.

clipped a tiny cam on my group ride and now I kinda get the appeal

Took my XTRA Atto out this morning for the Pandas Ponies group ride and clipped it to my shirt with the magnetic lanyard they provided

What I liked most was how low-effort it felt. Since it’s so compact and lightweight compared to a traditional action cam, I basically just hit record, clipped it on, and forgot it was there for most of the ride. For a group ride, that actually made a big difference because I didn’t want to keep messing with a camera or get in other riders 31 way.

Most of this route had steady climbing, some rougher patches, and then a faster descent (climbing up griffith was def my fav part lol). I also accidentally tested out the timelapse feature during part of the climb after I pressed the wrong setting, and that ended up being one of the biggest surprises. It made the slower uphill sections look way more interesting without me having to stop, frame shots, or constantly think about filming.

For anyone who rides and just wants something simple to document climbs, descents, group rides, or random route moments, I can see why a tiny cam like this makes sense. It’s not trying to replace a full camera setup, but that’s kind of the point. It’s small enough that you actually bring it with you.

Is anyone else here recording rides with small cams? What mount angle actually looks the least boring and what settings do you typically use when filming this type of fast movement content?

tiny camera for desk setup livestreaming

I have been slowly trying to make my desk setup less ugly for short videos and occasional livestreams.

Not trying to build some huge creator studio. I just want something cleaner than laptop webcam and less annoying than setting up a mirrorless every time.

Has anyone here used a pocket cam or small gimbal cam as a second angle?

I was looking at Pocket 3 but also saw XTRA Muse and it seems like a cheaper way to test the idea. Mostly thinking overhead product shots, talking head backup angle, maybe some bts clips while editing.

I know mirrorless will look better, but the point is I might actually use the smaller thing more often.

Curious if anyone has tried this kind of setup. Is it actually useful or just another gadget sitting on the desk?

Which MUSE 2 combo would you actually pick?

Hey everyone!

We’re getting ready for MUSE 2 / MUSE 2 Pro, and wanted to hear directly from the community:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DYH7ObsAcHr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

If you had to choose one setup, which combo would make the most sense for how you actually shoot?

Standard Combo: just the essentials
Creator Combo: built for more flexibility
Vlog Combo: ready to shoot and go

We know different people use pocket cameras in very different ways — travel clips, daily vlogs, cycling, hiking, family moments, or just casual everyday footage.

So we’re curious:

Which combo would you pick?
And more importantly, what would you want included in the box to make it really worth it?Drop your thoughts below. We’ll be reading through the comments and sharing feedback with the team.

Aftercare matters too, so here is how XTRA handles support in the US

https://preview.redd.it/kfkpjp527e0h1.png?width=1448&format=png&auto=webp&s=e6ba1a87d53d05f0093b9d5312eeeceefe18c846

We have seen a fair question come up a few times:

If XTRA is a newer brand, what happens after you buy the camera?

That is a valid concern. Buying a pocket camera is not only about specs, 4K, stabilization, or new hardware. It is also about what happens if you need help later.

So we wanted to explain this clearly instead of just saying “don’t worry.”

For purchases made through the XTRA official online store, our after sales policy includes return and refund service, replacement service, and warranty repair service.

A few important points:

XTRA offers a 30 day return and refund window from the day after you receive the product, as long as the return conditions are met.

XTRA Muse has a 24 month warranty period.

For return requests, our policy states that we review the request within 24 hours.

After the returned product is received and checked, we notify the customer of the refund result within 2 working days.

We also list US local service, local repair center access, and authorized retail channels on our US store.

This does not mean every situation is automatically covered. Like most camera brands, proof of purchase is required, and damage from unauthorized modification, misuse, or non covered causes may not qualify.

But we do want people to know that XTRA is not trying to be a “buy it and you are on your own” brand.

We understand why people compare aftercare with bigger names. That is fair. Larger brands have had more time to build trust.

For us, the goal is simple: give creators another real option with strong value, and support that option with clear policies, official channels, and local service access.

At the end of the day, a camera should give you more confidence to create, not more anxiety after checkout.

If anyone has questions about warranty, returns, repair, or where to buy, feel free to ask here and we’ll try to answer clearly!
